Premium Member Ups and Downs In Life

Life comes with moments of sadness
touched with moments of pain
but it also comes with moments of joy
I have loved, lived and breathe
the upsides and the downsides of life
I have sacrificed many things
indulged in the finer things
I gave love, received love, found love
and lost love
I have experienced the good and bad
in all that life has to offer
The ups and downs and turnarounds
You build up you get torn down only
to turn and start to rebuild again
Knowing in all this I was never alone
God always walks beside me
until the day he decides to call me home.

Queen of the Screw Ups

The Queen of the Screw Up's! That would be me!
I wear that crown With the greatest of ease!

So, bow down people, show some respect.
To the most majestic screw up, you will never forget.

I screw up everything, that is ample.
Take my bank account, for example
In the negative it always stays.
I screw that up everyday.

Bills pile up they never get paid
Ignoring them wishing they would go away
Electricity, water, credit card statements pile up in a high-rise
My credit score is lower than my shoe size

Relationships are destroyed and broken,
leaving with no apologies spoken.

It’s not easy being queen, I had to earn that crown,
and I don’t plan on stepping down.
So, All hail her royal Highness and kneel before me,
who screws things up to the third degree .

Premium Member The Letter

I went to jail
                            Yo I couldn't make bail
My life went off the rail
Til I got a letter in the mail

I stole a truck you see
Got caught when I tried to flee
                              My life always sucked
Yet God wanted me out of the muck

The letter said God loves me
With all my mess ups that can't be
In my heart I knew this was God's plea
Seek and ye shall find, I will set you free
Signed God the Father, God the Son
                              God the Holy Spirit
                               All three

So I asked the Lord into my heart come in
He forgave me of my sin
                              Sure my consequences would begin
But He changed me from within
Now my life with His help will be a win
                                              Win

The Ups and Downs of Love

Roller coasters can be scary
Up and down your always leery
Of the next drop that will come
Until the rides finally done
Just like our relationship
Full of frightening big dips
That come out of nowhere fast
Causing your heart a big blast
That is very frightening
Like a bolt of lightening
Flashed your heart and made it jump
Causing an unexpected lump
In your throat and you can't speak
You become fragile and weak
The way we feel sometimes when
The bumpy ride begins again
Making our emotions go
Up and down--we never know
How each days going to be
Up on top--joyful and happy
Or speeding down a fast track
That's pulling us further back
Maybe it will teeter totter
Back and forth until we're smarter
With the feelings that we have
Needing lots more good than bad
This ride of love is interesting
Each day it is always bringing
Two souls closer or apart
But we are strong and will
Keep us falling down that hill
We will pull ourselves right back
Onto a more stable track

Ups and Downs

At the beginning it is slow
Speeding up
Like the fastest fighter jet ever
Faster
Faster
Screaming
Twisting Turning
Flying Soaring
Endless ups and downs
Anticipation of an end
Finally the ends has come
Why don’t we give it another go

Downs and Ups

There are times when waking up is hard
Easier when you are near yet difficult if far
That's when I stay down like a fallen card
As though I am as stuck as a star.

Do you watch the moon while I see it shine?
Are there lights or is it darker
I have chills running through my spine
And you're straightening it with a thick marker.

Strange as can be that falling asleep is worst
Always staying awake until I see the sun has risen
My sleep patterns are reversed
My soul is in prison

Even when I try nothing seems to work
All I ever do is lay awake
While our memories lurk
In my dreams with multiple retakes.

Flowers bloom but always die
Beautiful until they fall to the ground
Their petals disintegrate as they lie
And they do it without making any sound

I just want to be loved for who I am
All of the negative simply makes me ill
Through every tear, I still swam
Because I still have plenty in life to fulfill.

Premium Member Dragon, the Ups Guy

Dragon! Dragon! … He’s in the air… There’s trouble on the way.
Duck your head, and keep on running… He’s the UPS Guy, today!
Now, Federal laws may be broken, as a few packages: well… go up in smoke!
But at least he won’t be bitten, as dogs tend to run, at what he… can evoke.

If they get too testy: Remember! He brings, a bottle of barbecue sauce, Hugh!
Though, I doubt this job will last…as he decides, to hoard a package or two.
After all, curiosity killed the cat, and Dragons get… mighty… curious, too.
He’s serious: The mail MUST get thru! But, to open them, another payment’s due.

If you want your package, be prepared to trade it for a shiny bobble or two.
The Trolls have taught him rather well, and he’s clever, this Dragon… so true.
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night: can stop him on his highborn… quest.
Just know, Dragons squelch competition: He’ll be: smoking mailmen, you can bet!

