Counselled Poems | Examples

Premium Member Childhood memories

the world a playground
parents arms our nest
school was fun too
barring the weekly test

measles and mumps
mother tended with care
flame of love vibrated
heart vibrant and aware

our fontanel was open
we communed with God
but when we shared this
we but got a careless nod

we knew then we are soul
encased in body-mind
it took time to realise
to truth others were blind

counselled by elders
light of our soul became dim
taught to be street smart
God called but we forgot Him

looking back we now see
it was as meant to be
even though we seem bound
our soul is always free

Marital moods and signals

If green, go share-- the room and bed,
Yellow, pillow separated,
If signal shows orange,
The bed is what you change,
Red, change the very room
To save your soul from doom,
As signals you must learn to dread.

Once counselled a marriage expert
Advising me to be alert.
But I do rather feel,
That a man should just deal
With red that might him the most hurt.

Premium Member An epiphany

As
silence
gentled mind
way past midnight,
bliss magnetism rose
gripping heart in delight
and as I sat transfixed thus,
I was wonderstruck to behold
God’s presence, visible in clear sight;
bright, soft white light, radiating kindness.

He took my hand and counselled me gently,
whilst at the same time erasing sin,
being misdeeds of my dark past
and wishing me well in life,
bestowing His blessings,
as Father to son;
which I imbibed,
grateful for
touch of
love.

Self-Existent Light

Clumsily checked for the switchboard to put on the light
whence I suddenly caught a ghost at mirror sight;
Promptly like a lizard I hugged the wall really tight
which modestly stood startled toward my right;
Fretting and sweating I counselled my might
for the sake of convincing the spirit dressed in white;
And somehow tactfully managed to flee away from any horrific bite.
Ouch, somewhere deep within my insight
embers slowly kept leaping forward to ignite;
Now while sitting down to write the experience met tonight~
I realized abruptly that it's all nothing but self- existent light! (conscience)

Tunnel of light, takes us straight home
We rise through the funnel
Counselled within the wisdom dome
Love, without rebuttal

Life after life replay
Love divine has its say
We learn, we grow, we pray

Golden hue bright
Tunnel of light

Premium Member To Have and To Hold

For years you have comforted and loved me, advised and counselled me
You have stood by me, stood up for me, prayed for and believed in me
I have admired you, been inspired by you, and often surprised by you
For no special reason, come here my love, and hold me in your arms
No birthday, no special holiday, no anniverary, and no bad news
No one has been harmed, and let there be no cause for alarm
If it's not too much to ask, I need to be held in your arms

She Is An Angel

She is an Angel.

Ceraphic chants among us hum,
She has compassion for the poor,
Yes,she truly is an angel.

She experienced a "call within a call",
To serve the poor,sick,vulnerable,
She has compassion for the poor.

Vocal proponent of Albanian independence,
Mother Teresa, from a well of family sacrificed,
To serve the poor,sick,vulnerable.

Counselled other nuns to create a community of angels,
Took vows to a life of poverty, chastity, obedience,
Mother Teresa from a well of family sacrificed.

Angelic kids in innocence glow,
Mother to destitutes, needy and good to all,
Took vows to a life of poverty, chastity, obedience.

Heavenly beings are fond of her,
Ceraphic chants among us hum,
Words are droplets of honey and care,
Yes,she truly is an angel.

Family

My Father at the head of the table, carving the meat,
My Mother brings the vegetables, wiping her brow from the heat.
Sunday Roast Dinner, the memories so clear,
A family together, every Sunday of the year.

All week I'd been looking forward to our Sunday together,
Brothers and Sisters turn up, no matter the weather.
Now I pass on this gift to my own family,
That they enjoy the ritual that's so important to me.

A time for conversation, to be counselled and grilled,
The laughter and humour where good banter is filled.
Dad's kind face, is crimson with mirth,
Tapping his belly and complaining of the girth.

Mother so interested in how we're getting on,
Teasing amongst the children, requests for a song.
The smell of the roasted bird fills up the room,
Anticipation of Mother's crumble, custard and spoon.

Family all together is so important to me,
Sitting round the table with such happy memories.
The wine it does flow and work forgotten for a day,
May the tradition continue, the love of a family stay.

Premium Member Halloween Warning

I knew an old woman
Who flew round the Moon
Wore a tall pointed hat
And rode on a broom

She dressed all in black
Wore arrow-tipped shoes
Had a nose like a hook
Smelled always of booze

The kids on my block
And kids there were many
Thought her eccentric
Called her "Dear Granny"

One Halloween night
I remember the year
She counselled me "Boy
They've plenty to fear

I love little kids
Little kids are life's breath
But on All Saint's Night
I love them to DEATH"!

When I heard her words
I ran like the wind
Yelling! Telling
My friends to stay in!

"You've heard of a witch
Who flies round the Moon
Wears a tall pointed hat
And rides on a broom

Is dressed all in black
Wears arrow-tipped shoes
Has a nose like a hook
Smells always of booze?

It's GRANNY DEAR GRANNY!
I'm talking about
She's flying tonight
So all WATCH OUT!"
