Monday Blues

Rise and shine
cravin' a latte,
of mint cream whisked,
Robusta strong.

With dozen donuts glazed
or more to go,
to bid 'em
Monday blues, so long.

Premium Member enthusiasm

enthusiasm grabs me by the right foot
shakes me here
tosses me there
I land over the fence

I am laughing
because I landed on wet pumpkins
enthusiasm is giggling
she adores shaking me out of my age self
I feel five-years-young and it is fabulous!

she tosses me up into the top of the sycamore
Now what? I ask.
We are both laughing like Missouri mules.
that loud, ugly, hee-haw laughing between friends.
Jump down! She encourages me.
We are howling now.

the neighbors run over to see what is happening.
They act like I am looney tunes.
I am.
Thanks to enthusiasm!
and I love it.

Your Enthusiasm Shows Too Soon

If everything weren't roses
gliding on a lonely lagoon
and eyes stared at skies ever blue:
you wouldn't show your enthusiasm too soon;
if nobody played strange games
to hurt the other, you wouldn't hang on a clue!

Let the waves carry you to the ocean,
turn back if only you heed some danger;
I've saved from storms, got no appreciation,
not even a hug for my sacrifice in high water!

No, you wouldn't show your enthusiasm too soon,
it'll make all the sand castles fall on  white dunes;
nothing can be saved, they are fragile balloons
that drift past bright clouds on a high noon!

Why rush into something, run fast and fall?
Wait for a sign that, make sure it won't harm;
I've taken chances, broke rules and lost all:
even passion is fading, so is your charm!

No, you wouldn't show your enthusiasm too soon
and not wait for my answer should I disagree;
slow down a bit, consider feelings to a degree:
to make mistake is a normal thing for a buffoon!

What we wish for is clear skies and stillness,
our glances follow the flight of a thousand eagles;
they go far to disappear into the vast universe:
will we follow them or chase something else?

"Enthusiasm is nothing more or less than faith in action" -- Henry Chester

I cling to reveries of youth, the tender sentiment of plucking words from summer roots,
That in my journal hours when the red
of skies are agleam...phrases extend long long as straw.

I burn language the way one does in
a flamed trance--amused, enthused,
seduced-- reeling into a daze beneath
a new moon, a blur of penciled happenstance flapping like a winged feather on river of late afternoons.

I would still scribble in hay where syllables grow into racy tunes , my faith abiding in passion deep...
And I could not help myself but drown
my hands in raw and humid lines;

Bury my eyes deep in verses' jammed.
I'm loathed to leave my untamed story
when twilight fades. Still and all, letters
drip and tradewinds see blown paper

curling like blotted fingertips!

“Enthusiasm is nothing more or less than faith in action” – Henry Chester

Oh, glitter dreams, I had to let you go
though in my youth, you’re all that I longed for.
Faith fled when my sweet passions lost their glow.

Some plans I made fate forced me to forego.
They vanished like when tides recede from shore.
Oh, glitter dreams, I had to let you go.

One’s destiny can be a bitter foe.
It took from me my fervor to explore.
Faith fled when my sweet passions lost their glow.

When young, I never thought with age came woe.
Life taught me this when hope walked out my door.
Oh, glitter dreams, I had to let you go.

I’m older, and though wiser, dying slow.
Fate tore my wings so that I could not soar.
Faith fled when my sweet passions lost their glow.

I thank my Lord for gifts He does bestow
on me, but pray my good health He’ll restore.
Oh, glitter dreams, I had to let you go.
Faith fled when my sweet passions lost their glow.

“ Enthusiasm is nothing more or less than faith in action.”
    - Henry Chester.

      Enthusiasm is nothing
more or less than faith in action .
     Dynamism and zeal to bring
      on every implementation.

     Enthusiasm guides in each step.
     Confidence in activity
will always lead , not to escape.
     Devotion is priority.

     Enthusiasm won't allow to
    put you on dark despondency
    Disappointment won't engross you.
Stay strong , firm not under mercy.

       Enthusiasm is the pivot
       of your attempt and performance,
       keeping competent on each spot
       and under any circumstance.

       Enthusiasm is prime asset.
not to decrease at any rate
rather giving boost at its best,
Always prompt to act, never late.

Title 4/ Enthusiasm
Quote: Enthusiasm is nothing more or less than faith in action. - Henry Chester

Prayers and praise, still as the night,
Sense of joy in the soft moonlight,
A song that time cannot replace.
Eager souls are blessed by His grace.

Hope blushes as the gospel sighs,
Gentling spirits with psalms so wise,
Wonders remain in faith’s embrace.
Eager souls are blessed by His grace.

Praising the One who made us whole,
We rejoice as He heals our soul.
One day, I hope to see His face.
Eager souls are blessed by His grace.

Enthusiastic, since He lives,
My heart believes in love He gives.
Worshiping is sure to take place!
Eager souls are blessed by His grace.

Enthusiasm, a fickle friend,
Illumining the soul, or chasing an end.

A trumpet call to start the race,
Run with heart, or without a face.

Honoring the master’s call alarming,
Or setting the ego dog to barking.

A sailor’s wishing for the wind’s gifting,
Or a soul’s salve in the stars twinkling.

Enthusiasm entices in all its guises,
A forest of virtues as well as vices.

When Apollo's prowess gleamed,
Cupid's arrow deceived
A hero's budding heart,
Fate's victim,
Among the leaves.

Aspire to enthusiasm's enduring aims,
Our Halcyon spirit to exceed the waves.

Premium Member I Am Your Enthusiasm

I am your enthusiasm
That helps you learn a new thing.
I am your hand mirror
Beholding you on a bright morning.
I am your sandals
That caress your soft soles.
I am a whispered prayer
Hanging while you doze.
I am your blanket
Keeping you warm at night.
I am your luck that flies by day
To make things go right.
I am the one in your life
Who stays near and keeps you -
If only you knew.

Premium Member She Was Born With Enthusiasm

She knitted her happiness into a long yellow brick road
The rest of the knitters clicked along beside her
Trying to catch up
But her enthusiasm had overtaken the garden
It oozed down the block and over the hedges of life
How does she do it? Some of the other knitters asked
Clicking their needles as fast as they could,
Trying their best to keep up
Her optimism ran over into a stream of yellow gold
It is her attitude, the fey whispered
They may never catch up
She was born with this enthusiasm
