Book Of Psalms Poems

Breaking Benjamin - Far Away

Just as the elements within our lives are inevitable to intercede
There are also uncontrolled forces that have to circle the world
Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, wrath, and greed
These 7 deadly sins are sold more than the blooded diamonds and pearls

With prayer and faith I stand next to my mother.
And with undoubted submission I'd give anything for my sister.
I'll forever go to war for and with my brother.
But ever since Cain killed Abel, family's have killed, and killers get richer.

Lord when you gather your souls back please grant us your mercy
Grab our hearts with the inner core of your palms.
We drink from a cup but Revelations still leaves us thirsty.
Deliver me like the light you spoke of in the beautiful book of Psalms.

Wash the pain, suffering, and betrayal from our flesh.
Let your light dry away the history of grieving within tears.
Invite me to throw away my sins as I ask with all my chest.
And forgive man as I will forgive myself when your flood crosses near.

A cool ocean breeze with the waves at its knees
Brings a chill til the sun heats the sand
And then I shall dive to see fish so alive
Too pretty to die at my hand

These coconut palms and this old book of psalms
Offer nourishment and useful kindling
I was not taught to read but I have to concede
Books are handy when campfires are dwindling

I gaze at the grave of my parents, so brave
Such a beautiful place to be lain
They said watch the distance and those azure skies
Be prepared for a ship or a plane

They said this adventure could make me a man
“But whatever you do… do the prep.”
And, Hey! there’s a plane and I check again
Where I’ve laid out some shells to spell HLEP

Premium MemberWhat to Do If A Friend Stops Reading You

What a fool, you were, taken for a ride!
It’s a lesson to learn, protect your own hide.

They had great a time, using your emotions.
Grow up, make absolutely no commotions.

God has a new friend, already on their way.
Stop snivelling, get on your knees and pray!

So, if they did this to you, smile, you are blessed.
A friend never jumps on your soul, do not be stressed.

You write their namss, put it in the Book of Psalms!
May God grant you peace, and protection from harm.

I wish you love!

She Helps You Read the Unwritten

The Beloved comes to you as your own voice.
All questions answered before all spoken.
The key to silence is the open door.

The Beloved sings on the high roof
where all minds hover.
She speaks in the flowering chamber,
the one that is all windows
the one that is the pulse,
the stem of Her life in you.

She helps you read the unwritten.
Adds you in every moment
into Her book of Psalms,
turns your page
that you may see
there is just one,
and it has no corners.

She has news of yourself,
reveals it in lightning bolts
of discovery
makes you as naked as the wind
in Her hair.
Then you thank yourself
for being Her
and being there.

Psalms Sixty Nine Twenty Nine

O' Lord i pray the biggest gift
as Thou hath promised in the Book of Psalms;
grant me abundance, that'll bridged the rift
O' heal my wounds, with Thy holy balm.

Thou saith "but i am poor and sorrowful,"
adding, "O God, set me up on high,"
my current state change to the blissful
bless my path, as i go by and by.

Indeed Lord, it is a short prayer
Lord have pity, upon Thy servant;
of all things, Thou art the Maker
fulfil Thy will, Thy holy covenant.

For in the end, it's in Thy Mercy
grant us blessings and riches too;
money spent not only on charity
but deeds untold, this planet blue.

Psalms 69:29 states:
"But i am poor and sorrowful,
let your salvation, O God,
set me up on high."

Amen!

Premium MemberA David For David

Hailing from the tribe of Judah
King David was both a warrior and a poet
Who wrote the book of Psalms
His pen flowed with beautiful verses

King David was a man after God's own heart
When he slew Goliath that set him apart
He was annointed to be Israel's King
Though the lust in his heart caused him to sin

Saul envied him, and wanted to hurt him
But he was divinely protected anywhere he fled
From his line would come the King of Kings
Who gave us salvation and healing
 *-----------------------------------------------*
David, as you take this time to care for your wife
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Wishing all the best as she convalesces.

Ephemeral

Ephemeral

Tis not mystifying, though disheartening,
that we are simply passing shadows
…. a mere breath exhaled…. transitory
Sunrises numbered at first drawn breath
though each stand of hair is lovingly counted

A lone flower in a field of waving grass
 will pass unnoticed, once flourished.
The wind becoming the only witness,
to its existence, as its scent is carried
 across the meadow....fragrance dissipating

Swift waters of life slowly-- but surely--
wear away our most precious of stones
their features gently altered with time
until the final last grain deteriorates
finding rest, peacefully, on a distant shore

NOTE: This poem was inspired by the book of Psalms as well as Nature and MY FAITH.

Death Where Is Thy Sting

Death where is thy sting, Oh grave where is thy victory?

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
The Bible tells us this in the book of Psalms, Chapter 116, verse 15.
As a clear picture it paints.

Everyone looks at death in a different way
Some believe that death is an end to all existence, so they say.

Christians believe that death will bring them from one life on this sod.
To a life of Heavenly bliss with their Eternal God.

In other words to be absent from the body,
is to be present with the Lord God Almighty.

When someone dies, we should realize that they will only be absent for awhile.
Then remember our hope and be happy and smile.

For they have fought their battle already anyway
And no longer on this sinful earth do they have to stay.

Remember that Jesus conquered death at Easter time.
That He chose to die to save all of mankind.

But death didn't keep Him in the tomb you see.
He conquered it and rose the third day to set us free.

As in Adam all men shall die. even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death and then we will all thrive!!!!!!!
