Living With the Wind

Oh! Imperceptible breeze looming mightier as you gather momentum, before staking your claim as volatile manipulator of all things. the northerly hails takes the power from the sun dutiful clouds roll. How vulnerable we become when your harnessless ‘carte blanche’ descends upon us, even nature herself pays homage to your discriminating visit, while us you reduce to leaflessness to spend each winter in raw distinction. naked innocence’s shivers in stark awareness new birth on standby. Only! Our friends the farm beasts shun you, always ready to turn their rear ends towards your face in defiance of your unabated violation, giving one a forewarning of which place you cometh from. with arms held out wide catching all your wintry blast a cock robin sits. © Harry J Horsman 2018

It is believed that animals are the first to sense the changes in Nature ! When a storm or cyclone occures they become alert and behave in a special way ! A beautiful haibun with fitting haikus ! Really enjoyed reading this, harry !

so glad i caught this one, Harry. Defiant animals & cock robin against The Wind, as all of you "spend each winter in raw distinction." Now this weather, to me, is enlivening ... if I didn't live on a farm, I'd settle for windswept places. Until I do!!

Love this descriptive write of nature's powerful force, Harry. During hurricanes here, it is the wind that causes most damage in my area, though rain creates flooding inland. I didn't know livestock turned toward the wind. Helpful information! I'm faving this as a reminder to read again now that Hurricane Season is upon us. Hugs, carolyn
