This night, I only smiled.
My face a cherub's joy.
I, my mother's daughter,
sought to sate my hunger.
What life might I slaughter?

This night, I only smiled.
Blood-red, my spewing lips,
luscious from the fresh kill,
dripping with newborn life
and careful not to spill.

This night, I only smiled.
A daughter of the night,
my mother's precious pride,
delicate and refined.
Dracula's latest bride.

This night, I only smiled.
Not heard, but only seen.
Quiet and lady-like
in heels, hat, and white gloves,
contriving my next strike.

Loch Ba

With clouds dispersing above Loch Ba,
to where would we go? And just how far?
We followed the track for more than two hours
listening to birds enjoying the flowers:
meadow pippit, willow warbler
curlew, lapwing and skylarks,
bog asphodel and milkwort,
ragged robin and lousewort,
plenty of pignut and wild thyme.
The remembrance has more value
than contriving a rhyme!
Around us the trees alder and oak
contorted old rowan and birch
all covered in lichen and mosses.
After lunch we returned along the shore
with grebes, geese a raptor and so much more.

Premium MemberMystique of a Tale

Disney take on the Fox and the Hound
Where two pups form a bond so profound.
Naive to concede
The strife of their breed,
Delicate friendship is doomed to fail.

With hunting dogs don’t let your guard down,
Don’t buy into the fox and the hound.
Poignant puppy eyes
Are traps in disguise,
With snarled teeth onto red bushy tail.

With foxy folks don’t let your guard down,
Don’t buy into the fox and the hound.
Conniving and sly,
Contriving a lie,
Fox fights fierce for its life, tooth and nail.

Disney bond of the Fox and the Hound
In a real world yet to be found.
Big Mama’s advice -
Owl symbol of wise -
Leave it to the mystique of tall tale.

Premium MemberAn Ocean of Stars

We cling to rocks in the oceans
like ants aboard a rotting corpse;
feeding off a decaying heart;
oblivious to its demise.
Warring over choice carrion,
contriving bigger colonies
on the disintegrating flesh;
slowly consuming the life raft.
Soon, all that will remain is sea;
blue sphere in an ocean of stars.

Premium MemberFaithless Feelings

It didn’t happen at the right time
I wasn’t his – he wasn’t mine
But, despite the dangerous passion
Fires ignited and we felt the longing
For the dance, - taking a chance
Uncertain and unsure, burdened
With shame, guilt and humiliation
All the feelings that come from carrying
A torch for someone whose heart
Isn’t vacant, whose love is already taken

It didn’t happen when we were free
So we left each other with only a feeling
Emotions that colored our lives in hues
Forbidden love, constrained our desires
Snuffed out the fires that stirred inside
Erasing every doubt that we could share
Our hearts, our dreams, our hopes…
The beauty of a love, vulnerable and true
Exposing only the joy that comes from knowing
The wonder of two hearts uniting, contriving
To build a life for two – share our dreams with…

Someone in the heart – who is loved fully
With a love that only comes alive for those
Who listen to the soul stirring light, the yearning
Breathing, aching… for love that is making
Two hearts feel more alive than any feeling ever has!

A Plane Flat Earther Reminder

                                  This is merely my suggestion

                                   I'm not contriving a rebellion

                                                Now then___

                           If you believe that Earth is downright Flat

                           Yell, "All aboard!" sit those buns on a train

                           But if your brains decide you guys are nuts

                           Admit you are dimwits get up on the plane!

A bustling presence doesn't infer inactivity.
Showing improvement with a crucial flurry.

Prance ecstasy embracing a harsh ignite.
Self-start binge; don't leave behind a Dwight.

With verve and enthusiasm and consistently in awe.
Work never finishes, and objectives won't ever overdraw

Poise unblemished, musings precise, cerebrum contriving.
Embrace morals and allow them to tackle directing.

Being significant, something to depend solely around.
It makes sense that progress is being found.

Concept Corrected and Connected and Brains Collected

in again had clocked
thoughts from my mind had been blocked
my brain tightly locked

concept corrected
mind with body connected
my brains collected

had been head scratcher
not ever virus catcher
be of sound stature

seen in state of shock
we had checked out cattle stock
chip off the old block

poem up contriving
did see bird which was diving
find more food striving

masks decomposing
them should be reimposing
properly disposing

when things went to waste
they will have done with much haste
did not meet our taste

books stored side by side
none of them will want to hide
read them all have tried

about quanon
always wished that it was gone
start a bright new dawn

a brief nap I took
read one more page in my book
about Trump being crook

on you God will grow
my Bible has told me so
did fight off each foe

ingenuity
should buy an annuity
in community

at wheel may have dosed
to virus we were exposed
whole house should be hosed

Premium MemberHow Smart Was That

Shebetheria was excited beyond excited.
Today was the first day she was able to conjure an elixir
Since she was released from the spell of the Dragon Maker.

She had made a mistake and accidentally turned his family
into squirrels and elves, and she had to forfeit six years of her life
to pay for this tiny mishap.

She began to toss her potions together, anxious to try ideas
she had been conjuring and contriving for the past six years.
The Dragon Masker stopped by to watch.

