A fonder heart

They say
Distance makes the heart grow fonder
But distance makes the heart forget
Distance drives a wedge between us
The miles, so many, makes me regret

They say
Distance makes the heart grow fonder
And what if it's too late
Our tenderness can't be stretched longer
Holding hands through a locked gate

Distance makes the heart grow fonder
What they meant is that our hearts will wander
It will all soon fade again
But will we forget?

Penny For Your Thoughts

It all started that one autumn evening
Wind blowing by my hair and tree leaves rustling
Echoing over my warm laughter
With yours blending in.
As the tinge of sunset hues reflected in your eyes
Like they did in mine
Perhaps I should've said it then
Or maybe after we left the ice-cream parlor
Or the cinema, the internet café,
The restaurant or even the amusement park
I guess you noticed
But again you couldn't possibly have.
I'd trade it all for you
For memories that would never grow old like autumn trees
I'd love to relive all our moments.
Guess I really should've said it
Maybe I'd still be making photocards with you under the warm sunlight gaze
Its now winter
My nights are longer and my heart is colder
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder
But perhaps my string of fate isn't tied to yours
If I'd said then that the one thing I can't trade
Is my reality for yours
Maybe, just maybe
I'd have someone as sweet as you to ask me
"Penny for your thoughts?"

Distance makes the heart grow fonder;
I prefer you over yonder.
If you get the urge to wander,
opportunities to squander,
find another place to launder.
Maybe once just stop and ponder
        why your life’s this way.

On a Boat Far Away

You're on a boat

Far

Away

Past the water flowing beneath, and its constant companion, the grandeur of the surrounding canyon

Past the beautiful lands, towns, warmth and

People

Past the vastness of both star and ocean, home and way of life.

They say,
Distance makes the heart grow fonder

I disagree.

Far

Away

Past remembrance of a moment and the capacity of the mind

The mind forgets...

Past the ability of human connection sparked through the power of a smile

Far

Away

Distance makes the heart grow stronger, they say

How is that so when there will be no way or time for it to grow?
Stuck, kept, to hold only the snow
Not enough time...

I wish to understand, to know who you are, to grow a connection through the spark of our smiles and laughter, to...

But you're on a boat

Far.

Far.

Away...

Goodbye My Love

I CAN FEEL YOUR HEART BEAT.
I CAN TOUCH YOUR PULSE.
"LUB-DUP, LUB-DUP".
WE GOT CLOSE.
WAITING FOR CLOSER.
REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU MAY FEEL,
YOU SHOULD SHOW ME THAT YOU APPRECIATE MY LOVE AS YOU WERE WILLED.
WE KISS, WE TOUCH, AND WE FIGHT.
THEN MAKE UP.
DO THIS OVER AND OVER BUT NO MORE
GAVE YOU MY HEART AND MY SOUL, MY EVERYTHING.
THEN IT WAS GONE ALL IN ONE SECOND.
HOW EVERYBODY WAS ASKING.
WHAT HAPPENED
HOW’D IT HAPPENEN.
NOW IM ASKIN
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
THEY WANTED TO SEE US TOGETHER,
HAPPILY EVER AFTER
I WISHED THAT TO
UNTIL I REALIZED
THAT’S NOT WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO.
YOU MOVED.
YOU LET OUR LOVE DRIFT.
AND IF DISTANCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER,
THEN LET IT KEEP OUR HEARTS FROM WANDER.
AS I LOOKED IN YOUR EYES.
I SEE THE REAL YOU.
THAT’S IS HINDED INSIDE
AND THAT’S WHY I AM THROUGH
ALL THE TEARS I CRYED FOR YOU,
IT DIDN’T GO THROUGH.
I HATE TO WALK AWAY.
I LOST YOU ANYWAY.
BUT I MUST SAY GOODBYE MY LOVE
