A collector of wisdom is he
finds it in all he can see
From vagabonds to royalty
Charlie Chaplin to Grace Kelly
in trailer parks and gated communities
He stops, senses, hearkens, reviews
always learns a thing or two
He is wise who learns from all men
~ what goes around comes back again
Alfred Hitchcock
Filmed movies about folks which stalk.
If you watch one, don't let your fears overpower
You, or you'll never get into the shower!
Hitchcock is known to have been very fond
Of beautiful ladies whose hair was quite blond.
Kim Novak and Grace Kelly
Make men's brains turn to jelly,
And, also, this filmgoer to respond!
Ten times, I've watched every film Hitchcock has made!
Let's watch one in my lonely motel, can I persuade?
You know, maybe, one thing might lead to another,
But I'm not sure it would be OK with Mother.
What sad fate does all of these celebrities likely have in common?

Had I been a lout I could have married the princess;
My wife's brother has married a banker's daughter.
My neighbor Jacob's wife Megan is a curio-shop owner.
My friend Lucas is blessed with Annabel a Google CEO.
My brother is honeymooning in Hawaii with Grace Kelly.
But fate..I know his status.
Poor, bankrupt, will soon end up in jail.
Fate, I ain't a goddamn muggins like you.

Before I'm another day older,
I'm gonna get shot in the shoulder.
In movies and shows,
the protagonist knows,
it's how to get Hilda and hold her.
From Gene Autry to Scully and Mulder,
the good guys aren't turned on by gold, or
political power:
come the end of the hour,
they want to get shot in the shoulder.
In Buffalo, Boise or Boulder,
each player, or stacker or folder
will promise you flat
if you wear a white hat,
you're gonna get shot in the shoulder.
The girl may be Gertrude or Golda:
you're ready to melt her and mold her?
The best thing to do
when the baddies ride through,
is get yourself shot in the shoulder.
There's no formula stricter or colder:
the eye of the movie beholder
requires of the star,
when he enters that bar,
that he has to get shot in the shoulder.
When I met Grace Kelly, I told her
(or let's say I gently cajoled her):
"if you're leaving at noon,
then I don't need a wound!"
But I bled. That's right, lead. In the shoulder!
She is born not of British Royalty
but that of Movie Star, Grace Kelly
Gucci Equestrian rider and her
friends Athena Onassis, Jennifer Gates
Charlotte, far prettier than her grandmother
His years spanned 1908-1997
reaching the grand age of 89
played many a character in his life
giving each one his special shine
My memories of Jimmy Stewart
goes back many a year for me
'Dear Brigitte' was the first I saw
a lovely film seeing the lovelier BB
Jimmy covered many different parts
of many types he did play
he was so good in westerns
'Winchester 73 and 'Shenandoah' made my day
He loved music also too
played the accordion as well as sing
showed this talent on the screen
'Glenn Miller story' was the real thing
The movie 'What a Wonderful Life'
George Bailey was his most famous role
this was his favourite movie
in it our hearts he stole
'Rear Window' alongside Grace Kelly
was a favourite also for many a fan
but there were so many to highlight
in a life of a ordinary man
James Stewart had a voice like no other
with such a recognisable drawl
it made his appeal so much greater
many great memories we're left to recall
Valentino , Errol Flynn such stars of the silver screen
Garbo , Bacall and Davis movie stars that all have been
Grace Kelly had such beauty Audrey Hepburn was the Queen
Bogart ,Fonda and and Brando got hearts racing in every scene
Pacino , Redford and Poitier ,James Stewart and Steve McQueen
Elizabeth Taylor ,Sophia Loren ,original divas unforeseen
Generations passed and so do they ,no longer to make me dream
But the stars that gave us so much grace will always be on my screen
Off all people i would most like to meet
At my Dinner Table, please take a seat
We could all choose Who - for various reasons
Just like nature, chose her seasons
A recent chap elected so
Its Obama man, go man go
Mr David Attenborough, the animals man
If they can do it, he can prove they can
Freddie Mercury, deceased singer of Queen
We could Bo Rap, if you know what i mean
Robin Islands, Awesome dude
He changed South Africa, with his wonderful good
This amazing guy, gets two more lines
Nelson Mandela is mighty fine
Grace Kelly of Monaco, of such beauty - Rainier knows
No longer with us, her spirit flows
Then there is me a Highland Lad
To the five above, my tables glad
Incredible in their own way
Two have gone, but there all here to stay
Presence, Legacy left behind
Indeed they are one of a kind.
To be so proud and able
To grace My Dinner Table.
These modern day girls,
they don't fall in love
like they did in the black and white movies,
no more Audrey Hepburns' sipping on chardonnays
and pursing gold flake cigarettes
over a bowl of delicate conversation
they're unsophisticated,
they puff on cigars
and gulp down jello shots
while attempting a balletic demeanor
as poetic as Grace Kelly
but their actual depiction
is gauche
and lacking the ability
to fool any heart,
especially Cary Grant's
I have this recliner,
that I have to clean.
It belongs to my son,
and it's big and green.
He got it from his neighbor,
all dirty and smelly.
When I get it clean,
it will be good for Grace Kelly.
So clean,and fresh,it
will be.
When he sits in it,
he'll think of me.
He'll take it home,and
that will be all.
He will be in touch,the
very next day,
He'll thank me with,
a cell phone call.
