I look back at my dad's radio
Shuffling through the channels
Cause the signal is too weak
But my dad will wait in awe

When the presenter starts off at the top of the hour 
You'd see my dad fixed in his stool
Still to get to hear the nation address

Those We Love

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday;
Though our journey turns bleak and gray,
Their guiding light remains to stay.

Their counsel heals our wounded heart,
Letting pain finally depart;
As opposed to falling apart,
Our world finds a different start.

They also fetch challenge and hurt;

they did him wrong but then the world will say-
"god help this child possessed by the spirit

he tries to find a reason to love them,
because he is in debt for raising the man he is now
but then again, they reminds him-

then one day,
a stranger will walk into your life.
before you know it, rambling conversation
will turn into late night laughs
that turns into meeting families
that turns into creating a family.
only little you knew,
how much this person would mean to you
and,
while you’ve known them such a short time
you feel like you’ve loved them a lifetime
