The Adventurer

The Adventurer

I don't know any famous people maybe I have met famous people who keep their fame hidden like Madonna who lives in Lisbon, near enough for me to say if someone who doesn't know the place, Madonna is my neighbor.
I know of a man who has been living in Laos and Vietnam for some time, he paints a wonderful picture of the people, wort's and all and he drinks beeraloo cold from the freezer
When I was young and a seaman, the problem was when
The ship birthed was to get time off from work to explore the hinterland and not sit in a down-at-heel bar
drinking with whores, waking up in a pink-painted room
worrying about venereal illness and if the dick is falling off. Going back onboard in the morning light feeling
absolutely pissed off facing another day of long hours and in the evening settling for a book, reading pages upon pages not concentrating, sighing, putting shoes on, and walk
back to the bar with garish colors and cheap perfume.
I swear, I will pack a bag with all my medicines, go to Laos and drink beerallo and eat real food, and be charmed by naturally gracious women

An ageing yet droll cockatiel,
Had plumage a bit down at heel,
He performed a sad song,
And the flock sang along,
For they knew his rendition was real!

Sea of True

All this while things will be better
That is what we heard from our forefathers
Exactly from our elders
In our turn, the same thing on the button
When will we stop this affliction?
Africa cessation power from the
White to have full control of their country
Everyday Billions of money is going out
We only heard of it
Without know it payback
Our companies die down of token amount
Our schools is shack
Lantern to light
Our roads is down at heel
We own fuel yet we are still
Suffering for it
Poverty rampant the country
Derelict house is unaccountable as well as vagrant
Everyday they are receiving medals for serving their country
With all their might
Yet it is lie upon lie
They are riding exotic cars and living in mansion
They are using the interest of all as their own gain
When will you stop putting your people in dangers?
Very soon you will fall, you that are
Taint to our nation
The sea of true is as high as mountain
No matter how fast your lie can run

My Favourite Shoes

New shoes bought at great expense, soft and supple leather,
Sturdy heels with non slip soles, fit for any weather.
One may declare without a doubt
These shoes are surely strong and stout.

Shoes that know just when to dance, when to walk or run.
Shoes that given half a chance, stride out to have some fun.
They’ll take you where you want to be
And bring you back; or set you free.

Handmade shoes that last for years, and travel many miles,
Crossing bridges, strolling lanes, through the fields, and over stiles.
O’er life’s great map still tramping on
To see the world before it’s gone.

Time marches on, by its side, these shoes keep up the pace.
They’re old and scuffed, down at heel; in fact, a right disgrace.
But throw them out, I could not do
For comfort is a worn old shoe.

The Vagrant

A wanderer, I stray.
To hills and valleys, far away.
Closed doors and gate, my fate.
No ID or certificate.
A vagrant is an unwanted guest.
To prison send the pest.
In the next town you'll find work
Do they take me for a jerk!
Home and wife, lost at the dice.
Through ignorance, I paid the price.
Is there a place I can show my face?
Rejoin the human race.
Maybe someone will ask me in.
Give me work, and a grin.
Frosty faces all around.
Not a murmur, not a sound.
Suddenly, all at once they shout.
"ON YOUR WAY". "GET OUT".
I'm down at heel, and need a meal.
Guv'ner, gimmy a deal.

Comments.
I am told that in America and elsewhere.
Vagrants are targeted for mugging.
And even killing by youths.
Because they have nowhere to live.
These people need sympathy and help.
Please help them. It could be you.
