Wind is blowing through the trees
Bluebird, are you in the breeze?
Have you come to comfort me?
To soothe my lonely heart? To see
Me smile because it's you?
I think I hear your wingbeat through
The bending of the leaves and branch
In everything you have carte blanche
I've made a nest for us to live
You relax now, let me give
You what I have, on bended knee
The music and the poetry
It's who I am, it's what I do
It's you I want to give it to

Premium Member Deja Vu

The turning wheels of time crush and rattle
life in the arena of strife fighting a constant battle,
I try to win rising from the dismal depth of ennui,
wonder if living is a wandering notion in time’s continuity.

I give my motivated avant-garde mind carte blanche
to make for me a metaphorical mask at least for once.
I wear it to act in the show of my life with elan,
and would secretly smile even after I am done.

I transcend the delusive time playing the part not new,
for I perform from familiarity under the spell of déjà vu.

Carte Blanche

To Israel Kamakawiwo, IZ

Tell him the sea has receded and the stars are jumping on its bare bed.
Tell him that history was a seagull hungering our names.
Tell him, if he is silent, if he isolates himself, God appeased the volcano,
 created for us this island.
Tell him that I wait for him under the almond tree, barefoot and still tousled,
with shimmering hoops. Hawaii, Izzy surfing clouds, playing ukulele.

Carte Blanche

The double checkout line made clear
That if you have a cart,
You join the people on the left
And help to do your part

To move the lines much faster.
If a basket you do hold,
The right-hand side is where you go;
The sign is big and bold.

So there I waited; in my basket
Three things I was buying.
My line was long but moving fast,
Most customers complying.

But naturally, a few spots up,
A woman did depart
From courtesy and manners,
For she pushed a filled-up cart.

No store employee sent her back;
Nobody reprimanded
And those of us behind her
Lacked the chops her move demanded.

Some people think that rules exist
But that they are exempt.
Such selfish rude entitlement
Deserves our best contempt.

Premium Member Honor Your Parents

Would you honor your parents? Don’t follow them blindly!
Don't carry their faults to your grave!
Give carte blanche to religion, deep-grained racial bias,
If your kids are ones you would save?

See the evidence clearly; all men are born sinners,
Some truths we can never escape!
No man born has all answers, take look in a mirror
(With ‘God’s acts’ too turned by land’s shape.)

You might trust their intention to make your life better
(But not if we sacrifice earth.)
It’s a gift to pay forward, invest in our future,
With energy focused on birth!

Oh! Imperceptible breeze looming mightier as you gather
momentum, before staking your claim as volatile manipulator
of all things.

the northerly hails
takes the power from the sun
dutiful clouds roll.

How vulnerable we become when your harnessless
‘carte blanche’ descends upon us, even nature herself pays homage
to your discriminating visit, while us you reduce to leaflessness
to spend each winter in raw distinction.

naked innocence’s
shivers in stark awareness
new birth on standby.

Only! Our friends the farm beasts
shun you, always ready to turn their rear ends towards your face in defiance
of your unabated violation, giving one a forewarning of which place
you cometh from.

with arms held out wide
catching all your wintry blast
a cock robin sits.

A Second in Court

A déjà vu to centuries past is just a quantum peak
to glimpse the courtly, avant-garde in session to critique
Baroque and Renaissance displays, pointing as they speak,
admiring slight anomaly that makes some art unique.
With ennui they gave no ear to a dilettante’s entreat
knowing only, it’s the king and queen’s élan you have to meet.
A cacophony of tongues gossiped outcomes so discreet,
stood waiting for the bona fide applause, “Oh magnifique!”
Royal people had carte blanche to make artists great or weak
sometimes not ever finding those with natural technique.

You crush to dust, my walls to see, the measure of my cold ennui,

Though I, a dilettante supreme, am bearing brash, a barren scheme -

Consign my love for HER, to you, so sweet you'll swear it's deja vu ...

Drenched in such elan and chic, that lust alone will blush your cheek.

Baroque and lush, that gilded lie, refurbished for a choice goodbye,

Oh, I have chiseled, fine and hard, to make deception avante-garde.

I'm faced now with anomaly, as YOU have turned the tide on me ...

In younger years, I spun my web, carte blanche as fit me, flow and ebb,

But now your virtues, bona fide, have plucked a touchstone deep inside ...

My pulse-less, pitied myths shall be, my justice ... guilt's cacophony.

Premium Member A Love Dilettante

As a certified, bona fide woman of a grown-up sixteen,
she light-stepped with grace thru the baroque castle.
She wanted to tell her Father of the déjà vu she gleaned
at last night’s élan party scene with a man who dazzled.
She gave her fantasies carte blanche to freely travel
for she was but a love dilettante, still romance green
and unsure what her anomaly feelings could mean.
She found the King, Father, leaning on an avant-garde mantel,
his manner ennui, despite the cacophony of swords at cavil.
Knowing her, he said, "No talk of new suiters, many already battle."

Success Story

An elegant baroque auditorium,
filled with bonafide audience,
awaiting for an eminent avant-grade maestro,
to hear his modern musical cacophony;
A fusion of ancient and modern magical tunes;
that makes the people feel pure elan and bliss
and he never makes his fans embrace ennui.
He was once an epitome of anamoly and failure's friend,
but a hardworking dilettente and was given carte blanche,
he exerted himself to prove him and now his success is a deja vu

Premium Member Fun With Ten Words Ten Lines

Deja Vu; I believe that's what knowing minds call this anomaly.
Another Baroque tinged ballroom boasting bona fide blue-bloods.
Poorly feigned elan for the singing dilettante causing the cacophony.
The ennui in the room due, I'm sure, to the
artistic Carte Blanche given the chirping dud.
It's time someone demonstrate "avant-garde;" give them an actual reason for the sneers.
So on my way out I'll loose this brassiere and with a toss add some "bulbs" to the chandelier!
