The Secrets I Hide

Convinced I am
I'll never be me again
The one who created the pain
The one who had so much to gain
But lost out in the end
To a race against time
A figment of me
Just a pigment of hope
Lie down at night
No sleep to make up
I wander about
Through today's events
I worry about tomorrows as well
There is no real balance
When I am always off center
My mind never shuts down
I Whisper I can't do this anymore
Can't continue to live in a past unforgiven
I am stuck here in the void
Can't trust myself to let my guard down
Feel only alone is how I will live out this life
Scroll through the pictures on facebook dating
All so many choices but none ever get back
Am I just a lost cause
Confined to all I fear
It's a stain that won't wash out
Am I really that unlovable
Is the cover just to torn to turn the page
So much unsuriness so little dedication
To branch out away from past thoughts
It's alarming and endangering
Have I become that lost soul
Only time knows
All the secrets I hide.

The Struggle

Exploring new surroundings is a,
Trembling experience to say the least.
Approaching fear is the creepiest part,
Planning something neat for yourself.

I recall saying to God I want to step out,
I’m seeking opportunities to branch out.
Nervousness flows through my veins,
Like an endless flowing stream.

All great things require sacrifice,
To be followed up with great rewards.
Pushing through the tough times,
Distancing myself from the noise.

Resist the struggle and temptation,
A fight I’ve been in for too long.
Revert back to studying the word,
Renew my mind and switch focus.

The internal battle within the soul is,
Gaining friction as I establish my life.
I can hear you telling me let it go,
Loosen the burden, give me control.

Picked a clover instead of
Looking for Unique

Premium MemberSymphony of the Sunrise

Murmuring melody mesmerises the dawn.
Colours, like disco lights, elegantly branch out.
Crows, sparrows, robins, and parrots camp on my lawn.
Between harp, lute, sitar, and guitar, there's a doubt.

Is there, amidst the clouds, a lava eruption?
A cloudburst brings, instead of water, hue embers.
Between gold clouds and silver skies, what a duction!
Thunder and lightning bring in untimely tremors.

Sunbeams, like uninvited guests, gleam the green leaves.
Streams and brooks carrying prisms flamboyantly flow.
Breeze brings sparkling stirs between the furls of wheat sheaves.
Hiding behind tentative dewdrops, sun dusts glow.

Gloom and gleam, like celestial mysteries, are merged.
Are heaven and earth, into a new cosmos, converged?

Premium MemberIt's Been Awhile

It's been a while
since I could look at you
forgive you for all you've done
it's been a while
that I could forgive myself for loving you
and move on
it's been a while
since I could stand alone
without asking for help
make a new name for myself
and branch out again
it's been a while
since I was me again

Premium MemberFrom Green Seeds To Family Trees

Why can’t we be like autumn leaves
Falling in love with each other?
When I see the colorful leaves
I think of all of us as sisters and brothers

We all start from creation by God
Like green seeds we begin
And we grow like trees with souls
brown roots deep within

We branch out reach toward blue cloud
Colorful leaves hang in wind
Leaves don’t fight they all unite
To dance and prance no sin.

As we age we know our place
In our fabulous family tree
Given grace in autumn’s wake
Like leaves we begin falling

Falling from our family tree
Falling in and out of love
Angel voices calmly calling
Us from up above.

Colorful leaves sing to me
Of autumn and family trees
Of reasons we grow
Of hope once old
to be born again faithfully.

Trying to branch out on here --
exploring verse of many a poet

Premium MemberEvery Wiggling and Wing

touched it, its fingerprints.
couldn’t hug it - too wide.
pressed against it. hiked
up my leg, to reach a limb.
limber, i’m not
nowadays. my wrinkled cage
engages my imagination.
i branch out. thick
is the umbrella - the sun rays
peeking through.
bug-eyed, my grandson
can’t reap the benefits.
he sees every wiggling
and wing. such appeared
aft of my childhood.
either that
or i wasn’t wearing
a magnifier.
i still see four birds
out on a limb -
unafraid, angelic.
they’re either courageous
or unaware.

Premium MemberLineages

My family roots ain’t long
how could they ever be
They cut off bits each day
we’re now the minority
Wish they’d leave us alone
set my kindred free
Back to our glory days
when life meant liberty

Don’t want this microcosm
stunted growth of misery
Please let us branch out
Stop this inequality
We wish to caress the sky
regain full gravity
So much for ethnic groups
who’d be a bonsai tree

If only my wish would come true

Concrete Roots

I feel like a tree
That has grown into a wall
Unable to branch out
Pushing against blocks
Stacked up

I’m bound in stone
With heavy roots
So we both can exist
And not have to fall

Premium MemberBest Wishes For the Rest

The bettor I set forth, the less you appear to care.
Hence, the best I attempt, the farther I prosper.
It looks that you cannot complete this assignment.
For every solo blink, sheerer gets incitement.

The time has shown up for you to be conscious.
To branch out into the world for karma purposes.
The shortcoming lies with me for wrecking you.
At that point, I whimsy it was the right track to do.

The bettor I serve, the best I can observe.
On account of you, I retained the option to improve.
Flying is the best trail for ascertaining your way.
There are a variety of events present today.

The issue is resolved, and the site is likely.
Launch your destiny without uncertainty.
It's useless whether you admire me.
Either you involve me or won't be your plea.

I'm hesitant; however, one object is clear.
I'll wait by there till the silver star appears.
You needn't bother with my increased support.
It's fit beyond due that I discharge you in short.

Premium MemberRebirth

Spring is imminent,
but the salt marshes
are not aware, for
the air is cold and drear.
Patchwork of tan and gray
stretches toward the sea,
cattails and reeds bend east
in a still chilly wind.

Bayberry and rosa rugosa,
blackened as if by fire,
huddle together, backdrop
for frost bitten sedges
decorated here and there
with shiny spills, silver pools
left by the last high tide,
reflecting the emptiness
of a white winter light.

And still the marshes sleep,
waiting for a length of days
warmed by a stronger sun
to stir them from their long nap,
for juices to flow into
stiff, arthritic stems,
for leaves to branch out,
filling the marshes again
with a hundred shades of green
and buds of latent flowers.

Once again the process begins,
The unending work of rebirth.

Premium MemberSeize the Summer, Kids

Sing “School’s out. School’s out!” Time to wade in creeks.
Bring Kool-Aid and hotdogs outside for a picnic.
Swing high in the tire Dad tied to the big oak tree.
Fling Frisbees, bounce balls, play tag; be quick!

Time will fly right into fall, so cherish summer fun.
Sublime are the hours you play each day, but save some
Prime time for reading and learning. They enhance summer as
Rhyme may spice up poems. Branch out, kids! Summer won’t be glum.

Premium MemberLet Friendship Lead the Way To Love

Friendship is the solid foundation you need to lay down
If you want to plant roots that will stay firmly
If you want to have strong limbs,
If you want your offspring to be the happiest buds

Do not hurry or rush anything
Let love grow naturally
It may start out green and willowy
That is okay.
Do not push it.

Allow it to branch out in its own sweet time
Flowing in a natural way, and the buds and blossoms will be sweet
Because they will be dancing a song in God’s time
Let friendship inspire love
But be sure and start with that
or your roots will fail,
and your dreams will die.

Be a Tree

Stand Tall be proud
Reach for the sky
Branch out into the world
Stay grounded
Remember your roots
Drink plenty of water
Be confident
Never stop growing
Bend before your break
Enjoy the view
