Gibbs Free Energy

I am teetering at the brim of progress
The self I spend to be of worth
Is the same self that I had to earn

And to what end?
I ask,
At what fee?
The ones that stand down do so for free

And all that’s left is work for me
(Fr ,

         PdV)

I hauled up, masochistic Sisyphus
All they did was balk
Scatter, Jack and Jill
Emptily talk
About how hard, how far
Never
I could not

And then for an instant I was on top

[King parenthetical]

They stood with their calculators
Screaming

But negative RTlnKeq ???
Kb T times ln W ???
Enthalpy minus T entropy,
Gives us the standard energy ???

I saw the people finally sap
It was halfway forward to halfway back

I felt something snap

And I fell unfathomably far
To a different bottom
A different problem

I stood intermediate at the foot of the unknown
Before a taller peak to dethrone

--
Note: Gibbs Free Energy (delta G) is a thermodynamic parameter used to describe reactions and stability in chemistry. It is common to see a diagram of delta G vs. reaction progress. These free energy diagrams consist of continuous curves with peaks and troughs. The lower the energy, the more stable.

Unfortunately you have to have significant background knowledge in chemistry to understand every reference.

A World

like no other. Tiny blue speck in a void unfathomably large.
Self aware beings truly not aware of much.
Self impressed with no reason to be.
Obsessed with sex and violence driving forces of existence.
Compression point coming.
Evolution of thought and reality speeding forward like never before, moving at such speed it could easily fly off the rails.
How to manage the transition is the quest. New driving forces must prevail, the old ones will explode it all. Hate and hormones must be exchanged for a global philosophy of humanism that benefits all.
Technology will be the key. Will it be controlled by the few or the many? Will central masters dictate or will mass communication win the day. Will it be a global dictatorship or universal democracy? Will Humanism prevail or will religious/ governmental oligarchies subjugate? The future is fluid. Humanism must prevail, or dystopia it will be.

Premium Member End Up Where I Began

Years gone by I photographed
The sun rise and set, capturing
Kaleidoscopic colors cascading
Dawn to dusk across the untouchable touch
Of God’s unfathomably deep skies.
Overlooking cathedral towers and
Ancient battle fields where blood flowed warm and red;
Church steeples standing sentinel over cemeteries
Of the long ago lovely, now dreaming and drifting past
Stadiums over-filled with laughing, languishing, living dead sentient beings;
Museums, libraries and roads connecting and converging
Past, present, future and all points infinitely between.
In my mind I photographed these.
But now I sit devoid of film,
No camera lens to capture stills
Other than this life I’ve led
Step by step inside my head from
Life to life and death to death,
Ever so thankful for every flower, seed, smile
And whisper of gentle wind upon my face.
Step by timeless step, inching towards the inevitable rendezvous
Of who I really am, knowing
Somewhere between the light of day and dark of night
I’m bound
To end up where I began: With ONE
Eternal Photograph in Hand.

Monologue of a Star

Alone. Terribly, unfathomably alone.
Silently, within the void I churn.
Brilliantly, in hopes to be made known
I'll condemn all that I am to burn.

Reaching. Into the void my warmth is reaching.
My aura pulsing, pleading to be seen
Over the walls of distance breaching
Despite the time and space that lies between.

Empty. A bitter, heavy, crushing empty.
Collapsing, I descend into a hole
Until not even light itself may leave me,
And time and space are under my control.

Oh the Irony, An Ode To Irony

Something nice from someone not so nice,
Happy things that distract you so much you become sad,
Liking someone leading to stress about liking them,
Not being able to breathe because you are on top of the world and the air is so very thin but you are still on top of the world, untouchable, unfathomably pleased.
Oh the irony.
A cursed and blessed and odd sensation of oxymoronic irony.
A beautiful twisted villain in the fate of star crossed lovers, but a gorgeous heroic Deus Ex Machina in the story of otherwise unparalleled lives
The demise from too much love-- ironic.
The accidental meet cute-- ironic.
It flips, it flops, but at the end of the day, nothing stops Irony,
She does what she wants.

