In Such Intense Flames, An Eternity May Be Born
Hold your dreams, bind them with rainbow beams
tumble sweetly and let heart's passion arise
sow the seeds that love gives passion's great might
that Life and Love both gift oft in joyful surprise.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.
Embrace those blessings that truest romance bestows
caress them with care and taste their honey sweet
let spring forth, memories that forever shall live
for gems of purest love, never suffer indignant defeat.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.
Chase your heart's desire, revel in its glorious touch
kindle such heat, stoke fantasy and its hottest of fires
for in such intense flames, an eternity may be born
even after glow of passion's saddest of funeral pyres.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.

Rhyme, ( Looking Back, Ages Ago)
Poet's Note- Dedicated to my great friend and writing partner, Susan Ashley.
Inspired by and composed after my reading of Susan Ashley's superbly crafted new poem titled, The Glory Of The Eastern Edge. Thank you dear friend for seeding this burst of early morn writing.
This revisiting of the romantic imaginations of my youth- reminds me now of the immense love and great blessings of my beloved wife Riza and the most cherished blessing of our beloved son Justin.
What once was lost, much later has been found..
A tiny yellow bird, tiny beak,
Sits on a tiny branch
Of a big green tree,
Taps its feet, chirps, hops,
joyful, playful, circles around,
Lands on the deck post,
Agitated, loud and louder,
Aiming to snap the piece of bread
I tossed on the deck.
A big yellow bird
On the big green tree roars:
beware of humans;
Zooming in,
Grabbing the piece of bread.
I get angry at the big bird
Until I see them together
On the big green tree
Sharing their love
Beak to beak.

HM: Strand choice B by Brian Strand
Oh middle child, dear son of mine
You've always let the others shine
And through the years you stood aside
---I want to say I've noticed you
Your sister charm, of course, we knew...
your brother's gifts were bountiful
But as a child, your words were few
---I want to say I've noticed you
When people cheered, and guitars were played
or siblings sang upon the stage
You cheered them on and praised their way
---I want to say I've noticed you
With wit and charm, your heart of gold
You melted hearts, with kindness shown
You've been there as a generous friend
---A brother/friend until the end
I love you all, ..of course I do
My children, all, each one of you
My quiet child, you're still the same
---You let the others have the fame
As parents now, all three of you
Your families shine, just like you do
You teach them well and love in ways
---So proud I am, my words can't say
My middle child, I hope you know
You've always been the one to sow
Such love to all you've ever known
---I want to say I've noticed you........

Forever together
Always in love
Magically bonded
In harmony
Loving eachother for all eternity
Young and old,
TOGETHER WITH ME!
It is a family tradition
Passed from year to year
That we spend together
And celebrate with cheer
As the first snowflakes fall
We hear mama’s voice call
"It’s time for hot cocoa;
Come one and come all"
She asks nothing in return
Just quality time to share
Making each cup special
To show how much she cares
Now anxiously we wait
When leaves begin to fall
That cup of love to come
With winters first snowfall

With self-imposed seclusion,
I am wandering like a lonesome person,
My heart wants to discover a loving feeling,
Which will make me forget my woes.
Love does not only mean a love for a lover,
Love is divine, it descends from heaven,
With such a love, you feel cozy and happy,
You will never be in fear, never be depressed.
Next comes the love from family and friends,
It is a strong bondage which unites us all,
It does not cost any money,
Just show your love and affection by honorable deeds and thoughts.
Last comes the love from a lover,
A feeling which calms our fears and keeps us united,
True love does not care for money or showy glitter,
In love, you live and die together.

A Mother's Love, Steels Her To Infinite Faith And Sacrifice
She cooked breakfast, got her kids off to school
took a brief rest on her favorite stool,
watched through front window as life flew on by
always and always, asking herself why,
dreams came but were rarely ever fulfilled
even hot summer days, her soul was chilled.
She prepared lunch, so delicious for two
even tho' where he was she had no clue,
out that window she saw sun beaming bright
he had gone so far away, out of sight,
dreams came, but his needed return did not
still a prayer said for what she has got.
She cooked another meal, kids must be fed
her heart crying, is he alive or dead,
not knowing, was a deep pain of its own
hurts eating deeper in her aching bones,
dreams they came, washing dark with lonesome night
she felt the weariness of her sad plight.
She saw the bus stop, her kids piling out
her daughter beautiful, her son so stout,
racing home, they both laughing all the way
she thanking God for yet another day,
her dreams came, her spirit asked yet again
why did he leave them, please God do explain.
Days chores done, all over her body ached
pray she with her deep faith, none of it faked
a quick shower then off to get some rest
in bed wondering, have I done my best
her dreams sang softly, this shall one day end
then your blessings, divine mercy will send.

