Best Wondered Poems
Last night I lay in the darkness of my room
like i always do
Me, a dim lamplight and thoughts of you
my only companions
Everything was still
Till I could listen to first pit pattering of raindrops
Upon my. Windowsill
Falling, falling gently
down my amber rose leaves garden.
Falling gently ,wildly, gushing , drumming,
Like your heart beat on those scented nights
in the hallway by the fireplace, face to face
I wondered if water shadows were there too
In a distant land, in another path and in a different time
I wondered if you think of me too, over a cup of tea
whilst reading your newspaper,
or just sitting in your porch..I wondered..
Last night I sat, staring off into space.
My newspaper not opened.
My lemon tea gone cold.
Everything so still,
until the rain started to fall,
dripping slowly, rhythmically, then faster, faster,
harder, harder, quicker, quicker
splattering onto the broken concrete sidewalk
pounding like the beat of my heart
when we cuddled under the moonlit sky.
I wondered do you ever think of me
does the moon bring back memories
do you lie awake at night in your room
dreaming of me....I wondered..

I wandered and I wondered,
About all the pieces of my life
That came together in a puzzle,
Causing so much strife
The struggle, loss, pain and betrayal at hand
Feeling at times, sinking in deep quicksand
Those many times my heart broken like a mirror,
I could see the many flaws that remain in me
I wandered and I wondered,
About all my days of joy
A playful life of inspiration
Like a child with a toy
Laughter freeing the spirit, as if nothing is wrong
Dancing with a smile, to every song
The many times my heart healed, ready to fly
Releasing all the burdens of asking some things why?
I wandered and I wondered,
About my destiny
So many paths I’ve taken
And still there’s so much to see
Impressions and visions, imagination on fire
Burning and yearning with inner desire
Then, the many times, my heart wanted you
Sending messages in the wind, in a dream, we flew
To pristine places, hand in hand
Where no-one has ever been, but you understand

A lovely rose upon a hill
Its' petals wet with dew
Sits lonely in its' growing place
Neath skies of azure blue
A coat of green surrounds the rose
The leaves are moistened too
An emerald background it provides
Against a ruby hew
On unseen wings of gentle wind
A cotton cloud sails by
Dark specs of birds float to and fro
Have you ever wondered why?
The rolling sea white foam creates
When thrust upon the shore
It then recedes to gather strength
To thrust forever more
The mountain peaks like mammoth hands
Reach upward to the sky
Another marvel of our world
Have you ever wondered why?
A crystal brook so clear and cool
Reflects that azure sky
Look deep into its' mirrored pools
And watch those clouds float by
God placed these things upon this earth
To appease both you and I
With a Masters touch He placed these things
Have you ever wondered why?
Take time to smell that lovely rose
Enjoy and don't wonder why
Take time to see God's marvelous world
Don't hurriedly walk by
Life is too short to miss these things
That He placed here for us
Take time to hear, to see, to smell
Take time from all the fuss
For once you stop and smell that rose
And look into that brook
You'll see He meant these things for us
Slow down and have a look
To see those birds float to and fro
The wind felt on your face
You'll wonder why you hurried by
And missed this lovely place
You'll only walk this path one time
From stories I've been told
Slow down, walk slow and see the sights
Before you get too old
For soon enough that path will end
And life will pass you by
You'll miss the beauty of His world
And always wonder why!!!
God placed these things upon this earth
To appease both you and I
With a Masters touch He placed these things
Have you ever wondered why?

Drugs mask feelings and cloud ones mind
So many drugs out there in this day and time
Reality isn't possible for one to alter
But you can very much alter a human mind
Drugs come in all quantities, or choice of many kinds
Deep inside you feel a void
You suddenly try filling it with a drug
And before long your to far gone to realize
Your very own grave you have probably dug.
There so many who sell drugs on the streets
Drugs sold from house to house, at schools in the halls
Kids even sell for parents, in shopping malls
Life is so different from what it use to be
There was a time we had morals we all lived by
And we didn't really have reason to fear
But just like respect, love, and dignity
It seems to have all just disappeared
I often wonder, could I have helped
Could I have maybe turned even one against drugs
If just once I had listened to how one felt
Or reached out and took them by the hand
Or by letting them know they are loved with a simple little hug.

