Best What Can I Do For You Poems
THE DAY I VISITED GIORGIO V.
The day I visited Giorgio V.
It was poetry that received me :
Poems lined after poems
Like the military in morning parade ;
I saw words command words
I saw words send words on errand
Every word in its rank and its place
Like items in Lidi or Audi’s shop.
There is gender in poetry’s palace :
The she-poems need no introduction
Their body features speak for them
But many are he-poems in Giorgio’s league
That Lexicon or Thesaurus must first introduce ;
The array is beauty to behold
Variety is the jewel that stands here out.
Then came the Marshal
The commander of the battalion
On his epaulet I read : poetic anatomy –
His dexterity in letter wins queens ;
He grows poems where men grow hairs ,
He took first step , gourdlets of poetry were dropping
He took the next , gourds of poetry were falling
He took another , it was barrels of poetry that were rolling down
At this point I heard a thunderous voice :
‘‘Stand at ease , stand alert
Quick march , slow march
March in review order
March in advance order
Open hair dresser
Salute.’’
Majestically he walked , like the Irish Colum ,
In the columns of words as he inspected the guard ;
Sundenly he turned back and made my point his path ,
Could he have seen me ? Yes, he did ;
As he got to me , phonetically he pressed :
What can I do for you ? Like in catechism I replied :
Your servant has only come to glorify the god of poetry.
This poem is not about me
but then my shelf is not a shelf but a tree,
so read on and then you will see.
I once knew an old Mole
who did not like living in a hole.
He was so scared of the dark
came up through the ground into the park.
He looked around missed me completely
spoke to a swing, so i said discreetly
‘Hey mate here i am, over here
what can i do for you my dear?’
He turned to me asked me the way
‘Hey Moley only if you can pay’
‘Alas i cannot pay you anything
I’m just a senior, a pension I’m accepting’
He then asked me the way to Alice
I said ‘She who lives in the palace?’
His answer both polite and courteous ‘Yes indeed,
the one I’m to marry’ as he scurried away at stealth speed.
I thought to myself
climbing back on to my shelf.
How extreme this funny old Mole
so desperate and with all that soul.
Hope old Moley doesn’t mind
but Alice is not the marrying kind.
A-lice in the palace is a louse
living within the fur of an old mouse.
A badge holding C.I.A spy
trained especially to pry.
On those vermin digging holes
a death sentence to all Moles.
‘If only Moley had paid
this information I would gladly trade!’
There's a moral here somewhere?

I am your servant
What can I do for you
Take you on an air baloon ride
Up and away so you can fly
Rising up into the sky
Just us alone you and I
Recite a funny poem
On the way home
Fly you in an airplane
On a romantic trip to Spain
A great adventure will make you
Never the same
Next we will go to Italy
To eat and enjoy and see all we can see
As we travel far away to have fun
We can greet and shake hands with every one
New ways to serve you rise inside of me
New places to go things to do and see
Do you have a idea too
Of what you like and want to do
Your wish is my command
What can I do, for you are out of reach?
I weep and sigh in dungeon of my heart
I tear my clothes in anguish, I beseech
That of my misery you share a part
For I am here tormented in this place
I’m shackled to the wall of dark despair
While you roam free with sunshine on your face
You breathe the air of love without a care
And here am I in need of tenderness
I fear my death will come without a sound
This body long untouched by your caress
Will soon enough be lowered underground
I cannot live if passion is denied
There would be not a joy to see me through
Unending love must in my heart abide
And all I want and need is found in you
Yet, here am I, imprisoned in the gloom
For you have gone and left me sore in need
The flower of this love has lost its bloom
The crimson of its hue is what I bleed

Once a little goat with a small horn,
Wanted to become a unicorn,
She wished and she wished every night
And prayed and prayed, it might
Come true, I want to wish on a star,
So the next night they saw one far,
But although so bright
Gave off little light.
Look mummy at that grass over there,
Please don’t stare,
For they might run away, fairies
Right next to the bush with berries
I’m going to send them a whisper
Mummy kissed her, ooh your whisker
Tickles mummy, suddenly three
Fairies flew by her side what do you
Wish for most, as you are of the few
That never asks, whatever you wish,
I want to be a unicorn, please
They waved their wands with ease,
There stood the prettiest pink unicorn,
Gone was the small horn,
Replaced by a twirly one,
The little goat girl now an awesome unicorn,
Her star sign remained Capricorn.
She had a fluffy mane
And her eyes were blue, insane.
Oh fairies I love you so much
Your wands and their magic touch,
What can I do for you.
and you and you,
Listen to your parents and be a good girl,
And thus your mane will always curl!

