A thin line splits good from evil
between grace and the disgrace
between being the apple of God's eye
or ab ally of the devil.
It’s not etched in stones or scrolls
but marked in choices we make
blurred by thoughts we justify
and truths we’re too afraid to face.
We dress our sins in silence
and wear our virtues out loud
forgetting that heaven listens
more to hearts than to crowds.
So we walk this fragile border
stumbling between light and flame
hoping mercy weighs heavier
when judgment calls our name.
Wishes
Hot air of the mouth
Desires
Baseless notions riddled with doubt
I wait for you
I watch for you
Brave in life, coward in love
Send me a sign
Beacon of life from Above
And so is Below
Where feelings fester and grow
Beneath the surface of something intangible
Beneath the truth is forbidden fruit
Beneath my smile is longing for you
Beneath my joy are desires untold
Beneath my skulls fantasies unfold
How I long
How I wait
Another helping on my dinner plate
The indulgence, the greedy
This want, lust consumes me
Or is it love?
I ask of nothing
I expect even less
I sit in silent stress
Your life flows by
No but I'm waiting, watching
Hand in hand with time
As a patient soul, one could argue it is fate
One could argue I deserve another helping on my dinner plate
Or one could not
One could decide it is my time to wait and rot
One could accuse me of the greatest sin of all
Expecting the love of another without showing mine
I stall.
Emboldened by whispers,
echoes curdled in algorithmic rot—
electronic voices hiss their sermons,
venom soaked in coded politeness,
dripping beneath polished avatars.
Hate seeps
through curated feeds,
a slow infection
wrapped in memes,
seducing the young,
the angry,
the aimless—
until ideology feels like identity.
A curriculum of fear
streamed without consent,
etched into abandoned timelines,
where education once should have stood.
Now, only digital ruins remain—
barren soil
where thought might have grown.
This isn’t chaos.
It’s code.
Written to polarize,
to radicalize,
to dehumanize.
They teach with silence,
they preach with fragments,
they baptize with blame.
Their design is surgical—
not to inform,
but to fester.
Not to question,
but to conquer.
To crown the cruel
and cast the rest as fuel.
fear fell away from discussion
the inferior postulate
that anothers poetry
hath not free speech
beneath the scope
of obligation
of love
of love the mind
is left, desolate sound
and smut ridden apocalypse
is your pretense to burn
burning earth in chase of heroic confine
subjection, and of war crimes study
you have been charted
from paranormal disdain
congradulatory suffering
is you house furnished?
Seasons change, love remains; my heart stays soft.
In marital bond, your touch soothes the hard.
Though less gentle fondness falls from your mouth.
Through gale storms and glee, I have held my mouth.
In the autumn of our lives, I need soft,
lambent serenades to supplant the hard.
Each cycle through time has made your bind less hard.
Weathering me brought you down to your knees, soft.
Still no affinities fall from your mouth.
My lover's mouth, blustery and hard, be soft.
there once was a skunk named Pepé Le Pew
when he came near, well, everyone knew
Penelope, his chérie
to her, he was smelly
odorous advances met pooh pooh!
Contempt freezes the heart
refusal cools the soul quickly
makes love wither in life
This harsh light, back on you
Piercingly cruel aimed
Is of no sun, though it burns
In heart, as hot yes?
And however thickly
Shaded, walled off are
For protection, there's just no
Hung bough, cloister, right?
Unless counter-eying bright!
Love's, for that loveless!

Cookie cutter words so
carefully cut and pasted
on me are simply wasted.
Their relevance defunct
so silent deaf and mute
someone else’s route.
This romances brevity
couldn’t even warrant
a freshly cut torrent.
Thoughts on you only
today are freshly writ
not from another’s skit.
Your cycle oft repeated
new color same game
please shame and blame.
Faded far from view
a barren desolate land
this love’s final stand.
Pain is public domain
burn your copyright
cliché it into firelight.
Blank page tattered torn
crumpled piss-stained
empty promises drained.
Program pre-recorded
tired hackneyed phrases
sung too long the praises.
“the lady doth protest
too much” said Hamlet
then she knew her fear
just ask Shakespeare.

I’m thoroughly surprised
you chose the brocade
over chiffon
my dear
poking at the
brie
only serves to show
insolence and ignorance
and the violins
give me
such a headache
such a migraine
jacketed like a
caterpillar in its
cocoon it’s
no wonder
it’s difficult to
breath in this
stagnant setting
this tomb of a
room we share
but you knew
before the steaks
were cut that
even the open
window wouldn’t
clear this air
didn’t you?

Oh the venom on these lips
cold fury should you
taste it there. Drink
deep my gathering gloom
quench your thirst for
my lies and my truths
and my muted thoughts.
Stand still frozen dead
in pools of wonder and
dread for this poison
that seeps into your
pores will not soon
leave the haunted spaces
your frightened places
there will be myriad traces
where it killed the
wonder it found in your
dull and dreary mind.
Choke on toxic thoughts
vomit my musings and
spit forth guts colored
black with doubt and
fear and torment stain
the ground with your
loosened purpose your
pathetic beliefs that
words are always intentions
of the noble and righteous.
The quandary of physics…
a tool to divide
A slave to its master,
alone to misguide
Capable of function,
but never intent
An eye without vision
—and blind with contempt
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2019)
Familiarity Does Breed Contempt
Contempt can often be bred by familiarity,
And an ideal environment appeals to parity;
We tried to find,
But left behind,
Fear from despair they created by disparity.
