Fibbed Poems

Premium Memberdo not lie to me

I was trying to help the birdie the diabolical cat lied
I saw my parakeet Poindexter, shivering by his side
Then why does he look frozen with fear? I asked the cat.
I think he saw something awful, he fibbed. Maybe a rat.

I never want to see you open his cage again I told the cat.
My voice was steely, I was angry with this liar, Matt.
I won’t he fibbed, but I did not believe him at all.
I gave him away to my Uncle, who set him down in his hall.

There are mice all over this place, he told Matt.
You can eat any dinner you can catch, he told my ex-cat.
Poindexter was saved, and Matt is not as happy as he could be.
The moral of this story is easy: Do not lie to me.

Keeper

I have watched you love yourself and seen you fight
You find it difficult to fight yourself but you still try
For the battle against oneself is usually really tight
But you remain in the ring even when death is nigh

Whoever told the tale "love is for the weak", fibbed
You are obviously fighting for the love to keep, deep
I admire your resilience and desire your strength
You prove that 'for love', we should go any length

Premium MemberMy Family Is Mucked Up

My family is all mucked up she tells her date.
We have multiple diagnoses.
My dad is mentally deranged, a psychopath.
He has probably killed people.

My mom is a freak, she has early onset Alzheimer’s and depression.
My brother is a sociopath, and antisocial.
I am bipolar with dyslexia.
I thought you would want to know before our third date.

We could still date, but you need to know that I am gay,
Her fast-thinking suiter fibbed.

Premium MemberDo These Glasses Make Us Look Fat

Do these glasses make us look fat?
Who looks worse, me or Matt?
I looked up to do a quadruple take.
A mistake I did not care to make.

Why are zebras so hard to raise?
They gave me a nod, Ted gave some brays.
We look silly in these glasses, right?
I did not want tears, pouting, or a fight.

You all look great, I fibbed through my teeth.
Dick scratched his tummy with his hoof showing us beneath.
We don’t believe you, we think we look chubby!
This was stated by their insecure leader, Tubby.

You look marvelous, terrific, I lied.
I wanted to get away, run back inside.
What do you think? She always says that
I gave them a wave, thinking they did look fat.

Premium MemberFive Chameleon Sisters

five chameleon sisters with talents none shared
dancing the day awake in a Nebraskan hay field
one was a dancer, dreaming of Broadway and Park Avenue
one was a soothsayer, seeing three of their futures.
Terrified because she could not see Gladys in the future.

Gladys was laughing the loudest, she brought mirth and joy
Had been uniting them in a loving way since her birth
Gwendolyn tried to shake off the feeling of death
Her premonitions had a way of coming to pass.
You do not look happy, observed Genevieve. She was their empath.
No idea why, she fibbed, not wanting to alarm anyone.

Premium MemberYou Lie She Said

You lie she said.
For she was not nice.
It’s the truth, he fibbed.
He did it twice.
Are we friends? She asked.
As she scooted away
Sure, he lied. For that was his way.

Premium MemberBack In the Day

We burned a bunch of matches
My buddy Dane and me
Then we burned an outhouse up
The smell was way ugly!

Next we burned a little shed.
Was not me, we fibbed notoriously together.
Then we burned my sister’s clothes
Because she had worn my favorite sweater

My grandpa spanked us both hard as he could.
This is the days when neighbors would
Get together and give all the kids a licking.
He also gave us both a kicking.

His Story Replay

Columbus despised local folk
Like Trump, he fibbed as he spoke
But truth be told
He wanted their gold
And you know that man ended up broke

Premium MemberWing Walker Smooth Talker For Tom Cunningham

His instructor said he must wear tights
Most essential in these sorts of flights
Fred said take them away
Folks would think I was gay
The truth is that Fred’s scared of heights

Fred fibbed that he’d been a wing walker
A falsehood, this sure was a corker
His relations soon found
He did not leave the ground
It’s a good job he’s a fast talker!

Premium MemberYou Can'T Hide Your Lying Eyes

The truth stood downcast in the lie
I know you’ve fibbed; I have the proof
You cannot look me in the eye
Still adamant you told the truth

I love to watch you backpedal
The truth stood downcast in the lie
Don’t lie to me… there’s no medal
Your mum you think you can defy

Did you eat all the apple pie?
(Crumbs are visible on your face)
The truth stood downcast in the lie
You grin and say the pie was ace!

You say sorry, and then we hug,
Your hunger you did satisfy
I ask you did you eat the slug!
The truth stood downcast in the lie

Ah Pot of Gold

SOmewhere at the end of ah rainbow
SIts my pot of gold
Seems the closer I get
The more the rainbow unfolds

Somebody fibbed to me
Can the stories be untrue
It can't be! It gotta be!
I have many things to do

Somewhere at the end of the rainbow
Sits ah very big find
No need to go round looking for it
Cause it's mine mine Mine!

I want it! I need it!
Don't mean to sound cold
But somewhere at the end of ah rainbow
Sits my pot of gold!

Leafless

A role is fashioned for each of us homosapiens to portray
Though what if such a role ‘twas fashioned
by a fallacious organization of fabulists
Who decode billions of renditions of one monograph
for narcissistic purpose of monetary gain?
Naked fidelity shan’t be placed upon a hollow existence
Nor should verses be fibbed
Why can’t religion be real again?

(: Smile :)

I have never run or walked away.
But now my SMILE has flown astray.
I will have to fly and catch up with it.
As we all know there is no limit.
To where we all will get to go.
Oh my god I love the snow.
There it is I am so near.
I fibbed i never lost it I have it here :)

I Won, I Won, I What?

To all my friends here on the soup,
I just won the state lottery and here’s the scoop.
With all the millions that I won today,
They said I could pay all the taxes in various ways.
It seems somehow the money I won,
Wasn’t quite enough when they were done.
I can make monthly payments on what I owe.
How come if I won I don’t get no dough?
He said it’s like this, the man was slick.
Try not to win, now that’s the trick.
If you had all that money you’d be just like us.
We’re just trying to help you so what’s the fuss.
Well now I guess I’m really confused, this is the only game you win to lose.
But wasn’t it fun the numbers you pick they let you choose.

P.S. I really didn’t win.
I just made this up I fibbed again.
Shame on me, but what the hey.
It’s something to read any old way.