Mailmen and FedEx, need look out, for getting there: will put him on the top.
He can get there faster, and better, by flying straight without, even, a single, stop.
Thank God, he‘s young, having trouble with directions, or your job, would be gone!
Yea, he’ll swish right into your yard, though it’s a shame about that shrub! Oh! Darn!

If you don’t get your package, or if it tends to go up in a puff of, burning, smoke.
Just don’t worry, no, not at all! For you, with your camera… He will freely pose!
The fancy cape is there to remind you… That as The New, Illustrious U.P.S. Guy…
He’s the next Great Super Hero: as soon as he learns to, stop falling, from the sky.

Dragon would have made it, if the Federal Government hadn’t, come on thru!
He had to give it up, because at two years old, The Union wouldn’t sanction to:
Give him, in the end, an itty, bitty napytime… Really!… Honest!… That was true!
But don’t worry; he’ll be ready to serve you… in just, one more year, or two!

Grown Ups

Tongue swells from being biten,
red cheek turns to avoid unnecessary conflict.
When is conflict necessary?

Walk away.
Pray for peace within, or at the least,
a serene place to breathe.

Why is your right, my wrong?
When is my wrong your right to berate?
At this late date
within a collective senior sisterhood,
one hoped smiles would be more forthcoming.

But, its stubborness now.
No bending by the stiff-necked
no slack to cut or joke to reduce
the juice of certitude.

And then, as quickly as it comes,
it goes ... poof ... time too short for grudges.
Grudges held by others for eons
and by some for only as long as it takes
for redness to wane
and sighs to end.

Cover Ups

The Cardinals Birds Will Sing

Lying to yourself about this and that
a higher power knows
About the: this and that
The makeup and the cover ups
The cardinals will sing in a
Beautiful tune, the raven never
Came back, but the dove return
He never forgets
What he sees, so he whistles a tune

Does it matter, how long?
How intone: Clergymen
Bishops, Priests and Deacons!
Then there’s Rome: and the Nuns
Come, out of the closet
And sing, to the world.
I can’t be *****. Saintly
Or holier than thou
Sacrilege: remember your vows:
A Trouble, trouble

Life Ups and Downs

They say a life journey is full of ups and downs
They also say in life, you should start at the bottom and work your way up
I find this totally confusing and no help at all when I’m with you
My muddle is your bottoms in the middle, how can that be true
Plus your bottoms at the back, surely that’s all back to front you see
Now do you see my quandary, not only am I starting in the middle I’m also back to front
It’s no wonder I struggle understanding you, I don’t even though where to begin
Oh! the pleasure of life and it’s complexities and I even haven’t started to begin

Premium Member Long Line Ups At Starbucks

To order a coffee of your choice
At the Starbucks coffee shop
There is one line up to order
The coffee of your choice
Then there is a second line
To receive the coffee you chose
Waiting for your coffee choice
Seems to take some time
While the severs do things

Before they do the ones
That made their orders
Now waiting their turns
Meanwhile the line up grows
Longer while severs do pick ups
Orders at the drive by window
After the orders are done
Go to customers waiting to pay
Thensip thier coffee of their choice

Grown Ups Ii

How is it you know what to do?
Who told you?
Was it others you watched and mimicked
in the hope They knew how to do ... life?

Your way as a mother
when you knew no other than violence
and strife as she even took a knife
to threaten you ... why look
at how gentle you are with your child.
Is it the opposite for you
of what you thought she knew?

How did you learn to touch?
A sweet, gentle caress and yes,
we are out of caves now
so hair dragging is no longer needed.
Why do some beat and maim
or play the blame game
while others can cry when you do?

Everything we learn along the way
kindergarten never helped except
to say ... Sorry.
Sorry you never knew
and, Thank You.
Thank You for showing us what not to do.

Premium Member Life's Ups and Downs - and Ups

I went to a museum Saturday
enjoying art with daughter, friend, and wife.
It was our daughter's 30th birthday-
a lovely way to celebrate her life!
Then clouds descended on our afternoon.
Discovering, returning to my car
some driver turned the corner far too soon
and mashed my fender, leaving a black scar.
But, lest the hit-and-run scar irritate,
two witnesses displaying kindness, wrote
the color, model, make, and license plate,
and left it on my windshield as a note.
Discouraged by one driver's thoughtlessness
Encouraged by two witnesses' largesse.