Long ago
In a far away land
With stags in the glens
Salmon leaping so grand
This ancient Kingdom
With its lonely King
Longs for a maiden
To make his heart ring
No crusades
No battles no wars
His reason-ability
What do we want to fight for
The only war he faces
Is raging in his heart
To seek his chosen maiden
For his life to start
With his entourage they travel
To tour his Kingdom so
Through heather bloomed glens
Over mountains graced with snow
Many miles they have travelled
All in need of rest
Up ahead in the distance
A manse house, we're timely blessed
On the door his footman knocks
As it opens with a creak
What can i do for you
Bow, its your King your about to greet
They settle down for supper
Roast hog and venison pie
The King enjoying their welcome
Twas not the food that caught his eye
The Laird of this estate
Had two daughters, lovely named
Carolyn and Lorna
Blond haired and red head flamed
The one that made him smile
Was the way she looked at him
This blond haired gorgeous beauty
All curvy shaped and thin
With the politeness of a King
Would you like to walk with me
As they strolled around her garden
Talking of all that they could see
They talked of ancient mariners
The roamers of the seas
Adventurers, they would seek
To show new worlds to see
En captured by her knowledge
Her smile, long blond hair
Is it the politeness of a King
To be in awe and sit and stare
They head back to the manse
To retire for the night
Both lying awake in thought
Something here, clicked tonight
Now many months have passed
Visitations to and fro
The King to her dads estate
This blond to his castle so
Then on one sunny day
As they rode through his Kingdom's glens
Enjoying this place of beauty
In his cloak, some thing full of gems
In the presence of his lands
The King goes on one knee
My dear darling Carolyn
Will you marry me
Yes my darling King
I will marry you
Today we are engaged
Tomorrow, this precious join of two
They head back to his castle
Through his glens and rivers of blue
For on their day of marriage
The Kings heart at peace and true

THE BLIND BEGGAR
The blind man stood there begging as he had done before,
But something then was different with the coming of the Lord.
He’d heard about this person who healed the sick and lame,
And he was very certain He could do it again.
And so he cried for mercy; the crowd said, “Hold your peace,”
But he cried that much longer, he longed to be released.
Then Jesus stopped a moment and told the thronging crowd
To bring that poor, lost beggar who had cried very loud.
“What can I do for you, sir?” He asked so lovingly.
“Oh, Jesus, Son of David, I’d really like to see.”
Then Jesus reached to touch him and made his body whole.
“Your faith today is honored, and I have saved your soul.”
I once was like that blind man so burdened with my sin
Until I came to Jesus and asked Him to come in.
He took the blindness from me and I saw all things anew,
Yet what He did for me, friend, I know He’ll do for you.
He’ll take away your blindness brought on by all your sin
And take you home to heaven if you will let Him in.
While dining out, in old Chi town
just David and the Mrs Brown
peruse the menu, ask what's special
the waiter says our turkey pretzel
The Mrs makes an awful face
but Mr says he'd love to taste
how could a salted doughy ring
not be a perfectly tasty thing?
The ring arrives, with side of fries
and Mr can't believe his eyes
it's kind of green, but he has seen
much worse in places he has been
He wolfs it down and wipes his face
he thinks, not bad for this kind of place
but then, he feels a sudden urge
a rush of wind that he must purge
He waddles through the men's room door
and falls upon the grimy floor
he crawls avoiding further falls
and squirms into the nearest stall
At last, he's safe, he thinks at least
to finally loose the gassy beast
but when he lets the big wind go
he finds he's soaked both high and low
The ring, the fries, the gravy too
they cover him in a film of poo
his pants are full, his shirt's a mess
what to do's a futile guess
He hears a voice and in a yelp
he squeaks I could really use some help
the voice says I'm the janitor,
what can I do for you, dear sir?
He tells his tale of windy woe
and out the door the janitor goes
on his return, he had a hose
a towel and some clean dry clothes
Brown comes out and looks around
he's naked now and feels a clown
the janitor then sprays him clean
and helps him in his brand new jeans
The Mrs asked are you all right?
When you crawled off, I had a fright
I warned you not to eat that stuff
you never listen to me enough
Brown looked down, he bit his lip
He paid the check and left a tip
a tip so large, the cashier gasped
she said this question must be asked
Was it the food, the ambience, sir?
Or maybe t'was the hatcheck girl?
I'd like to know, so I can tell
others why you think we're swell
Brown shook his head, he turned and said
I'm lucky now, that I'm not dead
your food's the worst that I have had
and I have had some really bad
Your restaurant's a dirty mess
your hatcheck girl could learn to dress
Your service, though, it is the best
with that, I really am impressed
A cute little girl enters the pet store
“What can I do for you?” Asked the store clerk
The little girl was missing some front teeth,
“A bunny wabbit”, she said with a smirk
We have lots bunnies’ right over here
How about that pretty fluffy white one?
That brown one looks like one you can cuddle
And that slick black one would surely be fun
Take your pick Honey; they’re really nice
Our bunnies are lovable as they get
Well, I’ve got to tell you the truth mister
I don’t think my pet python gives a ****!
I love you because
You are in my heart
I love you because
Your words are my guide to my life
I love you because
Your eyes are my lights to my dark
I love you because
Your beauty is my inspiration
I love you because
I want to sail this ocean with glee
I love you because
I am in your heart and thoughts
I love you because
My thoughts and soul is in your love
I want to live my dear
With you to live with love and peace
Say My Darling
Say My Darling
What do you want in this earth?
The sun or moon
I will fetch them for you in a second
Say My Darling
What can I do for you
To pull down the sky in to earth or
To dry all oceans in a minute
Say My Darling
What is your wish to have
The White elephant of Heaven or
The precious diamond from the crown of Jupiter
I will get you in a fraction of second
What ever you want ?
Just your word is enough to accomplish
Say Darling just by sign