Premium Member What Then Is Life and Why

Before the Big Bang brought star dust
To the interstellar scene
It must have been something like
An unfathomably immeasurable self-inducing
Divinely driven dream machine.
Mind forming matter as imagination
Up the ladder
Rungs of time;
Step by step and star by star
Unfolding Love sublime.
Reaching out, emanating
From the center of All meaning;
Building blocks of trees and rocks
More beautiful than being. Born again
Out of ashes
When fire filled the air
And all we knew was something drew
Us to life somewhere.
Out of clay or the primordial egg
So the ancient stories subscribe
Old Adam and Eve and the snake in the tree
And history's first truth or dare or lie.
What then, is life and why?
Could it be the unquenchable thirst for knowledge
Hidden or forgotten throughout time?
Our inner connections to the Cosmic
Creation, that set in motion every ocean
And notion left to find?
Life is a living, dying, loving, lying
Uplifting, lowdown axe to grind.
With every minute of every breath
We suck in deep to breath
All the space, ideas and feelings,
Hopes, wants, cares and needs.
And the long armed quest for nobleness
And the chance to reach deep realms,
As Jason and the Argonauts were seeking
Secrets in themselves.
Down in the waves and dark filled caves
Where memories are never devoured;
Life is a terribly wonder-filled trip
Filled with heroes,
         Monsters
                And the beautiful
                            Wild flowers.

Charming Patterns

Gods of glowing neon and gaudy screens
smile upon charming, charming patterns of heads.
All colors of hair, lit red, then green, then blue,
guided along invisible paths, crown heads
perspiring, chanting and glancing down
on marching, mechanical arms, then worrying
as they scurry along infinite, crisscrossing paths -
at once so ordered and so unfathomably chaotic.
Drums are rolled by hurrying feet
dictating the race of mankind.

A metropolis looms, adorned by a billion shimmering jewels -
electric jewels - and an apparition sways over the
bustle, silently watching, silently floating.
Giant chutes proudly puff out plumes of nightly black
and devils forged in impure fire do rise
to the heavens above, graced by the blessings of
the industrial revolution, in turn blessing humanity with progress,
imperceptible except as phlegmatic gasps
and the whiff of crisp green paper, distinguished by
wizened faces and packed in neat bundles.

Bulbous, aged fingers do trace from within
the sanctum sanctorum of a temple aged a thousand years,
charming, charming patterns of jewels
in intricate, frozen dance, carving out hexagons of perfect symmetry
from wearily cut marble windowsills.
The work of a thousand splendid hands
preserved by the unseen, dusty hands of time
did render the mosque palatial, its beauty heavenly.
The admiring eyes sing hymns praising the architecture, alas
they are blind, for the marble, white as angelic wings, is grey now.

The scientist appears, eyes hidden by thick glassy cubicles
yet shining through, lit by the endless pursuit of knowledge
and equally burdened by numbers, figures, notes
and the maddening myopia of man.
On the screen appears, against fresh white
charming, charming patterns of red, green and blue
sinking downward, worryingly as it would seem,
his uninflected pleas let in through one ear, instantly
shunted out through the next by the populace, to whom
the music of modernity rings sweeter.

Infinity

In vastness lies a secrecy,
Held tighter by unreasonably
Large matters which our mind
Can't reach and simply falls behind;
Yet, wondering in the place of these,
Set right by those whose bias means
That even as we lose our grip
We've yet to fall apart.

Is:

Greatness - telling a darker tale,
And minds that hear it start to fail,
As forward motion places us
On track to fool the rest, and thus
As longing just to find the key
Will hold the lock for each of these:
You teach us what it means to be
Unfathomably Large.

The Well

THE WELL

The emptiness inside,
unfathomably deep,
indescribably wide,
a void that will not fill
though pack it tight we will
with endless striving:
relationships, places, things.
Hauntingly, the space remains
a vacuum.

There is a well, a living spring,
meant to baptize everything:
the emptiness,
the blank charades,
soul voids that hunger,
pain,
sorrows that wrench,
guilt that gnaws,
the Destroyer’s grasping claws
feeding his own emptiness.

Plunge in the Well, the flowing spring,
immerse the soul,
drink fullness, clean,
Christ alone, the water living,
fills every void,
all forgiving:
haunting guilts,
all crushing sorrows,
blessed hope for each tomorrow.
He fills us, fills us ever
that we thirst again
never.