Love that is fragile as a butterfly,
that lands in your palm,
with a glittering of color,
and with trust that you will care.
Allowing them freedom
to spread wings in the air.
When they are desperate for warmth,
a heart staying open.
Closing a fist,
a soul will be broken.
Caring enough
to keep open hands.
Waiting and watching,
as love only can.
Family is people who you can trust, You can talk to them without a fuss. Family is people who you can rely on, Even when you think they're gone. Family is people who make lots of rules, To you, they can look like fools. Family is people who truly love you, They know how much you love them too.

Royal Matriarch
Beloved, cherished, idolized
Who could this person be?
A pop star or the president?
A hot celebrity?
Not even close, ten cuts above
A modest hero reigns
A selfless woman, strong and bold
A beauty with the brains
This person is no other than
The royal matriarch
The solid rock beneath our feet
Our night light in the dark
A shoulder for our heavy hearts
An ear to catch our plight
The silver lining through it all
Our wings when we take flight
Happy Mother’s Day to you
My mother, my dear friend
If words relayed my gratitude
My book would never end…

Prince Sun summons lovingly his beautiful wife,
The princess who’s always shining at night in full, quarter or half;
Oh, my darling where have you been?
I’ve been to the park to watch the lovers’ kissing scene.
Where is Jupiter our beloved eldest son?
I’ve been busy shining all day long, I hope he’s around;
My love, he has just arrived and he’s big enough,
He can take care of himself especially at times get rough.
Here’s our daughter Saturn coming in,
She has grown into a pretty lady wearing her elegant ring;
Please remind her sometimes to focus on her dreams,
She might have fallen in love with an alien’s son that beams.
The Prince Sun makes a lovely role-call to everyone,
While his Solar Princess sits beside him wearing her luminous crown;
Uranus, Neptune, Mars and Earth saunter to their father
While youngest Venus and Mercury run quickly to their mother.
The Solar Family has finally reunited as one,
Children hold hand- in-hand… going round and round;
They merrily sing with joyful spirit of unity,
To exhibit a magnificent view in their residential galaxy.

A banyan tree that shields from tropical summer sun
A symbol of selfless love and sacrifice
A preserver of values that modernism has shun
No praise is enough, no gratitude suffice
Her love for her children is like blossom of springs
An angel she appears, a fairy she seems
It’s a symphony for ears, the lullaby she sings
The lullaby that drifts you in the valley of dreams
A teacher, a guide, a philosopher, a friend
An architect, a builder of beauty and grace
A garden of roses that fragrance send
Serenity of a lake where ducklings race
She suckles her babies with white blood of breasts
The hearts yearn for her bosom’s paradise
She strains every nerve, sacrifices her rests
Burning midnight oil with sleepy eyes
The special mothers that God has blessed
Maryam, Khadija, Fatema and Asiya
Women par excellence, mothers at best
Whether in Africa, Asia or the West
Mothers are an oasis in the desert of life
Their love and passion isn’t for display
Chained to the oar in your perils and strife
A shower of rain on a hot summer day

From the very first time, you hold your child
Their first gift is your heart forever,
The love you give and they return
Is the bond that will hold you together
Throughout their life, your love will be
A light that guides their way
The beacon aglow in the darkness
Should they ever go astray,
Your love will give them courage
When the way ahead is unclear
And will give them strength, when needed
To help overcome their fear,
Your love will accept them for who they are
Whatever they say or do
Your love will forgive unreservedly
Because they are a part of you,
It’s a love that will know no barriers
Have no bounds, no expectations
Your love will be unconditional,
Pure, with no complications
A love that remains as constant
As the stars in the heaven above
A gift no money on earth can buy,
The gift of a mother’s love.
The morning sun peeks in my window
as I feel a tug at my feet
how could I not smile
at that little sheepish grin
Easter morn has arrived
He is risen
and so shall I
Pitter-patter across the worn pine floor
giggles, shrieks and laughter fill my home
searching for the hidden coloured eggs
my joyous children roam.
Such a special day.
Dressed in our new spring best
we show our love for Him
celebrating with close friends and family
indulging in delectable candies and cakes
a family game of whiffle ball,
pushing my little one on the swings
enjoying each others company
basking in the freshness of the great outdoors
The skies begin to darken
the stars start to shine
our day has come to an end.
After all the hugs are given
the I love you's spoken
kisses blown, good byes said
I climb up high into my cold brass bed
and reflect upon this glorious day
again it's just me and You
