a chilly perked coffee tale
cube clinked icy beans prevail
cool refreshing sip
summer fellowship
a brewed journey never fail.

Where the ice gnaws a brook,
black Ash trees sink waist-high
in the smoking frost.
A chill wind chatters,
my dark coat flaps
like a rook's shadow.

chicago cuties
tangerine days of summer
when noon redbird sings
cool burst of sunshine
from the fridge of hot august
its dream turned to dust
flowers are flaunting
crisp tomorrows coming soon
orange sunset moon

I like to wander,
Wander where,
The landscape’s wild
And I can breathe fresh-air,
Where the modern world
Can be kept at bay,
Where my anxiety and cares
Seem to melt away,
In fact, I think,
I think ….
I’ll stay.

Cold Chilled Weather
Cold weather turned gloomy
Dark grey clouds hiding Sun.
Monotony to run
Absolute dull to me.
Chilled breeze blowing random.
Snowy shivering Winter
took steps to enter.
Pale Sun shining seldom.
Drizzling snow flakes: Brittle.
All snow around outskirts.
Frosty weather hit heart.
Wishing warmth a little.
Bold cold too lengthy night.
Quivering under quilt!
Is Winter feeling guilt!
Dear! Come closer, embrace tight.

The “Christmas Freeze” of ’83 left Mom’s prize Oleander wilted
Bemoaning its demise, her heart gave way in the backyard
Irony cast its spell in spring and revived the Oleander...
If only it could have done the same for Mom

Jane's moods were troubling; they drove her insane
They shifted hourly, in sunshine or rain
Her doc gave her a pill
He said go home and chill
~ Climbed in the freezer, got ice on the brain

The ball of energy that is inside God,
Created the world in six days,
On the seventh day, pumped full of Adrenalin,
He mused in the heavens and plays,
The harpsichord, all covered in gold,
The lilting sound displays,
The mastery that is within a God,
The lasting sound a bouquet,
Of notes, in perfect tune,
That dexterously obey,
Lulling the God within,
To relax and enjoy the day.

Early November and it's cold
chilled not stirred down to my toes.
Ice crystals raise on the waterfall
no longer summer's autumn at all.
Yesterday green and flower appeared
today wind and frost it sheared.
What will winter have for us in store
as November takes on wintry roar?

Leaves giving gentle kisses to the ground,
Autumnal winds waking the sleeping trees,
A lover so gentle and kind, waiting.
But then everything is stripped to the bone.
White powder blankets, stripping all warmth
Look up, the naked trees shatter the skies.
Fall weakens us so winter can come through.
Heavy handed, red faced, freezing, shrinking.
Breathing out ghosts and burning them away.

Golden leaves falling gently to the ground
Making piles of them for children’s play
Waiting for winter to come ‘round
Chilled winds blow clouds to stay
Then a white surface
On hills and dales
Winter snow falls
And quietness
Surrounds
Me
