Premium Member Black and White Lies

A lie that is coloured white
A lie that make things seem all right.
A lie that leaves you asking why
Discovering those lies that made you cry.

Lies exposed, were meant as a joke
The lies that many hearts have broke.
Lies to conceal a secret love affair
The liars lie, is the truth they swear.

Scheming lies to scam for money
Lies told that were deemed as funny.
Lies can relate to anything
But often it's pain it tends to bring.

That little white lie that Santa is real
Habitual liars in overkill.
A lie told in kindness to comfort or protect
When a lie is discovered what's the affect?

A good liar will hide it well
Blinds you under their misleading spell.
The question is, why do we lie at all?
Whether they are big, white or small.

Harmless lies are weaved in white
Cunning lies are black as night.
A lie means intention to deceive
Is it good or bad what a lie tries to achieve?

Premium Member Your Heart Is As Black As Night

Inspired by Joe Bonamassa song Your Heart Is As Black As Night in Album Don't Explain, 2011

Your heart shines in the eyes but the fact I know
Your love is as far as a star
Your song may be sweet mine I can’t compare
But your love is as far as a star

I don’t know why you are with me
In my time of yearning
But if you don’t depart
I will give you my heart

Cause your touch may make me shake
But the emotions all fake
Your love is as far as a star

Your heart shines in the eyes, but the fact I know
Your love is as far as a star
Your song may be sweet mine I can’t compare
But your love is as far as a star

I don’t know why you are with me
In my time of yearning
But if you don’t depart
I will give you my heart
Cause your touch may make me shake
But the emotions all fake
Oh, Your love is as far, your love is as far as a star, as a star

RACE OVER HUMANITY

They speak of humanity in colours
Black as night, pale as bone
Silver like moonlight, gold like the sun
As if the sun warms one side more than the other.

With free hands they drew maps
Carved mountains, split rivers
Crowned some as kings of dust
Left others to beg beneath their feet.

But what is race, really?
Is it not just a shadow we cast in our minds?
We all cry tears with the same salt
Bleed red beneath different skins.

The wind makes no distinction
And sickness knocks on every door.
It’s time to redraw the image in our heads
These days, even the lines are fading.

Uncle Spelunker

Uncle was a spelunker
drove to the caves
in his clunker
(it was quite the junker)
without a sound
he sunk underground
pitch black as night
and on his hat
a bright white light
(the switch it was waterproof)
to see which stalagmites
might reach the roof
where stalactites
clung on tight
unafraid of bats
flitting around
never flunking
Uncle loved going down
but sorely and sad to say
on one of those getaways
a painful cluster of bad carbuncles
curtailed Uncle's spelunking days

THAT DOOR

That door, a portal to shadows deep,
Where secrets and darkness silently keep.
In the dead of night, it creaks and moans,
Revealing pathways to forgotten zones.

Its wood is tainted, as black as night,
Concealing horrors from the mortal sight.
A gateway to realms, where nightmares breed,
In that door's embrace, all fears take heed.

Behind it lies a labyrinth unknown,
Where twisted thoughts and demons are sown.
A corridor to the depths of despair,
A haunting place where souls lay bare.

That door, a gateway to the abyss,
Where echoes of sorrow and pain persist.
With each turn of the handle, we fear,
What darkness lurks, drawing ever near.

In the whispers of the night, it sighs,
Unveiling secrets that no one denies.
That door, a harbinger of dread,
Leads to places where the lost are led.

The Witch's Curse

The Witch’s hair was black as night
Her teeth were white
And eyes were bright.

She boiled her potions,
And brewed her lotions
She smiled at clouds and stars and moon,
She walked in woods from morn till noon.

She could cure any ailments fast,
And tell how long the rains would last.
She knew the earth she walked on well,
None ever heard her cry or yell.
Wisdom shone in her black eyes,
It scared those men with malice.

She was captured, tied and dragged,
All of them charged her as ‘bad’.
“Devil pleaser", “Dark force’s queen"
Shocked she was, ‘what does this mean?’
Beaten, stoned and dragged in mud,
Hair and eyes now smeared with blood.

