Beneath the Dunes

A world that once was. Is no more. Scattered shards of culture, lie dormant beneath its ruins. 
Waiting to be discovered, then discarded by those who would deny.

Future traveler's mingling with the past. Contaminating  mankind’s storyline.
Weaving webs of endless possibilities and our beginnings.

Savages turned scholars who’s knowledge of the heavens surpasses our own
Temples align

Sand Dunes

                               Driving through the desert vast
                   

Dune Perdue

    Updraft lifts limbs, leaves scurry like mice exposed
    Mother Nature shakes shorebreak, incline imposed
    Gnaws at sand buried tree toes gnarled, spit polished 
    Hourglass chamber sugar dwindle, dunes demolished


    Churning chant casts a melancholy spell, people powerless

All day long she used to sing tunes.
Now they found her body in the dunes.
She was not skilled,
now they found her body, she was killed.

Raped stabbed and a slit throat,
maybe she followed the wrong road.
There will be no more singing tunes.
They found her body in the dunes.

December Dunes

Dear December,  forgive my silence, 
I'm tired of singing to the moon,
watching the sea swallow flaming rays,
cloaked in shame, am I to take the blame~
dragging clouds of doubt with silver shadows cast?
I never knew words could weigh heavier than dancing diamonds.
Yet, tonight I gaze beyond trembling skies;
perhaps, in their liquified state, metaphors do flow.

Little Doll Lost In the Dunes

In a realm of a childhood dream,
Where joy and wonder reigned supreme,
Lay a much adored doll, so small and sweet,
With porcelain skin, dressed in a cute dress, so neat.

Her eyes, like stars, sparkled bright,
Her lips pursed with innocence, red in the light.
She was cuddled and carried to the beach side,

Sand Dunes

The shape of sand dunes on the beach,
Shows the patterns etched by the sweeping wind,
Walking on the beach on a windy day,
I feel how my life changes with the emotions every day.

The drifts and mounds on the sand hill,
Waiting to be shaped and reshaped by the surf and wind,
The valleys and hills of my feelings,

Sea of Dunes

The sun was newly risen above the Earth
his heated smile warmed amber desert sands.
The grand landscape resembled barren lands
as sepia grains were slathered by rippling waves
That's what I would see through blurred vision,
the hallucination of turquoise rivers in a mirage

but bore no trace of boat, of

Upon the Deserts of Damnation

Behold! 
Where is it no mortal soul fathoms to dare?
The foretold detestable dunes of despair!
Whose sands of crystalline luminescence 
Drown and drain thy essence. 

Far within that redolent tomb 
Hidden deeper inside the heavens moon, 
Where the souls of the damned unwillingly swoon 
Slaves to the sin that fathered their doom.

Dune

Ever moving
The migration by wind and water
As the sands shift with time
Changing the face
The feel
The look.
As sea laps, wind blows
Longshore drift
Collect
Deposit
Ever moving sands
Passing us by
Marking time
Ever soft and smooth
Nature abhorring a vacuum
Growth and life
Migrating
Evolving
Flourish and wilt
Flower and dieback.
Fixed to an ever-moving
Ever changing due. Clinging to the lip of the sea.

On dawn skies, peaches
drifting by sable shadows
at coastal sand dunes
Precious gold between my toes
Blue roses on the wild sea

Fading stars, sequins
Turquoise at the horizon
Citrine golden hour
of the fresh breath of the wind
and the gemmed birds uprising
