Premium Member Pride and Joy of His Family

Having lived on earth for some time now
Impatiently he dwells, harboring self doubt.
In face of impediments he loses his mind
Acquiring dispositions like hate and lies,
Hosting showmanship to look good and wise.

Never does he claim his world to be saintly
Letting dreams reign and thoughts go wild
Acknowledging failings incapable of verity.

Risking happy tears, triumphs he celebrates
Saving saddened ones to mourn disasters,
Banking on the strength of worn-out hands
As unforgiving minutes tick-tock forever.

When he gets a turn at the wheel of fortune
Losses seem to mount at every pitch-and-toss,
Regretting moments when he says:"hold on"
For he loses the ground on which he stands.

Yet he carries on, in treacherous currents
Swimming boldly in shark-infested waters
Accepting the reality of fish-eat-fish world.

Unsatiated reveries bestow vacant dreams
Never ever venturing to walk with the Kings,
Commoner he is, like his friends in drudgery.

Pride and joy of his family, a Man he's already!

Truth he owns, is the truth he delineates,
Being a flawed man, for forgiveness he prays.

Premium Member A Stranger Came From Nowhere

In the fading gleam enveloping the twilight hour,
the frail edge of lives tended to lose mortal definition,
its meaning masked by the murk of futile existence,
the misty minds sought the glow of the rainbow aura.

A thirsty pilgrim in the relentless pursuit of mirage,
travelled tormented in the wilderness of the desert
to the parched precincts of the dried up earthly souls,
searching for the benign gift from behind the cloud.

On garden path paved by precious stones of their faith,
fragrance of blooming blessings wafted in the dusty air,
the unsatiated mortal souls yearned to comprehend
the euphoric perception configuring the bliss illumined.

Sitting outside the door of the temple a hungry man
seemed to have surrendered the rest of his time to fate,
got some food from a stranger coming from nowhere,
his eyes glinted joy in the rays of the sun that rose for him.

Brume of Fear
                by Odin Roark

So many walk their walk
Amidst the fog of their making,
Seeing not their created mist
Is but the haze of fear
Clouding courage not yet realized.

To pause on one’s journey
Need not be obscured by guilt,
For who among us can effectively succeed,
Without taking an extra breath of awareness,
Discovery demanding what it does.

Yet, why this hesitance in mounting the Pegasus of confidence,
Allow built-up heat from hunger’s unsatiated longings
To carry aspirations above blurred vision,
Beyond evaporative caldrons of doubt,
Converting steaming potions made cowardice
Into weightless heights of fulfillment?

Some will say this desired euphoria
Is achieved but by a few,
Knowing so many of us
Might rise above the fog
Only to create a tempest.

Such is the furtive seduction
The brume of fear has perfected.

Premium Member Death Sings Its Song

Death sings its boisterous song to me
Proudly placing itself as the ruler
Of everything created by the maker
Death sings and kills me softly!

Why, unable to fall for anything else
Other than that which has been fated
For me, I remain, alive and unsatiated
Relying on Death for a blossomed release!

Death sings and pulls my soul closer to it
Readily, willingly, knowing that it shall win
While I will be snatched of my mortal skin
And deprived of any of my remaining wit!

Faced with it, I can only kneel,
In agonising pain,
Filled with tormented disdain
Why, pretending to be made of steel

Is certainly not a task for a frail hearted poet
I'd rather lose myself in Inexistence
Regardless of how, then, life would dance,
As, it would seem that I have already lost the bet!

Pray, I choose to sit and cry in lauded religious books
Hoping to be noticed by the God of all mankind
Hoping then, that He might scrap me off life's line
Since Death is already the greatest of its monarchs!

THE CHANGING WORLD

The age of chivalry and bravery has ended

That of sophistry, rivalry, upon us descended

Those with ability, to charm and talk, are commended

They are now indeed enemies, whom we once befriended

Where has all the love gone, hitherto, unlimited

The human greed for wealth remains unsatiated

For money, men unleash violence unabated

The rich and elite are highly ingratiated

The poor and forlorn man’s woes are unmitigated

Never were people so fearful, streets so deserted

Always under threat, somehow their lives will be disrupted

True, in Eve’s drawl and Adam’s fall, we have lamented

But Devil’s devious ways we have inherited

As peace-loving people, we too were once saluted

Today, hatred and revenge have left us demented

The Greatest Show From Hell

~The Greatest Show from Hell~

A circus quietly drifted through our town,

causing everyone here to curse the ground–

where they toiled to set~up their ghastly show.

They passed the town, demonic eyes aglow—

~*~

†

No jugglers, tight ropes nor funny clowns,

not one living soul– anywhere–to be found.

Not one was sure of their rueful intentions,

demonic creatures from hell's dark dimensions.

~*~

†

A diabolical debauchery– everyone surmised,

Malevolent menagerie's pure evil went undisguised...

~*~

†

The old Barker's visage–terrifying scene!

How his demonic minions danced, would sing;

–luring everyone into a cavort of death.

A performance designed to steal our breath

~*~

†

Like nothing we had ever seen before,

this pale white horrid, smiling troubadour,

raised single bony arm upwards, toward the sky

when, suddenly, from osseous hands did fly—

~*~

†

Such metaphysical mastery, it seemed,

his dead eyes with unholy forces— gleamed;

demanding the townfolks expiation,

or face the fires–eternal Hell's damnation.

~*~

†

A boisterous, bellowing wall of flame,

within the very midst, from whence it came;

all manner of devilish succubi–

did dance and sing a damning lullaby.

~*~

†

Like Pied Piper's rats led to the slaughter,

eldest townsfolk; brothers, sons and daughters,

entered into that billowing wall of flame,

were consumed, never heard nor seen again...

