Honoring Black Diamond

Black Diamond lived in New York City’s Central Park Zoo
From 1893 to 1915, and he was popular too.
This bison was honored by the US buffalo nickel which looked like him.
His caretakers gave Black Diamond all kinds of treats, on a whim.

She asked
Then!
I read
The book of her face
I turned my face down
Closed my eyes
To see
My black diamond
Inside me
Our life and memories..
I looked to her again
My soul loves your soul

sun's at other side of night
with the dream roses

heart of joy twinkling
gone down in sea of colors
star of plum evening

still in its peach prime
and dust of the day settles
crow flies to midnight

A steep slope.
Double black diamond 
Thin air   
Cold and getting colder
First time for everything
I am a little scared. 
Never done this before. 
Am I ready?
Don’t know what to expect. 
No one does. 
Short of breath. 
Tunnel vision setting in.
Long pause before the fast descent. 
With out consent, I’m nudged off the edge.

but serve as a chain

Its dark stone on fire,
all light one’s defaced

His is a voice felt rare ...
undetectable vibrations of thought,
outside the visible spectrum,
creates the flashing aurora of his poetic atmosphere
Hear the magnitude of his pen's rumble,
then be mystified as to where will
the exposed mantle of lies quake and crumble 
A cosmic man-child,
born with the soul of the universe
in his heart
Awash in transcendent wisdom ...

I want to tell a story of a girl by
the name of Diamond. 
As a child she was often made
fun of ,by the neighborhood kids.
Because she was really skinny
and she wore huge glasses.
They made fun of her ebony
skin as well.
If it wasn't for loving parents
it would have crushed her soul.
Her parents often told her that

When trials fall, she remains tough
Yes, a diamond in the rough,
Black…but shining outside her cage
For courage is youth’s heritage.

In time seasoned, one polished gem
Reigning  like a glossed diadem,
And strength becomes a lasting grace
Facing doubt with holy embrace.

She knows each conquest quite well paid
When life’s jewel adorns her shade.
This woman never bought but found
A precious

                Black Diamond not dazzling diamond
               Though both come from same carbon ore
            

Black Diamond

An elegant black movement
A sparkle from within
Embroidery of golden light 
Knitting magic on the skin

Raising the gleaming axe
Aiming at the dry branch 
The black diamond in pursuit
Of her daily livelihood

Many a male tourist in the hills
Seeks to have the sparkling diamond 
Like a necklace in their body
Whisperings from the black melody

At any such amorous approach

Black Diamond is how he's known still
His cleverest trick
Was the "bicycle" kick
That let him score goals nearly at will

A rare find but a beautiful sight
Brings loud exclamations of pure delight
Never sure of what you'll find
And finding nothing is never kind
Never wanting it to stop
Always searching a jackpot
A big find some call payday
Stopping now there's no way
Many more there could be
The naked eye it cannot see 
Operating daily sending a crew
Finding a lead then
