Vertical Lines

Don't forget to cross the Ts
and dot your Is
because if you don't do that
they're just lines vertical on a page.
Lets us forget about the imperfect words
that make us cry
the vertical lines,
like jail bars hold us back.
Stand up and out and roar like a lion!

she is mine, I love her,
but I am quiet,
held back by the vertical lines
the black oily jail bars,
that keep my hear caged in
everytime I cry and people don't listen
the guard taps his nightstick upon
the vertical bars,
the imperfect feelings of pain and sadness
feeling like this it bores me
feeling like this makes me sick
and I feel myself wanting to vomit
and shake the nervous feeling
of falling into a dark hole,
so I sit behind these vertical lines,
like cocaine lines, ready to snort up your nose,
like cigarettes lined in a perfect and neat row,
like empty wine and beer bottles
littering around my feet.

The vertical lines take me away from reality,
close my already blinded eyes
with a black blindfold.
These jail bars cross my soul,
chain my the ankles and wrists,
and choking me, holding my head under water,
I can't breath!!! Help me!
These vertical bars hold me back in life,
hold my emotions from coming out,
to tell you how I feel for you!
I no more want vertical lines,
I want to be free.
Drive horizontal roads that wined and turn around beautiful mountains
too take a deep breathe and share the beauty
to watch the horizontal horizon.
Too sit on a beach shore and write till the sun goes down
and the mermaids sings cheerful tunes
that uplift my spirits and break the remaining vertical lines
that bind and hold my heart in place.

There is nothing beautiful in a straight line,
let alone a vertical one.
Horizontal, vertical all bad in their own ways,
always trapping us, like jail bars or barbwire that streches across the open lands.
Love has no lines,
no boundaries,
so why should I have lines that bind me together
holding my head underwater,
till a spark lights a powder keg and blows me sky high
and I finally set myself free
and roam the horizon for ever.

Vertical Sea

Vertical Sea

Arise horizons tell us what you see
Vertical rain comes on high wave conclusions adrift in mist
Fortunes waiting out on the sea for men who come in ships
So much rain came in from all directions in one instance
Sanity was questioned at a distance along with risk
Vertical rain broke portal windows with such force
Eighty mile winds crashed in as well
Distracted men at playing cards, drinking rum for fun
Now huddled in fear within the thin skin cabin
No one slept inside the dead of hour’s darkness
Troubles bounced up and down out there

Pirates in the past fumbled their rich existence down
A new crop of water warriors can be found to take their place
Doubloons are buried in dark quarter’s underwater world

Above and below deck, inundated with storm and fear
Between each plank the storm took out more men
No thick skinned seasoned soul could harness or hold on
No salty language sailor could be heard

Above the tumultuous storm
The fierce beast rolled in on angry nature’s back
With it, folding over fifty foot waves, came torrential rains
Which pounded heavy on the bow

Churned up rogue waters on the vulnerability of sea life
Nature itself turned on them in adept ferocity
In violence it flipped the ship

Showed contempt for every soul on board
With total disregard for life and limb
And complete indifference towards the sailors

The blackness, void of light, could not help these tyrannical conditions
The monstrous storm consumed more than the rain
It drank up men and drowned them
Others flew in all directions
Most of them broke necks, died before they hit the deck
Instantly killed, dragged into the cold dark depths as well
All steps were in the wrong direction, in favor of the waves
They could not even cower in the craft or say a prayer
The boat and men turned upside down
The ship had splintered into nothing and flew into the gale

Only three men remained, bobbing on the giant waves
Flapping their arms like molested chickens on the sea
Tossed in every direction but straight ahead
Rogue waves were in control, in hysterical rage and agitation
No one knew what happened to the crew
They were never seen again

Premium Member Vertical Binds

probing rays of light
spill through
my window pain

my mind wanders
between shadow and fray

I exhale a faint whisper
into the stagnant
life hovering around me

energy awakens and begins
a dizzy stumbling dance

the sun searches for my presence
in this otherwise dim and lonely space

a hot touch finds my face

I squint as if staring
at the abusive hand
of a dead lover

I recoil in a harsh memory laid to rest

haunted specters
edge through unfulfilled spaces

I lie stoic listening for time to move
I step up on a stair
spiraling down to a
door of self-doubt
that has rotted with age

the hinges have rusted,
and a drunken handle is
dangling

a window of self-blame
fogged by anxious ventilation
curdles inside its frame

it slams wide-shut
when confronted
with any shudder of pain

a bucket of trauma spills over revealing memories
unsettling and stark

but suddenly, a cosmic rain of tears
pours down from above

it washes the fear, branded to my heart
I am showered in healing and unconditional love

memories may surface in soft places,
but I won't be bound,
by the fear or inadequacy
that tore me down

I will never allow my
self-worth to be invaded,
nor my soul, to ever again be degraded

Premium Member Staying Vertical

I’m not an athlete although I love tennis,
I’ve flirted with fitness for most of my life,
Found rewards of a life that’s quite active are
Counterproductive to quality midlife.

