Wondered What My Answer Will Be
Wondered What My Answer Will Be
Had wondered what the answer may be;
Might have been emotion inside of me,
Which again to life I am trying to bring,
Like some song sung softly in the spring.
But things changed and it was me there,
Giving life to country with so much care,
And bravely serve country as new recruit;
Proud wearing my magnificent military suit.
Shoulders became so straight standing tall,
And while being in big battle finally did fall;
Happened in another country across the sea;
Fine family and friends are home and all free
For short time will have started to settle in,
And then marching off to battle went again;
Then there in lonely field myself would find,
Near Flanders and other soldiers are behind.
Sharp sounds of bullets were whizzing by,
As I had thought to myself if I ever do die,
And my lonely mother are her only son,
A new life with God in heaven have begun.
Each Memorial and Veteran's Day went past;
The sky seems so sad while being overcast;
Me my precious mother will never forget;
She sees my face in sun when it does set.