Words. Have you ever wondered
where they come from?
No, I don't mean their etymology,
rather where in the brain do they spring from?
Thoughts come, and then go, leaving no traces of their passing;
but then words, shapes writ
on walls as in Belshazzar's feast,
they come and stamp their presence on the mind.
Whence do they come? Is there some bubbling spring,
beneath the conscious mind,
from which the flood of words wells forth, unstoppable?
This word presents itself, to be
admired for its shape and meaning, elegant, interesting,
worthy of contemplation;
then followed by that one, dark and brooding,
yet somehow in appropriate apposition
to that which went before.
Words...interesting characters....
full of portent and hidden meanings.
“Beware the ides of March”.
Thus the Soothsayer portends Calpurnia’s dreams
Made real, blood staining Roman streets.
“Stay in touch”.
Parting words, soft spoken with questioning
Gaze. What portent is this? Are my dreams
To shape my corporeal present?
Are my emotions again to stain my waking hours,
Opening wounds barely closed, tears washing
Clean the blood of grief?
“Stay in touch”.
I like those words, they bring the inner fizz of
Anxiety, nagging at me, disturbing my sleep.
“It’s been a long time” and “Stay in touch”:
The alpha and omega of our meeting.
There is a palpable difference in you; a change,
Do you now see a different future, free of history?
Have you taken the deep breath and sought the
Intimacy of your space? Your own space,
Where you confront the demons of the past,
And the fears of days to come?
I like those words.
There is a future in those words; not the
Finality of never seeing you, never knowing
You again. “Stay in touch”: portent of a conversation,
That, maybe, perhaps, might lead to a place where
Happiness colours the world, bleaching bright clean
The stained steps of the past.
“Beware the ideas of March”: there is no envy, I think,
Nor ambition, nor the hubris of power in you;
Only the resonances of the past, that can be healed.
And I? I am no Emperor, falling at the scent of the
Adoring vulgates, desperate for the crown of your love.
No. I am the romantic hope-aholic, who listens
To your song and stills his eager mind and
Fluttering heart. “Stay in touch”:
I like those words.

Have you ever wondered?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly?
Well, I have always wondered, what would it be like to get by?
Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue?
Well, I have always wondered, is love always true?
Have you ever wondered what lies beneath the earths crust?
Well, I have always wondered, why is blood my sadistic lust?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to grow old?
Well, I have always wondered, why am I so desolate and cold?
Have you ever wondered, what it would be like to live on the sun?
Well, I have always wondered, why do I like to watch my own blood run?
Have you ever wondered, what would it life be like at the end?
Well, I have always wondered, would I be able to spend that time with my friends?
Have you ever wonder, what would it be like to live in the arctic and feel it's chill?
Well, I have always wondered, what would it be like to have someone, instead of something, to
feel?
Have you ever wondered?
Well, I have have...

I have wondered whether birds of different species converse.
Do they hold contests to see who can fly fastest and highest?
Are trees standing side by side for decades communicating?
Do the aquarium fishes discuss “those” folk outside the glass?
Is it possible a rose withdraws slightly to keep us from picking?
When wood borers stop in midair to stare, are they wondering?
Consider the process: does the same rain fall more than once?
Do animals in the zoo realize they are not free to roam about?
I wonder why some people think they are superior to others.

Oft have I wondered how wonderful it would be
if there were no fine print
in your love for me.
Even in your arms, inundated by your charms
you seem caught in wayward thought
washed up, and joyful not.
If I dare speak of marriage, of becoming one
there comes a shadow in your eyes
and failings I own arise.
Love lacks conditional clauses, awkward pauses.
It embraces with one’s whole being
frailties forever unseeing.
Do I ask too much, human nature presiding?
Not if time is endlessly providing
and love is pure and guiding.

She spent her youth in concert sinning
A fact half known but fast ignored
"I'll trade your past for a new beginning"
Said off the cuff but now an ode
She wonders if he really knows
She feels her body's spent for giving
A good man she deems him, and rightly so
Complicates further the decision
"Oh god where were you before,
Before I mastered at deceiving?"
So close to words these thoughts did grow
But prunned by his ribbon wrapped unveling
She wonders if she should say 'no'
"I'm I my past or my ambition?"
She wants a family and a home
To lead a life that's worth it living
Her mouths agape set to respond
No trace of his confidence thinning
A persistent shiver in her bones
She wonders if it's her he's seeing
His knee is floored, his face is grinning
He thinks her flattered to the brimming
Her head is spinning, her limbs are cold
She whispers, 'yes...'
As she wonders on....

Wondered What My Answer Will Be
Had wondered what the answer may be;
Might have been emotion inside of me,
Which again to life I am trying to bring,
Like some song sung softly in the spring.
But things changed and it was me there,
Giving life to country with so much care,
And bravely serve country as new recruit;
Proud wearing my magnificent military suit.
Shoulders became so straight standing tall,
And while being in big battle finally did fall;
Happened in another country across the sea;
Fine family and friends are home and all free
For short time will have started to settle in,
And then marching off to battle went again;
Then there in lonely field myself would find,
Near Flanders and other soldiers are behind.
Sharp sounds of bullets were whizzing by,
As I had thought to myself if I ever do die,
And my lonely mother are her only son,
A new life with God in heaven have begun.
Each Memorial and Veteran's Day went past;
The sky seems so sad while being overcast;
Me my precious mother will never forget;
She sees my face in sun when it does set.

Have you ever wondered why the trees, like people, either stand or are fallen after
a dramatic storm?!
Have you ever wondered why the people unlike trees can get up and get stronger
for the next storm…..
Have you ever wondered why you’re still standing when all else around you is
down…
Have you ever wondered why you can find peace in the middle of the greatest
torment around you…..
Have you ever wonder why the nature is so united in all seasons of life…always
united and in harmony….
Have you ever wondered if flowers love their butterflies….
Have you ever wondered how the creatures of the sky know the direction of their
flight….
Have you ever wondered if the sky meets the rainbow or just lets it glow for a
while…..

I never wondered why,
You look into my eyes.
I never wondered why,
What makes me cry.
I never wondered why,
What makes me laugh.
But I've always wondered why,
You stood by my side.