The first problem is you’ve an imbecile’s view,
Little chance that you know the real consequence
Actions may have or the risks you are taking,
With doubt that your motives have logic or sense.

You should think of your body as delicate -
Injuries cured, still scars carried a lifetime,
While trophies you won are just yesterday’s news,
This is battle that needs shift of paradigm.

Bodies aren’t cars and spare parts aren’t de rigueur
And obvious thinking can still be untrue.
Though a high flying seed seems so beckoning
Don’t be seduced by dreams never thought through.

Approaching old age brought some bad health resolves
When I thought of new muscle as healthy points,
Simple decisions, to not run on pavement,
To swim in the future, thus saving my joints.

These half-truths cost me dearly as “fitness” led
Me by the nose, wrecking both aging shoulders,
With six months of quite painful rehab for each.
Is this something you want in your health folders?

Caution is frequently thrown to the wind when
We place too much faith in our most naive view,
I felt certain that swimming was gentle but
Life may have truths that we all undervalue.

Success is addictive and that did me in,
There is joy when your choice seems a blest affair,
Joints of a senior are not what my youth had
And rotator cuffs soon cried out for repair.

Moderation I guess is the sense shared here,
Foolish to count on the smile of just pure luck
For pride sets the stage for the mighty to fall
Unless you’re flattened first by a circus truck!

A Vertical Pattern

The sun within me reflects off the moon you hold.
Showering me with aura light and the true story told.
I must be the most powerful me
to allow you to be the most powerful you.
That is how unity shines in our harmonious flow.
Many divine elements of nature and earth,
sky and infinity,
bring us together on this present soul journey.
Beyond matter and time
we have always been of a similar kind.
Whatever body we have carried or dimension experienced,
our knowing has been vertical with spindled permanence.
Sewn and weaved through various soul needs
we meet on this earth and complete what we have agreed.

Vertical Thumb

I am Knocking on the door of the river
Screaming at my face ..
But he is leaning on the tree,
And waving with a vertical thumb !!

My eyes are shut
 I see darkness
Yet the blackness
Dances in the light
Just the tittle I am
Screaming getting
My mouth is shut
The silence tickles my throat
I am muted I can't hear myself
Yet I talk as I stand versed allotted
In this position vertical I rise I lift my eyes
I lift my voice I lift my arms and hands
Praising to the Almighty and in this present tense
Vertical I stand and in this presence tense I stand
Vertical tall as the tree no one comes to me
I hover over the masses I react showing the dancers
My feet are moving yet firmly planted on the ground
And the blackness of the light that shines in the deafness
Of my mouth that verses the screams in silence I stand quietly

If i were to adapt to your absence shall i burn the polaroids?
If you were to leave me shall you drink your nights away ?
I stand corrected while you stand alone
and i have been cocooned all night in your jacket
my dear open bracket
What type of medicine have you been hooked on this week , any week ?
Which bone did you break this month ?
My resilient home , my melancholy syndrome
Where are you when you are right beside me
I ponder when you are that yonder
I have been screaming all night
My love , my inertia
Im staying vertical although not afloat.

Torso to torso, pressed to impress
Internally we share our loving zest
Loving and proud in our moment of bliss
To your nape I whisper a loving kiss

Your imprint of pert against my palms
Whilst I savour and sense your womanly balm
Slip sliding thighs in vertical entwine
Torso to torso we lovingly grind

Vertical Distance

Look up
aye so contrite
yes the sun is bright
lays strewn upon the feet of grass
and does not forsake the anvil of stars

Should you dabble with connection
some philosophical denouement
perhaps of leaves
to scatter from the fingers
of cosmology

A vertical distance of loosely inter-weaved
this thesaurus of chaos
a dictionary of galaxies
assemblage of troubled theories
predisposed to nonsense

Look up
forget all the technological apologies
complex comprehensions
implement involvement
and sate such moments with emotions

Look up
and there profound all unanswered questions
simplicity entangled
the sweep of heavens
a mortal witness of eternity

‘Tis but a moment of listen
such subtle intoxication
and giddy to the whirl
can only cause a smile
there upon the feet of creation

Who then would forsake
the anvil of the stars

A nerd news could be likened to a large reel. And dancing in or on a coverted coven. Wow. How incredibly interesting and varied ooooh. And a vessel that doesn't speak.dancing dorment dumping dog. And the inner wheels of a gratuitous antelope is always misconstrued. Half a space dog usually a good companion but a sore loser at chess. Never underestimate a chicken with a hangover as the butterflies of wrath are suspicious of juniper flags. Hahahaha glasses of a glaced glacier. Hahahaha sealed sink secretions. Hahahaha xxxxx ton of tepid tranquillityxxxxx Hahahaha and a massiveness of a pineapple walking in a floaty dress.
