Premium MemberRainbow Twins Were Amazing

Rainbow twins were balancing a ball the first time I met them.
This seemed to be an effortless feat; and it amazed me.
I followed their careers, and they continued to be surprising.
They balanced life as easily as they balanced the ball.
Even-tempered, even-keeled, disciplined and responsible.
Many people tried to hire them, but they were particular.
Waiting for the right opportunity, looking for a company that was amazing.
They held off on careers until they each had a perfect “fit”.
And who could blame them?

Premium MemberWith Few Words Peace Be Still-

A truly wise person
So wise few words use ignites our eyes
Image of your disappointments
Fevered words in interim problem callings
Angers and yellings
Downtrodden in major disagreements
Misfortunes problems use few words
For a truly made up mostly of justly
Why is this person speaks, speaking less
Often and it being even still be of good cheer
Modestly humbled caring shedding sharing
For a truly wise person uses few words
A person with understanding is even tempered
A truly wise person uses few words
as but to understanding this even tempered

Premium MemberAlice

Alice is such a beautiful name.
My grandmother wore it for 98 years.
It speaks of soft whispers and shared secrets,
of lessons in life and how to carry oneself.
I learned to sew, to cook, and keep a home.
She gave me my first Bible, leather-bound
with a small white cross carved in the binding.
It had the softest, lightest brown leather cover
laced all around with white leather trim.
A fancy Bible perhaps, at least I thought so.
Inside she inscribed it especially to me.
I treasured it for years.
I have lovingly passed it on.

I miss her sweetness and her quiet ways;
her serene face, bright blue eyes, and
her kind and giving heart.
She never complained or asked for help.
She was strong, independent,
even-tempered, never flustered or shaken.
Our Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving meals,
always at her home, were joyous occasions with family,
and often included those who Pastor said had nowhere
else to be – no home, no family.
There was never too little, always enough, and we
made sure God heard our prayers before eating.
I share the name Alice.

I pray I do it justice.

Felty

The force is catter-balled inside of it's own redemption,

you are not meandering without,
or even tempered to non-survive the site-

they told us in many more trials that we don't travel in far as much as we can keep being more than what was told is for...

So many wines and gatherings of the eclipse,

so many new tides you might wonder how they all fly when really it's nothing to attack.

"So fly like a G-6"

"Never guide the high it's all alike and its..."

No ask why,

no internment bite,

just the waltz of the mountain goats and whites..

The flutter around after strong size,

weathered mime and together light.

Premium MemberHarold Was a Mighty Hunter

Werna wakes up in a fast unnaturally strange, unfamiliar way.
Her body is racing, she is disoriented. What time is it?
She looks at the clock.
It is 5:23.

Harold has been caught in one of his traps!
She knows it without knowing how she knows.
Her body cannot settle down. She is filled with terror.
It is dark out there. He has probably been hunting for at least half an hour.
Where would she begin to look, in the dark?
She does not even know where he puts his snares.

She tries to picture him trying to gnaw off his leg, the way so many
animals have done, to escape his snares.
Harold is a mighty hunter, and a vicious husband.
Angry when sober.
Mean when drunk.
Mostly mean now.

She sees a flashback of what he looked like at nineteen,
before he became addicted.
He was gorgeous, beautiful smile, and heart of gold.
Never angry, even-tempered, sweetest person she had ever met.
She rarely saw that Harold now.
She took another look at the clock.
5:27 a.m.

Rolled over and went back to sleep.

Premium MemberLast Salute To a President

Not party, but character defines a president
     popularity fades quickly
          achievements reign longer

Presidents Eisenhower to Reagan
succession of seven World War II veterans
          George H.W. Bush the last

Men of service earned respect
     brought dignity to the office
          true leaders

Family man without scandal
          even-tempered fisherman
like Apostles Peter, Andrew, James and John

Clean Air Act
     Americans with Disabilities Act
Bush saw as his greatest accomplishments

Approval rating of 91 percent
     after winning Desert Storm
          admiration proved fleeting

Americans “read his lips”
felt betrayed when taxes were raised
          president side-swiped by economic downturn

From Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar,”
     “The evil that men do lives on;
the good is oft interred with their bones
so let it be with Caesar…”

so not let it be with George H.W. Bush
     remember him kindly
          as I always will

Premium MemberRalphie Parker Vis-A-Vis Scud Farkus

It seems that even-tempered Ralphie Parker,

Had a side to him that was somewhat darker.

Ralphie lost his cool with his mortal protagonist,

And bloodied the beak of Farkus his antagonist!

Views Muse 5

My friend Ed was eighty two last I knew,
and had a construction crew.
He was a great guy
and his worldly crew treated him poorly,
Which affected me sorely.
He was an honest roofing and siding sub contractor
who worked with his crew, a positive factor.
Even tempered, humble, hard working and wise,
he labored and ignored the cracks of his guys.
Never complained or answered their slurs,
just kept working and paying those ungrateful curs.
He was writing me up another estimate one day,
When he suddenly looked up at me to say…
“Bob, do you want to know how I get along with all men?”
I said “Absolutely Ed! Tell me your secret if you can..”
He said,

“It’s simple really; I just accept people the way they are.”

It’s been fourteen years since I heard those words,
And thought that over .. as he walked back to his car...

Never Did...

Never did I love someone the way that I love you,
Never did I feel such love, so resolute and true;
My sometimes sin, to sainthood turned, in dreams to canonise
In the willow-patterned blueness of my willow-patterned eyes.
Belied the truth in poignant smiles and clarified divulgence,
Embodied in my selfish shades of yearning self-indulgence;
Flying destiny and fate, no longer mothballed flags,
Zipped my empty, pitied past in psychic body bags.
Flew them far away from me, their burned and charred remains,
Scattered them till they were gone on barren, distant plains.

Never did I love the time as times you set me free,
Never did my body crave as when you look at me;
You came and changed the sullen shape of life I used to know,
I cling to you, sweet holding on, afraid of letting go.
Below my even, tempered shell, a once protective casing,
Run the saline pitted cracks, relentless, ever-tracing;
Maps of contoured hesitance, of stumbling block behaviour,
Now travelled by my only one, my guardian, my saviour.
Understand and know the truth and we will make it through,
For never did I love someone the way that I love you...