I was 17
She was 15
Her name was Fondly
Yes, she's somebody's daughter
So I went to her house a calling
I knocked on the door
And Fondly opened the door I speedingly said
Is your father at in is he at home
Could you go get him
Yet before she left
I gaze upon her scarlet bronze eyes
And in that moment
That one second, we bonded, connected
I couldn't replace that moment
She left to get her father
I gasped whispered to myself I hope her father likes me
Her dad came to the door I said good evening sir...
Hello Mr. Johnson
He immediately said hello son what can I do for you
I didn't reply I said Mr Johnson hi my name is Derek and I'm in love with your daughter but sir I honestly can say I can wait until she's of age so we are both young
And to tell you the truth when she's 21 I'm coming back here to ask you for her hand in marriage
But until then sir I'm going to do all my due diligence to be humbly polite treat it like a queen so one day should be my wife so Mr Johnson Grand and as I came in he told his wife honey you better set another plate for dinner I think my daughter has now and in the future a good man or winner
Come on in son and sit down
Let's talk now about presence-tense
And also those future plans for my princess

So many people need me and Father I need you
To give me strength to do the job you've given me to do
When you called me to minister you said to me
My friend I need your help to win the lost before the world ends
Here I was just thinking of the sheep I had to feed
But it really touched my heart when you said you had a need
Sometimes I get so caught up in everything I do
I seldom stop to ask you Lord what can I do for you
It's my desire to serve you I long to do your will
When you speak please help me to listen and be still
Thank you so much Father for your confidence in me
When others look into my eyes I pray it's you they see
Amen
Rain came down in torrents—
The parched earth
Rose to greet her…
And let off some steam!
You took a long time in coming—
I was almost roasted alive
Complained the parched earth
Oh, the mountains fell in love with me
They blocked my way—
I had to take a circuitous route to reach you
The winds blew me hither and thither
I lost my way on my way!
But now that I am here
Pray, tell me, ‘What can I do for you?’
Oh, I have been thirsty for months
The leaves on the trees
Are heavy with dust
I need a thorough wash
I have been keenly waiting
For the monsoon season
So that I may have a natural bath
‘Monsoon is not a season’
Corrected the rain
There are only two seasons—
Summer and winter
Monsoon is just a transitory phase
Between summer and winter
Just as spring is a transitory phase
Between winter and summer
People wear summer clothes
And winter clothes
They don’t wear spring clothes
Or monsoon clothes
If there is rain during summer,
They wear raincoats over summer clothing
Just as they do in winter
Fresh leaves appear during monsoon
Flowering plants and trees are abloom
Animals and birds mate before monsoon
Just as they do
Before the arrival of spring
Monsoon is a second opportunity for rejuvenation
Just as spring is…
In fact, it is a second spring!
Mon Dieu she shrieked, I watched him standing there,
Beneath the Gogh, the suit was Weatherill.
He sipped cognac (Eden de Gautier)
And on his arm some filly from Brazil.
You heard, of course, poor dear, she knew the drill.
What must she think: her dress, she wore Chanel,
The shoes, Vuitton, I thought were overkill
But then she smiled; I swear he almost fell.
Madame, the coiffeur calls please take the chair.
She feigns a smile, the fragrance tastes Patou.
He's suave, he knows, he gently combs the air
And asks, Madame, what can I do for you.
She flicks her hair as if she's in distress.
He knows she knows that men have died for less.
