I'm ready to go
With my new pair of
Pristine white roller skates
Flawlessly shining
Sunrays careen o’er fields
Hope stirs once again
New rains kiss the earth,
Seeds sprout from the darkened depths,
Life dances anew.
The sun still rises,
Savannas awaken with hoots,
Life breathes, heart still beats.
Look down;
you are way better
than many critters.
Look in the mirror;
you have more power
and survived the tough hours
Look at your home;
you are super duper,
you made this one special.
Look around;
you are far better,
than many flimsy folks.
Now, stop crying and
start relishing...
For the world is small...
Very small...
But the joys abound,
all around.
Now, stop complaining
and start enjoying...
For the earth is pure,
and so are our souls.
Just dust away the grudges
and start anew,
all new...
all pure
all true...
Start Fresh,
Start New....
All pure...
All true....
Once a year, we toss our sins
And then we start out fresh.
I do it, even though my now-
And-then beliefs don’t mesh.
Traditions of the holidays
Are somehow still retained
Because, I guess since childhood,
They are very much ingrained.
Tomorrow, using pebbles
(Breadcrumbs can work just as well),
All my sins will hit the river,
Least as far as I can tell.
*This is my poem from October 2, when
PoetrySoup was down…
Blow the trumpet, rhythm of fresh start -
Hummingbirds nectar-sing-along.
Ruby passion throat, pink beak sips.
Chest puffed up, an emerald heart.
The flapping of yellow wings, strong.
Flower-power relationships.
The sweetest thing, a pleasant art.
Romantic flight of nature’s song.
Bird flips over God’s arrant scripts.
Memory of each flower, smart -
Its timing, to each bud belong.
Petals alive with hummer’s lips.
Hovering hummingbird busy.
Delirious design - dizzy.

What if I wake up and forget who you are
And forget all the memories we had
"I guess it will just be fine,
Cause you'd get a fresh start to love me again"
Cause I'll be the same man you had eyes on
And the man you fell in love with
The same one who held your hand
When the whole world turned their backs on you
For I'll have the same eyes
The same eyes that looked at you,
and there and then fell for you
So it can happen all over again
Cause the memories might be gone
But you got pictures to treasure
And it would be fun making the same memories
Atleast this time I'll have a better idea of what you like
For my first time I was still learning
Afraid to push to much and make you fall
Or held back when all you needed was it all
For I was afraid to be overbearing
The PO£T
Every day is a fresh start, a new beginning.
We can reinvent ourselves
We can be revitalized and inspired.
We can instill hope and love in others.
Every face we make, every word we utter
Every movement of our eyes and smile
Can uplift and enthuse
We can indulge ourselves in positivity.
Each day is a new day.
Yesterday is gone; it is foolish to chase it.
Today is a blank computer page.
A canvas without Gesso.
What we decide to do today
Can make us a hero or a villain
Can uplift and inspire or bully and oppress
Let’s be revitalized and refreshed,
Let’s instill love and hope
Whenever something comes to an end,
there's always a new beginning.
The cycle of life goes on,
like a shining beacon
after the downpour.
Like a daybreak
after the
dark of
night.
Putting the pandemic on the run
Awakening hope for everyone
Enlightening hearts with truth that comes
From hearts who guide through trusting
The One who created this world and gave us
All a reason to give without conditions
The gift of sincerity, grace and mercy
The gift of faith, hope and love that survives
All the worst pains, sorrows and tears
Piercing the heart with gentleness that flows
Through the veins of those who know
The USA needs a leader who is selfless
Filled with grace and willing to answer
To God, the One who can give us a new start!

Tomorrow is Wednesday; I shall leap from my bed.
I will dash over the dog, and eat marmalade on bread.
I will call up my great aunt and put her on speaker.
She will hear me playing with dog, and her duck squeaker.
We will laugh at memories of my mother, her and I.
We will snort and smile and hop and I will eat cherry pie.
If you think I have a sweet tooth, then stay around friend.
I will do a couple of jumping jacks and a back bend.
Thoroughly limbered up, I will bake up a brand new pie.
I will slap on some ice cream, and eat as I sigh.
The dog will beg me for a bite, and I’ll get her some steak.
Then I’ll put on my pajamas and dance ‘til I break.
My husband will come out to see what I am doing.
I will throw him some kisses, and make up some blue-ing.
I will wash up some clothes, and throw them in the dryer.
If I don’t do all of this, I guess I’ll be a liar.
So I am making a list right now, on Tuesday. Right here.
I am putting it on the frig where it will be abundantly clear.
I may add some other stuff as I do and I go.
But the main thing I’ll do is stay out of the snow.
Whenever you would
like a fresh start
Let a song work its way
into your heart
A light, airy tune
you're humming along
Before very long
it's become 'your song'
You move, you sway
its melody stays
On your lips, as you unwind ~
Serenity's gift, peace of mind
