I woke up frightened, a girl lost in an abyss of terrifying dreams

I woke up frightened, a girl lost in an abyss of terrifying dreams,
Where sweat flows like a rain of stars on the sky of the endless night,
I worry, for I used to not know fear when you were by my side,
But now I feel the shadows of the world reaching silently for my soul,
I wonder

Madman

I held the hand
of a madman
hiding in Hollyhocks
blending with ogres, 
eerie in tombs, 
chasing stars through
their animal shapes; 
others, a witch 
to their ghosts, anew, 
those gardens
though full, were
dark worlds at night

Ooh I Am So Frightened

Oooh I am so totally frightened now said Lion Number One.
Lion Tamer Cray-cray looks stupid; this will be much fun!
Does he think the chair will stop me? Asked Lion Number Two.
They lay on the floor of the circus laughing, annoying Cray-Cray too.

Where weakfish lump and teardrops greet.
A sluice of inducement  we embark upon,
With words that excoriate as a lethal swan.

With a droplet of grit and a split decision,
We dismantle our panic with precision.
Such a weak swimming against the tide,
We defy expectations; we won't hide.

In haunted house she’d lived with all her scare,
Lived all alone but with her barest bones, 
With monsters chasing her in a nightmare, 
O amidst company of groans and moans. 
One of which once drew close—one so raven,
She felt death's icy breath that froze her blood,

The frightened cat with a ho ho ho
Turned inward to stare at a spirit named Joe
We had to move him to let our gardener mow
The cat began yelling “whoa! Whoa! Whoa!”

The ground beneath him began to glow.
A vine or two came out and gave a show.
The frightened cat hid underneath a large rhino.

Frightened to take two 

Her soul was clenched in the hand's of evil, A strident deafening scream reverberating in her mind, 

Searching for where she's broken the most, Trying to collect shattered pieces that are hard to find, 

Even the faintest of lives light disappeared, Leaving her to confront dark thought's for a while,

A Myth

Darkness covers me,
They walk the night wanting blood,
That's me ..... you,
Hiding will not help me,
They find us through body heat,
I move on quietly.
Fangs that drip blood,
Lips curled up,
Red eyes that hypnotise,
How can they be real ???,
Vampires are a myth so I was told,
Yet they are hunting me,
Stalking me wanting my blood,
I run but cannot get

Darkest Times

Sometimes in life we are in a very dark place
Sad and fearless stuck at our base
Confidence and enthusiasm totally shattered
Struggling to work out what really matters

All sense of reality is out of control
Searching within to find our soul
Looking for reasons with a glimmer of hope
Exhausting all avenues trying to cope

Tears came streaming down my face
Wondering

Frightened Rabbit

I was not made for the hutch
No Wire fence to keep me in
A bedroom light my search light
I’m a Frabbit set me free

To these four walls I must conform
Someone’s else’s rules obey
Your life controlled by fear
Regards what your masters do or say

From the meadow to the woodpile
I fear the acts of man
I wish to escape,

Child Is Frightened

Child too informed
What is to become of us?
A worried eight-year-old asks.

The family is a train wreck.
Every day worse than the last.

Why do adults share
Horrible possibilities
With their anxious young children?

I Hid In the House Frightened

Yesterday delightful. Sixty degrees.
Could have warmed us up.

I hid in the house, frightened by the love of it.

Today I am sitting in my yard, wearing zebra pajamas.
A zip up suit with a pink fringed hood and a tail.
The tail is not comfortable, but cute.

The wind is brisk, almost too much so.
I do not care.

An Odd Noise

An odd noise
burglar?
raccoons?
opossum?
murderers?
home intruders?
My imagination is afoot,
and it is conjuring up some interesting scenarios.

A second sound.
also unknown.
on the porch?
in the garage?
in the bedroom closet?
are they coming to get me?
will this be the end?
are they brutal?
are they mean?
are they monsters?

I am deathly quiet now
waiting for them to get me.

So much darkness and evil in sight
So hard to find my rest in the night
So many dreams with each nightmare
So much sorrow screaming beware


How do I find rest for which I long
In darkness drear when all alone
Worrisome fears grasp my soul
Crying tears, why I don't know
