IN THE IRONY OF FORGIVENESS

The irony of forgiveness,
Is that human nature, doesn't
Demand that its cause
Be given forgetfulness;
Thus, giving anger opportunity
To revive its paining spirit
Of negative recollection;
Versus positive reconciliation:-

To forgive and not forget
Can prove to be oxymoronic;
Inhibiting resurrecting love
From eternally bonding
Family, friends, or lovers:-

The forgiveness we ask of God,
We must also give to one another;
And this forgiveness begins
With the forgiveness of self:-

Past trials and tribulations
Extricated and flushed down,
Let self be now ever bonded
In the onederful oneness onement
That God has bestowed upon thee
With faith’s divine peace and love:-

Premium MemberA Moment of Freedom

The world finally
extricated itself
from my thoughts
and became a sunlit park
being awakened by children
escaping from car seats
to run unrestrained
into the wide freedom
of a morning - broke into
a sudden eruption
of water from a sprinkler
coming to life
in the far distance,
seeding the warm air
with mist.

I felt the easy float
of clouds in a blue sky,
the bounding joy
of a retriever let off its lead
and the effortless hover
of seagulls tilting
on the edge of a breeze.
For a moment
I had the strange desire
to lift my arms, almost sure
in the belief
I could leave the ground.

Pain

Whispers of a dream,
A childish fantasy,
A future I can't glean,
A life with you I can't see.
Your words speak volumes,
They hit all the right marks,
Actions kill like car fumes,
Locked garage in the dark.
My entire being, craves only you,
This house we built together,
Left to fend, nothing I can do,
Extricated forever.

Premium MemberEfflux of Eternity

Up the incline of delicate dale of the verdant life,
blazing the curved canvas of the sensuous sky,
rising from the hollowness of the halcyon horizon
the shimmer of sun's spectrum slides on passion.

Cascading down the contours of valley of dream,
the sparkling lonely stream meanders mesmerized
across the arcane mindscape framed in obscurity,
in the backdrop of twilight visage of fading time.

The sluggish stream flows on the plateau of silence
in the final stretch of its ordained course designed,
to the confluence of calm fusion with caressing sea,
waiting to wrap it with ecstasy of the rolling waves.

In the sanguine sea suffused with setting sunrays,
the veneer of vermilion paints the pale tides of time.
The efflux of extricated eternity from deep within
glides with the serene soul into benign bay of bliss.

Premium MemberPrayer of the Neophyte Servant

Draw me nigh, God of supreme Providence, to Thy heart of love---
with Thy kindness’ fervor, rescue my dolorous soul…
…in need of Thy mercy’s radiance.

I beseech Thee to rekindle by Thy truth's glory
the smolder of my shallow commitment flirting with the world…
…wallowing in its lecherous intimacy.

Enable me, Thy neophyte steward
to serve Thee with earnest zeal…
…against the bombast of self-glory’s arrogance.

By Thy grace*, keep me ascending toward faith-performance heights
extricated from any genuine praise-inhibition…
…though in my weakness, I flounder along triumphant worship pursuits.

*Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

The Foreign Plant

I was once a seed
A seed wrongly rooted
A seed away from home
A seed on a craggy Mountain

An alpine plant once told me,
“You are not one of us.”
My two month old self
Knew none of that

Winter arrived shortly after
Layers of snow swallowed me
Darkness surrounded me
The Abyss imparted itself

Only Time took pity on me
Yet it merely enhanced my suffering
I remained trapped in my misery
Again, without my family

My vision blurred
My looks changed
My stem hunched over
My leaves darkened

It was Spring’s light
That extricated me
Though, somehow, my roots
Still trembled in pain

The cycle repeated itself,
Until Life gave in
I felt the release
I’m no longer just a seed

Today, I’m an oak tree
High up on the mountain
Still growing despite my past,
Though with a different outlook

Acceptance from Mother Nature
Friendship with flora and fauna
Yet, I still have much to desire
And so I will thrive beyond my roots