Filtered Vision

I can't get the image of her out of my mind
Her sweeping fringe covering her eyes that are unfathomably green
My lungs burst with sadness and desperation
Fish circle me like death
Eyes that watch
Ears that listen
Mouths that scream
Her her HER
I scream and water passes through my black lifeless lips

Relentless Reign of Greed

This world of atrocious avarice
Marches on in a proud grimace
Corruption and calamity twist and turn in their stomachs, yet peace will conquer nonetheless
Consumption of the blasphemous people shout out their voices of vain pridefulness

Deception deceives the minds of many
Arrogance conceives all kinds of envy
Relentless reign of greed feeds the senseless spoil,
Allowing the poverty-proned needy in terrible turmoil

Some of the wealthy individuals rule over society in unattainable malice unfathomably
It’s horrible that we have a nation that have some leaders that lead in hostility ruthlessly
God will fight for freedom for us, as long as we’ll keep being resilient and brazen throughout our life,
Despite the government’s devastating tribulations; Christ will be giving us life-long joy instead of strife

Redemption comes from the Lord of Accord for each and everyone who believes unconditionally
We all need vigilance and deliverance during these trying times of horrendous sorrows and trials of plenty
This relentless reign of greed has thrived off of our zealous, efficient endurance
By taking advantage of our diligence everyday...cruelty alters into arrogance

It’s an insane world...chaotic and catastrophic in many ways possible
It’s an eccentric place I don’t call my haven...it’s indescribable
But in a detrimentally damaging manner...it’s a danger zone that leaves us feeling insecure and lost in the worthless weeds
It’s a fraudilent frenzy that we have to deal with for a matter of fact...but this relentless reign of greed will soon wither away along with its deeds

Injustice impairs the actions of sophisticated individuals who debate over their wicked plans, getting out of hand...getting out of hand...
Reminiscence of despairs and anxieties plague the minds of many these days
While politicians are feeding us propaganda and shameful sham...when will we make a stand? Will we ever reach out to His right hand?
Deliverance from our Father of truth will set us free from our despondency in many ways

Unfathomably So

I know I can’t write down
All I feel these days tonight
But, I believe you all get what I mean
When I say that I feel alone all over again

Maybe, it’s because not many individuals really want to
Hang out with me like I want to with myself, seems true as an empath
I want to be a part of God's gracious Kingdom, what about you?
Am I on the right track or am I wandering on the wrong path? Do I have to face His wrath?

Well, I haven’t a clue…
Completely, who knew…
I would be this shade of blue…
Body-quaking in this abstract abyss, felt childlike happiness
A shade so deep, away from You…
Hope what I say isn’t true…
If it was, it’s the things I’ve gone through…
I want to function and shine anew beyond this distress…

Will He mend your distress
And replace it with eustress?

Gracious, glorious Lord,
I need You and so much more
I’ve been lonely and bored
But, with You, I belong ashore

My voice, You do not ignore, can’t deny
Then, why do I feel ignored? Oh, why?
Relief from this grief in me
Would be amazing remarkably

I am a desert and You are the river that flourishes and flows in it…
I am the gigantic, blue whale and You are the ocean, epically aquatic

I need confidence and Yours would be awesome to have some
I need deliverance from my past sins – I was evil in Your sight
I am sincerely sorry no doubt, yet I regret all of what I’ve done
I say 'I' far too much, but You can fill me with such bright might

I suffer and I don’t know exactly why, don’t know why
I’m nervous for a change that needs to be done
What have I become? I’m the low amongst your high
I want to reach out to You, but I feel long gone

Alone, but I will believe
On my own, no, I won’t grieve; joyfulness received...
I know I can’t write down, somehow,
The way I feel, unfathomably so…

If I do grieve, don’t leave,
Lord, I need You…these scars need to be relieved…
I know I can write poetry right now…
That’s what I do best, you know

Premium Member A Lost Ring

You can't remember how things used to be
before this business with the ring began.
’Twas on display where all who passed could see;
under its spell, you broke the glass and ran.

With neither explanation nor a need,
you set your prize inside your trophy case.
It seems the ring has once again been freed;
just last week, someone broke into your place.

So here you are, discretely cruising pawns,
unfathomably captured by this gem.
Worse, now you know you're one of many Johns;
bereft, yet joined to some strange diadem.

Detached and disconnected, you push through;
you're never truly lost… The ring finds you.
