Water Thickens Blood

My blood pumps oil and my breath pumps steam
Close as a rock your all on a petty team
Forget your family or forget them not is your attitude to be
For the times as a child I did everything where’s the gratitude to me
Gossiping and disregarding each other not how a family should mould
I’m just awaiting my own family to love and gracefully growing old
You have caused heartache like lightning has struck me down
No more a tear and no more will I express a frown
I remain no part of you but I think lucky me
You carry on with one another as I live my life free

Family

Family that never visited
50 or so family members too wrapped in their own lives
Selfish
Listen to this beat
I don’t need none of ya’ll
Only the fantastic four
Stick to your own lives
I will stick to mine
It wasn’t meant to be
I will never halt
Never stop
I will always prevail
Family tree
Living from concrete
While no-one understood
But thought they were helping
Stick to all ya’ll
Family Tree
Greatness in the tree
But proud of the family tree

Family Bond

Having a family bond that is blessed with love
cannot be bought and may come from above
`cos if you multiply all the stars in the sky
and add `em to the grains of sand thats why

The love reaches further `cos it can`t be counted
but with a swift moment of madness, can be dismounted
as our family been down that road many a time
and take things to lengths like a petty crime

But a lesson has been learned, and i`m the first to say
that at the end of it all there`s a more loving way
that has a platform to make things more strong
and deal with this differantly if things do go wrong

Tracing My Family Tree

Tracing My Family Tree

By Elton Camp

With my family genealogy I became fascinated
And much wanted to see to whom I was related
I was sure that my ancestors were men of power
Family rumors say they were on the Mayflower

The previous two generations were easy enough
Because my father kept a record of such stuff
As I checked further back, it soon became clear
One ancestor has been hanged as a buccaneer

Another, I came to learn, his living had made
By dealing in the most shameful slave trade
About Grandpa Josh I found there’s no doubt
That we have relatives we didn’t know about

Then I learned that there was very good reason
To think another grandfather was shot for treason
And the Mayflower family story proved a bomb
It was through Ellis Island our ancestors had come

And when I traced them back to England’s shore
I decided it best if I studied genealogy no more
Because it might eventually become shown to me
That my oldest ancestor was a monkey in a tree

Suffering and Struggle Trying To Feed a Family

Suffering and struggle trying to feed a family
Hard work makes you feel manly
You feel manly when you feed your family
A family appreciates a man who strives and searches every alley
Every alley searched no lid left unturned
Ins and outs you learn
You yearn for better, the world is cold better is warm
When weight is heavier your strong
Familiarity is strong but love is a heavier bond
Easy to admit a wrong, move on
Correct it in the long,
A spirit of a man collected that’s what makes a family strong
Personal fears faced now fears facing the wrong way
Because you take it by storm
Chasing more until your amidst a swarm
Leading a pack weight on your back heavy paws on the floor
To lift them you clench your jaws sweat from your pores
Heal your own subliminal sores
Because families more important than your own stats collectively we score

     DEAD OF THE FAMILY
?????
I don’t know very much at all
I know red means stop and green means go
I don’t live in the deep south yet I have a southern drawl
And I also know the things that I don’t know

At first it was difficult admitting that fact
To tell people that I’m not so wise
Then I’d explain all the things which I’ve lacked
Such as an untraditional upbringing I still despise

Perhaps it’s the fact that everyone in the family has bruises
Yet no one goes to the emergency clinic for aid
And in this family there are no winners nor f*****g loses
Everyone beats every one just for a miniscule mess he may have made

Two ostensibly ordinary people are bringing their kids up with military rules
There was a lawyer down the street but we could never nerve up and go
We may be mistreated, mishandled but we’re no damn fools
And as I said, the only thing I know is what I don’t know

I have little of this world's pelf,
But there is one thing I pride in myself.
I have a family that I deeply treasure.
My love for them is beyond all measure!

Some folks take pride in material goods,
And live in upscale neighborhoods.
I am happy to live a simple life,
With a dear, caring and loving wife!

Other folks take pride to show their fancy abode.
The mortgage I'm quite sure is a terrible load!
I take more pride showing a crib so simple,
Where our slumbering babes display cute dimple!

To further add to my treasure account,
I have grandkids 'til I've almost lost count!
Even great grandkids, can you believe,
Adding more love for the family to cleave!

I would cede all treasure on this earth,
To have family gathered about my hearth,
Exchanging "I love yous" and fond embraces,
And seeing sweet smiles spread upon their faces!

Susie Q

Peering from high
She stops in to say
I'm still here don't worry
Just floating instead of walking today.

My cousin, my sister, my blood.
She graced us with her purity
She loved unconditionally
And always gave us a sense of security.