“This crone! We must have her dead"
Cried those fools and she felt dread.
As they lit the pyre of hay,
She at last ventured to say,
Now you fear me, you cowards
“One day my seeds will grow upwards.
My kids will rise and set me free
That is when you with fear will see.
You and I may not here be,
But they will rise, SO MOTE IT BE"

(A tribute to the souls of all the wise and innocent women who were branded as witches and hunted down)

Premium Member Self-Existent Light

We all have light inside us.
The good Lord put it there.
Sadly there are many
whose light they do not share.

Each person’s light will flicker
deep inside the soul.
Choosing to ignore it,
you cannot be made whole.

You never want to look into
the eyes of those whose light
died out (or never even flamed).
Their eyes are black as night.

We can’t expect just overnight
our light to brightly glow.
We have to nurture it each day
and help the light to grow.

I’ve looked into the eyes of those
whose light shines easily,
Their self -existent light shines love
to everyone they see!

Tale of Two Trees

Long ago, before,
All divisions came to man
Two trees presented
One to Know and One to understand

LOVE ran freely
Between connection lines
Bringing TRUTH to heart
Directions from Divine

Spiritual beings
A top both trees
Guiding and revealing
The GOD who sees

When order changed
At the loss of trust
Knowledge split
To explore the meaning of lust

Black as night
Bright as light
Balance now the goal
Left to wander
Eating lightening, consuming thunder
Til WISDOM makes humanity whole

Premium Member How It All Started

I’ll never forget the day I was born.
It started out just like any other.
It was a time of joy and time to mourn.
It was the day that I lost my mother.

I was born from a cloud high in the sky.
She was pregnant with me and black as night.
She knew that soon it was her time to die,
But she held on to me so very tight.

When she just couldn’t take it anymore,
She opened up with a thunderous crack.
As she wept out loud and started to pour,
She lost the life she would never get back.

I came out screaming and began to form.
I felt bad for those who were in my path.
I became history’s very worst storm:
Best take heed of a son’s avenging wrath.

Just My Mask

Of course, I'm fine, why do you ask?
Oh, don't mind this, it's just my mask.
It hides the grief, it hides the strife.
I wear this mask to escape the knife.

Don't forget this, my pain is real.
I'm not lying, this is how I feel.
You sit there saying it can't be true.
It is for me, just not for you.

You say my heart must be a sight,
Cold as ice and black as night.
It's not my heart, only my soul,
But killing me must be your goal.

You're getting close, I hope you know.
You really don't have far to go.
Soon enough I'll reach my end.
You'll have my soul to tear and rend.

But you don't know, you never ask.
You never look beyond the mask.
The look on my face is giving me away.
I wonder now, what will you say?

You've asked me here; you'll know now.
I'll take it off, I'll take a bow...
I can't do it now, tell you the truth.
I must keep up my pretense of youth.

"Of course I'm fine, why do you ask?
Oh, don't mind this, it's just my mask."

In quantum isolations

Black as night Space deep personified
Tracing the membrane cosmic your intercourse
Of deities suicide
Divinities burn, zero moments zero-sum of silence quiet brilliant strata light
turning the black to a brilliant white
This the night of infinite symmetry
Cosmic oscillations bridge the burning night
Three seconds to midnight

Abyss

The abyss stares back, I’m sure this is true,
It stares into the soul, and breaks the spiritual glue,
It stares into parts you never thought were there,
Too late to show you of what you truly care.
The abyss does not judge, it knows of no wrong,
It sees time neither short, and neither long.
Anger resides here, happiness and hope,
Of all things that are fixed, of all things broke.

To see it in the distance, a feeling of unease,
A mighty abyss will surely bring you to your knees.
A circle of time brought forth in the mind,
Of all deeds evil, of all deeds kind.
The abyss is black, black as night,
For there is no sight, sight brought from the light.

So let go when you stare into the abyss,
And throw yourself into the bliss,
Try not to fight, try not to resist.
The abyss brings closure, and swarming thoughts in the conscience,
For the abyss stares back, but speaks no words,
The abyss guides the fools, and swallows the herds.
