Said the Lobbyist
“It won’t cost much”
“But seriously”
Said the Congressman
“How much is too much?”
“But seriously”
Said the toddler
“do you not know what happens
“IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE”

It would seem , I guess, that maybe most people are just too manure for me. I mean mature for me. Nah, I got it right the first time!
But seriously, you want me to do what?
These words erupted out of a startled mouth
As with as much dignitary I could muster
I looked at him as though he was uncouth
The words that caused all this kafuffle
….. he wanted to holiday in the jungle of Peru
Travelling native, expected me to agree
without a murmur, well would you!!!!

This advert has caused the storm,
from a dry cosy room looks a pleasant idea
when dunking a biscuit in his coffee he slops
pictures look lovely and genuinely sincere
doesn’t show the rain that makes this jungle so
doesn’t show the wildlife, reptiles and giant spiders
cant run from these, nowhere to go
I read on the internet of its beauty and fauna
let me think about it was my reply
When my temper had cooled I said
Maybe we should give it a try
That’s good he said cos it’s all booked for and paid.

You drop your tears and I catch them all
Though broken I am I gave console
To thee endowed the smiles I could
For 'tis the most that you can hold.
We paint our world with brilliant hues
And glee in hearts I do imbues
Once your heart in pieces torn
I picked it all and build it on
We act like couples do
And people tease us too
But halt my friend and give me clue
For things in past can't be undo
And seriously
What are we?
Why does love dissipate and circle into greed?
An ugly foundation that has planted its seed.
Where all good deeds go unseen.
Emotions we hate to feel start to seep in.
But Seriously......
Why do we shut out what we so often need?
Leaving us stranded, with our hearts to bleed.
Feeding off this negativity, makes wounds hard to heal.
But Seriously, too many emotions make it hard to feel.
Knowing feelings are temporary,
Forever fleeting, rarely do they last.
As with the hands of time,
It continues to move forward all too fast!
But Seriously......
It Changes; like the seasons. Nothing stays the same.
But Seriously......
Love has its reasons for which reason knows not its name.
But seriously
Jackboots shiny black
Uniforms black they come
Cold dark devilish nights
With black hearts they come
Open the door move!
We submit no rights
They are feared, SS
My father’s eyes distress
Where you taking us can’t we choose ?
Shut up you are just Jews
Move like cattle get on the train
Swiftly on ignore the pain
My mom defiant couldn’t tame her
Me! I knew next stop, gas chamber
What's that smell ?
Fear! no hope just hell
But seriously, who can ever forget!

Welcome to our country, my foreign friend.
We're awful glad to have you living here.
Your freedoms now will seem without an end.
If you have suggetions, we'd love to hear.
We've got critics, so we have grown thick skin,
And we know to take the bad with the good.
We've learned to grow by seeing where we've been,
And seeing that our faults are understood.
They said,"Diversify", and so we did -
And found ourselves a complicated bag.
So you can do whatever lifts your lid -
But seriously, just don't burn my flag!

But seriously...how can we deny
that life exists beyond our earthly sky?
A speck we are inside our Galaxy
and barely seen within the cosmic sea.
But seriously...why should we surmise
God's gift of life's confined beneath our skies?
When He awakened life with his own breath
it spread throughout our Universe's depth.
But seriously...life on Earth does share
a form with which most species can compare.
Within, we are the chemicals of stars
and so, all life must be the same as ours.
But seriously, though no proof is seen
just think about a quest in a like scene;
to find one special sand grain in our seas.
Life in our cosmos, we may never seize.
But seriously...what an ordered plan
exists beyond the realm of earthly man.
To think that we as humans are alone
should surely be a concept long outgrown.

Out of breath, taking care of your people,

“The Unprecedented President”
Mirror mirror on the wall
Who’s the greatest President of them all?
“I am the voice beyond-beyond...
A truthful answer I must respond.”
Yes, it is the truth I quizzically quest
I ask again, who is the beauteous best?
“You are”, the mirror said with fingers crossed
The mirror knowingly well a lie was tentatively tossed.
In the mirrors, we see rewarding reflections
Layered lie's of life’s derailed defections
Illicit illusions with abundant attractions
Pompous portrayals of diplomatic distractions.