Way up high she flew in the snow.
On her way to sweet home.
Family packed and all belted in
Now they all fly and roam.

A family of four they stuck together
A team of love they reigned
I suppose God had a plan for them
Now in Heaven they are contained.

I smile as I dream of her
Knowing that they protect
Our family from here on out
I have nothing but great RESPECT.

They all had a heart of gold.
They were nothing but good.
I vowed to lead my life the same way.
That part I understood.

The children giggle still
Susie still loves fashion
Her husband still protects
They are the meaning of passion.

A Serious Lack of Judgment

A Serious Lack of Judgment

By Elton Camp

Needmore ignores his child and wife
He has let computers control his life
And for people who are actually real
Little love or connection does he feel

Needmore thinks that is it just fine
To spend most of his time online
If one of his family wants to chat,
“I have no time for such as that.”

A hurt expression of that one’s face
He doesn’t recognize as a disgrace
It’s more important to take a look
For bogus friends on his Facebook

Due to his mania, he gets no exercise
But that blunder is okay in his eyes
Needmore is growing ever more fat
But he seems totally unaware of that

I suspect that there will come the day
When he’ll regret having done that way
His loving family he did harm and annoy
And his own health also he did destroy

What Happened To Our Family

When I'm playing with my grandson & things start to quiet down
He asks me once again "how come our family isn't around?"

In the midst of craft time his mind wanders off once more
"Nana, why don't I see my cousin anymore?"
...
How do you tell a four year old that things may never be the same
How do you explain how grown ups play the "I'm so done with you" game

Sometimes family can be cruel & hurt each others feelings
When communication, love & patience is really all that's needed

We all make mistakes, it happens, not one of us is perfect
Forgiveness is the key that gives our life a purpose

When family gets angry and doesn't like to talk
The hurt and pain grows out of control & precious time is lost
These moments in time can't be brought back, they are gone forever
We're running out of time when we should be spending it together

"Our family is broken" I try to casually explain
But deep inside my grandson knows that our family just isn't the same
He looks at me again with an expression I'll forever remember
"Why can't grown ups just play nice together?"

Our Fathers' Sins

The patriarch of the family sets the tone
and direction of how families should be,
when they are troubled and misguided,
the family eventually gets obliterated,
sometimes the task of family protector
and guide creates angst and turmoil
inside,
high standards and expectations
make them crumble,
leaving foot prints that are indellible,
if only we could escape the legacy
and sins our fathers without creating
disaster,
the good would be purified and held
in high esteem,
while the bad would just drift away
into unknown emotional streams.

Thanksgiving Day/Dane Ann

The wind is quite blustery on our short walk to grandmaws
Hankering to have some chocolate pie and dressing
And see the new baby boy!
Never get to spend much time with the family lately
Kiss 'em all and get a hug
Stress out over all the germs we shared
GOD grant us blessings all the days of our lives
IF the heartburn doesn't kill me tonight, praise Jesus
Value of family --priceless$$
If brother can hobble he will make it ok
Next year will be better
God grant brother a new hip by Christmas

Drop off some new teeth for granny
Ann, she needs to chew her food good
You're faithful and just to grant our needs!

What a Birthday Is

You speak yelling
What’s a birthday?
But a cake and candles
You ridicule it heartlessly
You don’t understand
You never did truly appreciate
What we did
You hurt us
You did hurt us
With your thrashing words
With your careless thoughts
I thought a birthday
Is not that at all
It is the moment shared by many
For that person
It is the pleasure tasted by family
For that person
For only that person
I thought again
I await that moment each year
Knowing there is my family
Celebrating that moment for me
Blowing the candles
Making a wish
Closing my eyes with admire
It was all created joy
It was all a living episode of life
It connected laughs
Pictured smiles
Made a difference
But now
That I know there’s no one
There’s no reunion
No joined hearts and blissful souls
No treasured times
Or valued hours
So that it leaves me
To forget
What a birthday is…

Our Inheritance

We have choices in later life.
However, we have inheritance at birth.
Lillian's son gave a brief reminder of this at a brief chat one day after her passing.
We are given an inheritance of our family.
We do not chose them nor their behaviors brought to the table, so-to-speak.
Cherish your family even if you have to disagree.
Your family will disapppear one-by-one.
Cherish your family.
Richard and I understand our inheritance.
Know your inheritance!

Premium Member Family Tree Warning

When searching among the branches
of your family tree
Be prepared for the scrapes and thorns
you'll get along the way
Your sure to find some funny stories
mixed in with all the nuts
But lies and secrets will come seeping
up as sap from the roots
Don't take everything your told
by others at face value
They have their own private splinters
buried deep in the shadows
Delve deep into the inner branches
and poke among the leaves
For bitter sweet is the fruit
of the family tree