Mistreated By the One I Love

She was the love of my life
But was never much of a wife
Which caused a whole lot of strife
Her hatred cut through my heart like a surgical knife
Once full of life now praying for a change in life
The love faded as the hate invaded
My thoughts persuaded while my presence was degraded
Always making me feel like you downgraded
All along my soul forever shaded
Wishing I knew the reason I was hated
Or why the feelings were abated
Dreaming of the day that I will be extricated
We were definitely mismated
What a fool as I stand here life deflated
Can only hope it will be mended
Its always myself I'm defending
Time to stop pretending
No more room for bending
The unrelenting ending is impending

Pulled From the Abyss

Assuming… cold…
An abyss of extricated lies
Squeezing out like bile from your brain
I can’t breathe when the voice of yours
Is so edgy…so rock hard
As if my life is but a layer over you
That you can break and manipulate and BUILD UPON
I cringe—I turn into a statue
Defeated and ever-blinking
As the rest of my existence around is sinking
I don’t want to be a part of it
But I feel the chains linking to you
As you twist and pull and contort
I am still and stiff as a board
Cracking and rotting—a piece you hoard
Labeled unworthy
Fables unwinding
I’m still here blinking the tears away
But as the world occupies my spirit
My physically chained body yearns
Yearns for a warmth that never comes
That is always promised

A voice from the deep draws me in
Pulling me up for a moment
Touching me
The voice is cold but his arms are warm
And every familiar face around dies away
Dark eyes crushing my tears into powder
And I smile
Because I have never read a face
As genuine and unassuming as his
And for once
I welcome what once was disease
I welcome the haunt of his existence
Because though he has raised me from the abyss
He is willing to come again
And keep on pulling

In the dark I see you clearly
Images your hardly
Ever share with the world

Why be gentle in the dark
When others think you are hardened

That your emotions
Were extricated at birth
Two complete opposites
Gentle versus rough

Stone faced
With signs that if you smile
In the daylight
Your face might crack

I see you smile all the time
Behind closed doors
Behind the four walls

Almost like you are afraid
The world might see
The gem I have uncovered

It is a joy to see you laugh
To hear that giggle
I reckon it is about time

You show the world the gentle side of you

Temptation's Touch

TEMPTATION'S TOUCH
-----------------------------
His palm soothes the ridges
Furrowed in her starlight skin
Her masseur, he replenishes
Each and every aching extremity
The chiming bells of his strokes
Ring again and again
Summoning her to his lair
Collaged in deep affinity
Her rock solid attraction
Draws her savory soul
Into a lustrous world
She's never seen nor known
A vibrant virgin caressed
Then clasped by her first
Drowns her soul in his lake
To diffuse her thirst
Heaven's hallowed sheet
At last drops her drapes
Unveiling her cast concealed
Behind the stage
Lines from her script
Long lavished in capes
Sifts and locks his eyes
Embellished by each page
Chastity's cloud exiles
Then expurgates her existence
Extracted by he who
Extricated her innocence
Alive and awake, she shows
Herself just the same
Fluorescent radiant flower
Who bears a different name
Restlessly she reclines
Atop her apple green ground
While her heart percussions
Her wedded lover's sound
Each tantalizing twine
Designs his touch so sweet
Tightly tying the tongue
Of the tasting rose
Flooded in fervent favor
From Gehenna's heat
Deteriorating the stem
Decimating her pose

Lost To Own

Bravado and gaiety,
Marked the laity,
They were intoxicated,
From the problem they had been extricated,
There was a man,
Who was the swan,
Among celebrating also swams,
He gesticulated victorious,
And puffed and smelled the air,
His chest was pulled out,
As he marshaled his winning army about,
The folk jumped, danced and laughed,
Their future was free and well graphed,
Their year long fears were buried and dead,
This man had braved and stemmed the rot,
The drunken day went on for its 24 hours,
The man was lifted on shoulders that day,
And on the next there were suggestions to “lift” him in society,
However something was not right,
His lieutenants were not feeling bright,
They thought they had as much fought,
And deserved the “trophy” sought,
They conspired and brought the hero down,
His opportunities were stolen,
As juniors sighted not a pint but the full gallon,
They grabbed all that was offered him,
And became the controlling generals,
They let him be,
And run errands to their fancies and whims,
The hero had won foreign unknowns,
But in his own land he was brutally drowned.