~*~

†

An epoch of such epic proportions!

These creatures, continued—horrific contortions,

until— mercifully— faded to crimson mist

evaporated them, like grain, churned to grist.

~*~

†

The spot is still marked where they all succumbed,

if you're caught standing near, then, back they'll come,

–unsatiated, taking not just young and old...

As they feel, you too, just might be cajoled.

~*~

†

Legend calls it the Greatest Hell on Earth;

a place of torture–a kind of new unbirth

The place I reside, not comfortably well,

having witnessed the Greatest Show from Hell...

Autumn Leaves

Arrhythmic currents flow through trunk
Undulating frothy waves crest bough
Trickling nutrients in warm cavity bunk
Unsatiated leaves wipe sappy brow
Melange of colors sugary tears endow
Nascent blades a new surface do plow

Prating Matador: Tale of Two Tails

In ye old days of yore on Malaga's dreary shore
An untidy castle rimmed by salty moor
Housed a lonely, oft-drunk matador
In briny marsh grazed no sheep, but wild pigs three score
Staggering oft around soggy, muddy estate in boozed, dazed state; prating conquistador
With fitted bed sheet he dodged each, wild, voracious boar
On one fateful eve a rabid boar did his flabby posterior gore
Now ambitions stored, bedded his dreams, salved his sore
'Til one morn, a damsel in distress swooned at his door
Bereft of virility, but saddled with tales of chivalric lore
A hearty tonic the prone maiden he did pore, and spouted tawdry tales galore
Unentranced by availing circumstance, his rambling advances she did ignore
Intoxicated by her lovely essence, her father's residence did implore
Confounded by his incessant inebriating pleas, she fell to the floor
Mistaking her bended knee as fealty to be, he let out a drunken roar
Enraged by his licentious intentions, she yelled, I will not take any more
Mind numbed from numerous droughts, he heard, I am your whore
Giddy, his infertile, limp shaft tried into her sweet mound to bore
But his drooping shaft could not breach her silty core
Frustrated the horny goad reversed positions. riding her till both were saddlesore
Finally breaching the chasm, his spent rod found reeling a chore
But her tapped well gushed and she yelled encore
Now understanding his riding days were over, he cried and swore
His ripening virgin unsatiated bade his pallid pilot her canyon explore
Now contrite, he explained fertile streams no longer from stagnant fount could pore
Giving due penance, purged the dross, and from her steamy vat tore
Forevermore an unfit paramour, jilted matador; who no longer his tainted cape wore

Her New Day

For the woman the world had turned a huge and restless black night
The trees of mango stood at her window looking like black skeletons
Though the time was for the flowers to be in its deep green threshold
For its fulfillment into the mighty flavour of deliciously dulcet freedom
Her newly-born baby was missing from the hospital's maternity ward

The whole hospital got into a tizzy over the said child lifting incident
With more and more intense gloom gathering over the petrified bed
Sat a still statue of black stone from starless dark and dense night
Assurance found no soil in the stone to come out in a green sprout
Milk filled gentle breast kept crying in the core of unsatiated desire

In the dead of night a nurse came close to the bed in a tempest of void
The one day old baby smiled like jasmine held in her arms like a swing
The police recovered him from a nearby six storied apartment complex
A childless woman had stolen the baby to quench her thirst for warmth
The new day snatched from the new mom was thus given back to her

In the very dark night the mother shimmered in the emerging warm sun
This gradually turned into the morning glory of tuberose in a bush of joy
Cherry and chocolate larks came hopping in the new day's golden face
In the middle of sobbing night the new day opened the door of ecstasy
She told all that she had never had such a seagull like new day before

Premium Member Heal Thyself

Reflect on this proverb, oh worthy hermit
'A chain is only as strong as its weakest link'
So let us look deep within the core of our being
To discern the cause why time and again we sink

Bemused by myriad illusions our mind is hypnotised
Flitting about unsatiated between objects of desire
But fleeting moments of joy are followed by pain
Elusive seems eternal bliss for which we aspire

The root cause of suffering then is ignorance
For we flounder about knowing not who we are
In bondage to feral instinct, we discern not the truth
From God’s domain of love and light, we’ve drifted afar

With this recognition, once we shift into tranquil silence
The chinks in our armour are automatically repaired
Divine aligned, love drenched soul stands erect
Mind, body and soul finally with God paired

Premium Member Which Fire Is Eternal

My soul wanders in the dark alley within me,
plunges in the abyss of discontent.
The unsatiated life, unframed and uncertain,
casts a formless shadow of ambiguity on the being,
that flares up as anguish in the carnival of darkness,
burning my essence to ashes of bleak nothingness.

In the gloom of the dismal opaque night,
across the murky landscape of the formidable fate,
I need to take the ordained last journey committed,
for I have promises waiting to be kept,
but I lose the tortuous track travelling the illusive time
in the tormenting gloom of the labyrinth.

The holy fire of spirit is then ignited within me
to incinerate the spreading wings of the deluding ego,
glows the realigned elements of the dormant force,
shows me the path away from the illusive self-worth,
and flashes in the mindscape the sagacious sense,
not to be induced by the imprudent impermanence.

At the fringe of the fleeting forlorn moments,
shaping the perspective of introspection,
and shining in the inner resplendent heavenly light,
I see the blazing sunrise in the dawn of revelation.
The rays of hope radiating from the hued horizon,
illumines the dark recess of the morose mind.

The consciousness in the fold of timeless inner solitude
kindles the concealed candle of the almighty,
that burns with the radiance of the eternal fire,
suffusing me with the glow of sublime bliss,
I carry within me beyond the shadow of strife as I travel
on the promised path to the lighted sanctum of divinity.
