Discriminated India

India is a land of culture,

Where there people having faces of vulture,

India is a land of democarcy,

Where the people want to autocracy.

Rules are made against caste system,

Which have to face criticism,

But still it is not abolished,

Rather it is polished.

Caste system is the way to divide,

Between human and humane,

Such as brahimns,kshatriyas,

Shudras, Chandellas and Vaishyas.

We have to stop this practice,

What you know about about government tactics,

Equality is given to all,

It is only the development of all.

If I Ruled the World

I would abolish factories and end money
All would be farmers or artisans
Barter system I will introduce
In case of natural calamities,
nearby villages would have to help

I would plant lot of trees, just like primitive times
Houses would be made of mud and thatch
There would be Wells and borewel wells for water

All would be equal, no caste system
Males and females would be treated at par
Justice would be decided by community through consensus
All would have a right to participate

Pollution would end, food will be organically grown
All doing similar jobs, there would be financial equality
All would have to work to earn two square meal a day
Thefts and fraud would end automatically

Boys would come to girl's house after wedding, resolving lot of current issues
No electricity, people would sleep early
Animals would be killed only for food
All would be hard-working, healthy and happy.

This is my idea of perfect world
it makes me happy although it's imaginary
I wish it would come true

Premium Member A Brief History of the Land of Opportunity

A long time ago 'twas, ships set sail
For in England and on the Continent
Certain folks were doomed sure to fail

They were Puritans, the 'wrong religion'
Or hewers of wood, down on their role
Like drawers of water, low on the totem pole

They came to Massachusetts and sunny Virginia
Uncharted lands, filled with large dreams
Where they'd find a way for their plans and their schemes

Sadly, some died, in the harsh clutches of winter
Other pulled through, a-hunting and fishing
Planting maize and potatoes, Thanksgiving-wishing

They'd escaped the caste system that had kept them down
In "New England" they built farms, orchards, and towns

                          **********

Now the years have whizzed by, over 400 in all
We descendants no longer stand so proud or so tall
The caste system our ancestors fled has been replaced
By an equally cruel one, based on money and race

Dream

They say dream big and have lofty dreams
The inspirational gurus that is
Well, some people in America think it is a caste system
And some people believe in the American dream
Either way I think you have to work your butt off
I am a dreamer, a day dreamer
And a hard worker
Clawing my way to the top
In order to break through the glass ceiling

A Bucket and a Tent

America has no caste system
but America has castes.
Like every other nation

America has its rich and poor
with everyone else sardined
in tight rows in between.

But America doesn’t have
Untouchables, as some people
in India are called.

Yet in Mumbai and St. Louis
there are people who live in tents
and use a bucket for a bathroom.

In India, birth determines caste.
In America, color of skin
determines caste.

No matter how successful
black or brown Americans
may be, they remain

black or brown even when
they supervise pale folks
they otherwise might

never have to meet.
What’s in their wallets
matters not if pale folks

can't see beyond skin
that’s black or brown.
Ask any American of color.

Yet some people black and brown
from castes in other nations
drown on the way to America.

They believe they’re free
to earn a living here
and some of them

are doing that while
native Americans, both
dark and pale, survive on

Medicaid and food stamps
provided they’re poor enough
to qualify for one or both.

But even if they qualify,
some find themselves in time
with a bucket living in a tent.

History Repeats

Society! A sad state of affairs.
Corporate, owned. The stores pushing their wares.
Politics, ambiguous. No truth found.
Majority vote. Yet, the loser, crowned.
Divided we stand. The land is not free.
Upward you rise if you have the money.
Our brightest kids, dreams never realized.
Educations cost just too super sized.
Classism, racism drives caste system.
Open your eyes. Should be "us" against "them".
Social media, engendering strife.
Corrupt media, divides like a knife.
Another empire comes to a close.
You're warning. Revolution ended those.

The World Today

Why can`t it be like long long ago?
If we try we could save a bough.
An inspiration is all we need,
To do a good deed.

Why can`t we live together,
And stay like that forever?
Why do we steal ,
And think it is not a big deal?

Caste system! Why do we need it?
Can`t we be together for a bit?
It doesn`t matter- if you are a dame,
Nor, does your fame.

Lets discourage deforestation,
We must encourage afforestation.
Why to have a religion base fight?
Following a religion is everyone`s right!

Let us see, who is to be named?
As the ones to be blamed.
Well it is us- Man,
Is this what we plan?

Untouchable

We have our own caste system.
Our own way of separating
The elite from…everyone else
We have our own caste system.

We have our own Untouchables
Our own “acceptable” ways of showing disgust…
Towards those who aren’t pretty enough
Or thin enough
Or rich enough
Or successful enough
Or spiritual enough
Or smart enough
Or stylish enough
Or accomplished enough
To meet OUR standards…
We have our own Untouchables!

How do I know?
Because today I felt like an outcast
A failure
A good for nothing
A hideous creature
The lowest in society
In the religious congregation
In the work place
So I tried to hide
My ugly face
My outdated clothes
My pillowy arms
My tear-streaked face
My needy heart
From the perfect people
With the perfect smiles
And the perfect lives
Today, I was an untouchable…

You didn’t bother to touch my face
Or warm me with love
Or smile at me
Or give me a crumb of encouragement
Or look into my eyes
Or let me join your world
Or let me savor your success.

We have our own caste system.
I know…
For I am an UNTOUCHABLE!

Accepting Less.......

The world may be an oyster filled with tremendous possibilities,
yet, the Elitists among us are craven and want others to accept
less than they are accustomed to,
They harp and spew conspiracies of hate,
creating their own version of "blocking gate",

Our society has become divided,
victims of their snobbery,
trying to perpetuate a non-existent caste system,
with the debaucherous among us setting the scales,
They want folks to accept less,
leaving them no time to exhale,

These Elitists want the best of everything,
just because..........,
They have created niches for themselves
from the sweat of many,
They really have no claim to fame, except their
chicanery.

Nude

Ah, liberation-
from the knitted caste system
that has swathed my tan!
