Bubby

He was called Bubby and he went to Heaven.
He died in 2018 at the young age of fifty-seven.
When we moved into my house in 1977, Bubby became our neighbor and he lived close to us.
Decades ago, Bubby saw Dad using an extension cord with frayed wires and he said "That's dangerous".
Dad didn't want to spend the money even though it was something he could easily afford.
After Bubby jumped down his throat, my dad finally decided to buy a new extension cord.
Mom could open a door on a truck when others couldn't and Bubby said "She's a witch".
In all of his 57 years on this earth, Bubby never married, he decided not to get hitched.
Bubby was a good-natured fellow and his life came to an end.
Everybody in my neighborhood considered him to be a friend.

[Dedicated to Robert D. "Bubby" Nichols (1961-2018) who died on March 9, 2018]

Number 8

I am child number 8 out of 10 children 7 brothers and 2 sisters, and yes from the same Mrs. and Mr.
Number 9 is my twin brother fraternal not identical but the same non the less.
Bubby is the oldest then there is Randy ,Roy ,Pam and John, Julie ,Brian, Me ,Gary and finally Mark.
It was kaotic growing up and you can probably imagine. So many characters under one roof.Im surprised my mom didn't drink or do drugs, thank goodness for that because we needed her hugs.
It was hard for sure but I would never trade them for a million dollars, boy we could make mom holler.
I miss those times with my siblings, some don't speak or visit anymore, after Mom passed it was like a slamming door.
Mom was the glue that held it together with her being gone that glue weathered.
I am guilty myself and am sad that it happened, I miss so much, I just wish we would keep in touch.
I love you guys with all my heart and am truly sorry we fell apart.
There is always tomorrow that we can reach out, You know me I'm always here forever and a day,
Love Theresa and can't wait to say hey!

Nana

I’m not Grandma, Granny, Gram
And certainly not Bubby.
It is Nana who I am
And Grandpa for my hubby.

Choosing monikers is strange –
We rarely do the picking –
And, once chosen, we can’t change
So what we choose is sticking.

When I’m greeted or I’m paged
With “Nana,” here’s the thing –
All my senses are engaged;
My heart begins to sing.

De View

The view
How you see the world bubby,
 depending on your age,
naive as the sunshine,
then you turn another page,
the cynic type is coming,
have another beer,
someone bloody wist in it ,
its tasting might *****,
but then you're thin in plenty,
old tripe whose bones do ache,
stop yappin bout serenity,
lets have another steak....

Bubby

I’ve seen all my life
So many people come and go
Passing so quickly
Leaving a faded memory
Of the moment we crossed paths.

So sadly I must say is true
Rarely do I see anyone
Staying around long enough
Getting to know me.
Hardly does a person stay.

You, Bubby, My only son,
The most important man to me,
I’ve come into my life only
To stay and never ever leave
Me all by myself.

So grateful to know you,
And proud as a mom can be
You’re the greatest
Young man this world has seen.
My only son, my BUBBY.

To see you smile, hear your voice,
Always fills my
Heart and soul with love.
My only son, my hero,
Sent from up above.

Crunchy Munchy Dogfood

The dogfood was crunchy
The dogfood was munchy
I ate it cause
Bubby said I should
But I think he lied
Cause he thinks I am punchy
When he says
It tastin good

My Best Friend

When im with anyone else,
I don’t feel like I do,
When im laughing right beside,
Bubby you.

Your my warmth when im cold,
The happiness when im sad,
Your my companion when im alone,
The good to my bad.

Even though we are opposites,
You are like my secret twin,
When Im about to lose,
You make me feel I can win.

You know my weaknesses,
You know my strengths,
You know that for you,
I would go to any lengths.

I whisper my secrets,
Into your ear,
And you let me know,
I should not fear.

Our love is strong,
As friends and sisters,
Nothing can destroy our friendship,
Not even cyclones or twisters.

With a pure soul,
And a good heart,
You let me know,
We will never be apart.

I count myself lucky,
To have a friend like you,
Because without Bianca,
I wouldn’t know what to do.

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT

Mama don't you worry no more,
  we're all doing just fine,
And don't cry mama, don't shed another tear,
we're old enough now to tuck our ownselves in.
I miss you, and so does bubby and sissy too,
But you left us alone too many times,
Mama we'll always love you, and everything's,
  gonna be alright.
We knew something was wrong, but we were
  just too young,
You used to be there all the time, you were
  always there for us,
But mama we've done some growing up, Mama
  don't time just fly by,
Mama we'll always love you, and everything's
  gonna be alright.

The Purse

Dedicated to my little Bubby!

Hello Kitty, Barbie it doesn’t matter
It holds her Christmas money and Birthday wishes close to her heart
She wants to be a grown up
Her Innocent charm is adorable

Now in her chest
Holds her hopes and dreams
Of her future Prince Charming
A Fairytale it seems

This time it’s bigger
Writing supplies and books
A change of clothes
On her it hooks

Now square and flat
To carry her day
She keeps it close
So her life’s work won’t fade away

Why Daddy

Why dad did you hit me?
Why mom dont you belive me?
Whats wrong sissy did he hit you to?
Bubby's in the corner crying.
Mommy he hit us he dosnt love us.
Daddy you've changed.
Why dont you care anymore?
We walk in to talk to mom but shes on the floor lying in her blood.Dead.
Daddy walks in gun n hand.
Crack goes the first shot right at bubby.
Snap goes the second shot right at sissy..Im thinkingto my self"Am I next?"
The gun goes off again but this time at him self.I stand there in shock to scared
to move.
The police show up and take me in.
I have a new family and friends.
Everything is good i go to mommy's grave every day and think to my self "why not
me?"
