The searing sun has long been a revolving revelation of angst,
repelling songs of the skies, sung by the strings of the wings.
Pallid, poised only by muscle memory - a compositional backdrop,
past the point of revival, yet something inside me still ticks.
A trembling truth that never drifts,
these broken blues: a silent shadow with loud hues.
The bones of me, tunelessly picked out,
until I'm the aching hollow of unamplified sound.
Where do breathing colors of me sleep,
when deadly nights of the air eclipse upon the web once woven by whispers?
Death just a dropped chin and averted eye,
the slow slump of a sinner's stagnant dirge plays out.
Let those cobalt stones cease writings from vicious veins,
where wilting roses dip their thorns in starry puddles with no name.
Now begging for exsanguination of my pain,
the measure of a man captured, still, in expired offerings of disdain.

All was done before through eons and anew
Transitional, additional, compositional and true,
Tranquility resulted even after war
Hence never fear yesteryear for all was done before.
Though you maybe a product of ancestors who passed
And nurturance forged furtherance building up to last
Leaping all the hurdles, walking through and via
Journey of our paths in life existing due to prior...
Birthing, dying, all supplying evolutionary sources
Where playing parts flies and darts calculating courses,
Even though we'll never know what our maker has in store
I'm blessed to be simply me when all was done before.

Around us see May flowers, all in bloom
Let's gleefully start to shed Pandemic gloom
There's much less need to give each other lots and lots of room
Because no longer must we meet - if at all - on Zoom
Party times resuming now at stadia, beach and bars
While JPL's ingenious new 'AIRcraft' flies on Mars
While busy hands delineate panel lines and ailerons
Our minds note that May birthdays include cultural icons
Fred Astaire and Martha Graham still show us high-class dance
Mary Cassat and Katherine Hepburn represent romance
To writers, Margaret Fuller and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Inspire our own compositional toil
All wonder how far we'd go if we only really tried
To venture smart and curious, like NASA's Sally Ride
Closer to home, more immediately
This May includes two birthdays, each of 70
Unnoticed by Historians...that may be
but they're for Kenneth Murphy, and for me.

Structural bones uphold this canvas
A compositional portrait & sketch
Blue lines scroll pigments of rosy nude
With aesthetically pleasing facial cues
Freckles splatter the Irish genetics
While draped in feminine cloths of color
Hair is a red-dyed straight ponytail
Adorning features complete with silver

"I'm just a man who exist in mist of solitude
I contain problems that are logical not compositional
Many features appearing, the heart is where I speak from"
"When we talk there is spark enlightened to the parts
of my damaged heart
I love it when we relate to our named conversations
I wait patiently and face the mirror anxiously
I shake with momentary grace
When we are engaged with feelings of brave
And changed behavior
Music is what I live for
Hope we can finally meet
You deserve to be treated equally
As I'm speaking on everything we've been through
I knew we would be cool if I proved my truest Intention
Sorry for all the clingy messages sent
writing helps me vent
And you're smart
Expressively convey myself to you through my art
Refer my words to a beloved girl who deserves the world
Her name is Brookelyn,
Hope you're not looking for a guy because i'm hooked in
By the rhythm of your personal image"

La capinera's wintering pieces of tropic tunes
The garden warbler's echoes of dark melodies
Post-colonial poets return by summering fortunes
Learnt by rote as sacred Oxbridge duties

The French "pantoum" may be modeled on the Malay pantun,
or at least it may aspire to, but it does not adhere to its
fundamental compositional criteria. For the original prototype,

The poetic scheme of this poem I found very difficult. The plan was to combine three
elements of poetry:
Iambic pentameter, alliteration and assonance, following this precise sequence throughout
the twelve verses and ending with an iambic pentameter couplet. The scheme is as follows:
A=iambic pentameter
B= alliteration
C= assonance
ABCABCABCABCAA
The elements of poetry are vast.
They are constituents of a composite entity.
A poets usage depends whether he or she
has need for verse necessitating scheme.
In this poem my planned blueprint is to
combine three of these contrasting elements
together forming feet- unstressed and stressed
and alliterative verse along with assonance
in this specific order and compositional ordeal.
This group of verse became triadic tools
needless to say, needful contrivances
for the success of the sequential scheme.
The poems conclusion follows couplet rules:
The dual verses, meter, rhyming tools.