Any chance you could get my family back? He asked, hopefully.
She did better than that. She instantly turned him into a squirrel.
Not only can he join them now, but he cannot tell on her
or incarcerate her.

How smart was that? She asked herself.
A giant vision came out of the cauldron and laughed with her.
You are about to find out, a hollow voice said from the cauldron.
It was the Dragon Masker's voice.

Premium MemberYour Destiny Is Sealed

Your destiny is sealed

You have always been our loveless master
scheming and provoking our disaster
Spinning tales of Scylla and Charybdis
Concealing truth so it could not uplift us

Contriving stories hiding true wisdom
Justice will be served when you're imprisoned
Disguise yourself as God while casting stones
but in the end your charade will be known

You weave your legends of god's immortal
but truth will break your shackles of control
You are just a hideous imposter
Who would want to worship such a monster?

Apocalypse' veil will  be revealed
By God's command your destiny is sealed

Impassioned Decline

At the shrinkage of the page
Expressions plead for length
Inhibition imposed on lines by columns
Words already accustom to scarcity
Pieces find focus in incompletion.

Thoughts flutter toward temples
Ready to leave prints on a canvass
Diving into ink, drying before depart
Leaving smudges with hints of beauty
Never a portrait to hold high.

Love found constancy through infatuation
Appearing in every attempt at honing
Shadowed by past excellence's remembrance
Exposing an unguarded diminishment
Appeased by external validation.

Truth distilled through repetitition
Emotional trials shared in nude
No longer enigmatic, too foreign to own
Complacent with the ease of flow
Mentally stalled by comfort's opposition to growth.

Time contriving towards finality
Longevity could not be imagined
A burnout, seen as a destination
Pieces threaded, undoing progress
Passion puckered away by a task, too daunting.

Distorted Emotions

There’s a deep passion in my painful yearning
as these sensations keep turning and churning.
It’s like a flame ignited with constant burning,
with my tormented mind completely discerning.

It’s my grief that awakens my tribulation,
breaking my tortured and plagued foundation.
Then I find no reason for sincere inspiration
with my pen and parchment’s innovation.

When will I succumb to ease of satisfaction?
With each anguished emotional reaction
I care for nothing except a disturbing infraction.
I need relief, some sort of sincere distraction.

So I lay on my bed and weep without ease
hoping with faith this suffering will cease.
I walk outside and feel the slight breeze
and abruptly fall to my unforgiven knees.

Agitation and frustration keep arriving,
there’s just no joy in my soul surviving.
My moods are flawed as they’re contriving
as these distorted emotions keep thriving.

Urban Sonnet - From Youth To Heaven

FROM YOUTH TO HEAVEN
~~~~~~~~~~~~
O the joys of youth, learning natures ways.
My desire, become more self-sufficient!
Natures larder, delights fill all its trays.
Each day I become much more proficient.
With learning, becoming more diligent.
Find many things in life belligerent
Why is life all so confrontational?
With nature, it's all about surviving.
With some, it is all institutional,
Purposely there has to be contriving.
Nature knows not a thing about lying.
The belligerent oft causing dying
I am now self-sufficient, loving life!
Nature now my allotment, my gardens,
where love grows without strife, found me a wife.
We work the garden, no beg your pardons.
Growing happiness, no need for wardens.
As we grow old our love, nature, hardens.
Once rural, old age moves us to urban
To a nice warm city, natures Heaven
Premium MemberHeat Strokes of the Heart
Heat strokes heart spoke
A beast a burden
What do you get when you sweat
You boast a glaring
A flaming cursed cardiac sensation
Heart loads of pleasure silky
Love strokes like a virgin
This love I can never ever
Get enough of
Measure for measure
Lightening flashes amorous
Enough love then trust
The sweat storming morning
Sighing I've tried and still trying I've
 tried contriving a more powerful love
Irresistible and conniving I swear
The allure is more than I can bear
Maximum effort different leverage
Heavy stokes scars I'm scared don't dear me
My throat is dry PARCHED
The SUMMARY OF MY SITUATION:
I'm weary and wondering
I'm wandering and leery fairly
I worry studying your attraction
You're flirtatious, you want action
This is the fiercest of burdens I seek to take
Pleasure in.
I'm lingering leaning on the door frame
Is this a game, the audacity of my shame.
I remember Her name as it begins to rain.
Premium MemberSailing With Winds That Blew On Blue
Defrocked yachts on moorings in the bay
Pull at tethers like dogs yearning for a walk
The ruffled blue waters, rippling white glary glints
Sea of sparkles, gentle tiny flashing lights like town twinkling at night.
Listen closely as the bobbling yachts creak, groan, rock and lilt
Whispering and murmuring sea shanties to each other.
Hoist the main, unfurl the jib
Drop the mooring rope, unleash the boat to sail.
Horses loves to run, sailboats loves to sail
Straining, heeling over, yielding to wind
But contriving to trick the wind to grab its power
To drive the yacht forward through the sea.
The waves are sliced through, and surface waters parted
As the sailboat flings delightfully forward
Relishing the sail, frolicking with crew
Sailing free on true blue waters
With true and steady winds, that blew and blew on blue all day.
