The Well

THE WELL The emptiness inside, unfathomably deep, indescribably wide, a void that will not fill though pack it tight we will with endless striving: relationships, places, things. Hauntingly, the space remains a vacuum. There is a well, a living spring, meant to baptize everything: the emptiness, the blank charades, soul voids that hunger, pain, sorrows that wrench, guilt that gnaws, the Destroyer’s grasping claws feeding his own emptiness. Plunge in the Well, the flowing spring, immerse the soul, drink fullness, clean, Christ alone, the water living, fills every void, all forgiving: haunting guilts, all crushing sorrows, blessed hope for each tomorrow. He fills us, fills us ever that we thirst again never. Copyright January 5, 2022
