Disinfectant Poems

Premium MemberThe Passing

The vet had been sympathetic in his demeanour
as I gently placed my beloved Shih Zhu
on the sterile stainless-steel table amongst the fumes of disinfectant.
My emotional support pet was shivering uncontrollably with fear.
It took him two days to pass away peacefully.

He was two days in passing—reluctant to give up the good fight—
brave as always when I had supported him during past emergencies.
Life is not lived in a sterile environment—perfumed with expectations—
at times my Shih Zhu had tested my love for him with his antics.
The vet had been clinically detached in his assessment as I hid my fears.

a soul less killer dies

he didn’t blink
when the light caught his face—
just stared like a dog too long in the rain.

no prayers,
no cries,
no family on the concrete bench.

he killed for sport,
like swatting flies—
and still the world made room for him.

the guards were tired,
the chaplain bored.
death smelled like disinfectant and steel.

he coughed once.
then again.
then silence.

nobody wept—
not even the devil.

To Angelina

I'll show you everything I love,
Everything that has built me up.
I'll show you all my safeties
And all the things that have held me.
I know you will keep them
With the most delicate respect.

And anything that is hidden
I will dredge up from the trench
Because we cannot understand each other
Until we've seen each other's wounds.
I want you to know where I come from.
I want you to know the molds that have formed me.

I'll shoot myself with Cupid's d#mn bow.
I know you'll care for the aftermath.
You shot yourself with it first,
And we are each other's disinfectant.

Thank you.
I love you.
I cannot believe my luck.

The Apathetic Generalisation

why do we not hate our self more
a nudge of a beaker taken out of the fridge
its a big red button
we call it switch

my train - of-thinks
all us trying to be someone else
i'm just trying not to be me

grab your money tight
it will burn quicker
in the suns might
every billion
could be split
a million ways
children dying everywhere
anywhere is too close
Politicians dancing while its people die
some starting fights
with their brothers
and don't get me started
my arm still hurts from disinfectant shot
Aliens are checking to see if we have died yet

To a Germ-Spreading Hand Shaker

Why those clammy hands of lasting grief
For an owner of a handkerchief?
Then, you are a forgetful kind,
Who few things keep in mind.

A full right I have to know
Or fully annoyed I shall grow
The last careless contact by your hand
Now, about to unleash microbial harm.

Why not often The Disinfectant
By you thought rather exorbitant?
A clogged left nostril you’re picking
And my fingers I’d be licking
After your palms against mine sticking
And in the end a time bomb ticking?

Premium MemberMy Crisis Years Ago

This happened to me twenty-two years ago. I thank God I am still alive.

I feel the ripple in my life's cycle,
impending risk that could rape my soul.
I look in the mirror, but no tears flow.
A virus cramps my shallow feelings,
an ominous glare that obscures.

The pungent smell of disinfectant
the impersonal looks of nursing aides,
the indifference of certain medics,
the fearful looks of other patients,
the smell of living death.

The surgeon comes,
examines,
prods,
feels
listens.
Like an auctioneer's hammer,
going, going, gone.
The verdict is announced,
a triple by-pass,
serious but operable.
"Don't worry, man!"

I look up at the wall
that surrounds my cell,
and see Him hung
on old worn wood.
Is it so difficult, Lord, to die?
Am I on my own in here?
Will I survive?

A tear trickles slowly down my cheek,
but now my inner self is lit.
I wake up from my stupor.

Life is a pattern,
mapped 'til our death,
but no man walks alone.
I smile,
I receive faith.
A glow illuminates my soul.
Tomorrow I may be dead,
but I am sure, Sweet Jesus,
I will survive, for meekly
I accept Your will.

Premium MemberA Storm In My Brain

I grope in the dark recess of my soul.
Where could I be?
Am I in some sort of terrifying coma?
Gasping, I smell a disinfectant,
found only in hospitals.
All around is darkness. And silence
broken only by something ticking,
a sort of rhythmic measure
that never stops. It hurts.
I feel the pounding of a headache.
No one seems around.
What's happening here?
Can someone explain this mysterious silence?
I scream but no one hears.
Not even I can hear. But I can feel.
I must be awaking.
Listen to the ticking machine.
It seems to echo my heart.
Eons after eons pass.
Then I hear soft footsteps.
But my eyes won't open.
Then I remember.
My eyes are bandaged.
An intervention urgently performed.
The pain increases. Madness.
A jab, and I am smothered into further darkness.
Silently I scream.
But no one, not even I hear.

Missed Russia at Olympics

Stop me God

Devil come on up
but bring the crown
Universe stop me from this

A man with nothing but fear
never gonna be human

Can Anyone Equal God

Can anything be more melodic than nature?
Birds, insects, wind, water, air
All amazing instruments of nature
Music continues unabated

Can anything be more beauteous than nature?
Trees, mountains, birds, insects, sky, water
Beautiful, colourful, bright and enchanting
Scenery keeps changing continuously

Can anyone be more perfect than God?
Every body part of all living beings carved to perfection
Eyes have outer skin, eyelashes, eyebrows and are sunken
Further salty water (natural disinfectant) keeps cleaning non-stop

Can anyone be more loving than God?
Still, we spend our day thinking of selfish humans
Shame on us!

Zero Chances of Making It To Zero

If I was making book,
I would not have far to look,
As making it to zero carbon would be first in the book,
With plenty of fools to be took.

If I wanted to expose a big fat lie,
Zero waste would be another sure thing,
I could look at before I die,
If honesty was my thing.

My third sure thing in my book,
To expose another lie,
That is spreading everywhere you look,
As zero crime will never be a thing.

If I was setting a realistic target to upset a book,
99.99 % would be a better look,
If you want a sustainable lie,
A little disinfectant will make it a sure thing.

A Beseeching Moment

It's time for a dose of disinfectant
Cleaning both house and home as expectant
Someone get the bleach
I plead and beseech
But not in the arm as an injectant

Premium MemberOld Fashioned Christmas

It’ll be an old fashioned Christmas,
with Santa due down the chute.
I bet he Purells his reindeer,
and Lysols his hazmat suit.

It’s an old fashioned Christmas.
We’ll all have on our masks,
and our muffled yuletide carols,
will be just like seasons past.

We’ll observe all the guidelines.
We’ll eat six feet apart.
We’ll have disinfectant under the mistletoe,
and keep safety in our hearts.

Sure, it’s an old fashioned Christmas.
One unique to the times.
The love this year might be careful,
but the feelings are genuine.

Premium MemberThe Driver His Dog and Dodge

Driver drove down dark dewy dirt road,
Despite the deer crossing sign displayed.
Drowning donuts in coffee,driving deliriously.

Dog Daisy, in the rear is demanding dog food.
Driver doesn't decide to give into demands.
Drool dropped on the back seat, disinfectant was,
desired on designer dodge seat, a real disaster.
Disappointment, dismay and disapproval loomed
on the remainder of the dreary despicable trip.
