Faved PoetrySoup poems, I've many a favorite
Are such a treasure trove of Joy
                                    Each one so exquisite

I've many, but imagine, I'll have many, many more
I wish they could be bound in books
                            Purchased through a PS store!

Leaves of golden artistry of poets that I love
A little bit of heaven on earth
                                 Like sunshine from above

I thought to name these poets, that have written
On my heart, but that would take
                                Me quite some time,
I don't know where to start!

Suffice to say, I'm blessed, I love this precious group
                         What treasure troves of blessings
                             These poems on PoetrySoup

Keep shining, keep on writing, your voices like a song
                           The aroma of sweet fragrance
                              Gently stirring all day long

For each new poem that's written, a gem within the sea
A gift of golden treasure is your
                                        Precious poetry

My image shared is just a 'dream' book of sorts, an
idea of how it may be easy for PS to create a personalized
book of our favorite file poems from our dear PS poets.
My mother had an old empty scrapbook I inherited,
I applied the gold lettering just for an example.
Maybe Team Poetry could brainstorm an idea of this
sort, I think it would be wonderful. Anyway, just a thought.

Lock down the LIMPING GROVE.
PIRATES have stolen the TREASURE TROVE.
I know all about the garden shed, how you
Hide and make your bed.
Watching with a whimsical stare he replied
I know nothing of these TRAVESTIES.
HERE are SOME FACTS you MAY not know:
Tedious TEASING TUSSLES to taste the
Truth.
Merciless MUSING knows what treasures
You have stolen, then you will not
Continue to repose
Tell where you have roved lest I'll
Lance YOU WITH this BLADE, to get the JEWELS YOU have
Sought
Real, EXCEPTIONAL TREASURES
Can not be BOUGHT. Drop your sack where you stand, do
This as I demand. A search of the sack revealed
Nothing familiar. As he made a hasty EXIT a telling
Jingle was heard.

PRICELESS GOES the NINES WITH
FEARLESS YOU IN MIND.

a blazing red sky
romance whispered on the wind. . . .
our island retreat

strolling hand in hand
along a secluded strand. . . .
the brink of passion

as long sun-warmed waves
crash against the ocean’s edge. . . .
we fall to the sand

blissful on the beach
true feelings at last revealed. . . .
a treasure trove found

Quaint Treasure Trove

An ivory castle of delightful dreams
that holds on the memories of lost love.
A token of remembrance, a golden requiem
that is built on the wings of a mourning dove.
Taj Mahal for all lovers a quaint treasure trove.

The Taj Mahal meaning Crown of the Palace is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is an Embodiment of their legendary love and described by Noble Laureate - Rabindranath Tagore as "the teardrop on the cheek of time."

Treasure Trove

After working day long, was relaxing mind and soul With a beautiful song.

gazing around,my eyes caught the glimpse Of a bright colored book.

It was my diary ,a vault of wonderful memories Of good and bad.

Sweet music was being played in the heart, when i saw one unfinished poem looking

Sadly at me,saying ,give me a beautiful ending.

A poem, which is treasure trove of unsaid feelings ,but still hold so strong in the heart.

The poem got its beautiful end,and feelings still linger in the heart, even when the
person goes away from us.

Its not that feelings are dead and Heart had dried up,they blossom like a flower

every time whenever they Cross our minds and make us relish those wonderful moments.

Tears rolled down my cheeks Of content and happiness.

Almighty My Treasure Trove

Almighty my treasure trove

Kill my pride with your healing vision
Fill me Lord with your softest love
Till your words charge life into me
Will worship Almighty my treasure trove

Continuous praises to your supreme presence
Joyous worship to delight your holy heart
Courageous spirits declare your graceful glory
Gracious blessings bestowed from heaven’s cart

My Attic Treasure Trove

26/2/2012
By Sashi Prabhu (zeauoxian)
Contest: treasure trove

Austerely laid my eyes firmly on my garden far side
Tattered page piles, from my attic treasure trove, littered outside.

I picked up a dog eared page of the days of sitting together,
In this garden, cuddling and smooching in cold weather.

On such a glorious winter day, I scribbled on this page love notes,
A long time ago, by the way, in double quotes

Nostalgic now the dismal, Melancholy tenors that fill in,
Memories of “au revoir”, replete my poignant heart to its brim.

A wind now blows this dog eared page & it flies by the old gum tree
Dully chase it with some rage &as I see the page, begin to read all about me……………..

For the last two lines, the paper is vacant void & bare,
Heart’s healed wounds to open with quinine drenched text I would not dare.

A Treasure Trove of Love

Sweet memories folded inside Grandma's quilts and afghans
A cedar chest of forgotten trinkets caressed in my hands

This treasure trove holds a young girls dreams of love
A drop in Heaven's showers raining from above

Every drop gathers love from the garden bestowing affection
She wonders will she vaporize before she sees her own reflection

From the clouds, she hears, "do not fear", a voice true and wise
Love will grow, love will bloom, soon the vapors will rise

Heaven keeps all the love raindrops cannot contain
The clouds expand, the love will burst and rain will fall again

In the continuum of life, she will learn love never dies
The young girl will share her love; clouds will bring blue skies

I have a little treasure trove where I keep special things.
Today I thought I'd take it out, search through my memories.
Inside were pictures, souvenirs and things almost forgot,
And then among some special notes, a paper I knew not.

It seemed at first a poem that was started long ago.
Written just for me, in secret by my beau.
He must have written hurriedly, and stuck it in my hand,
To tell me I was special, he thought that I was grand.

I've kept that note, his song of love, for lo these many years;
And as I read it through again, it still brings me to tears;
For this song was like his love, he said it had no end,
Till I became his wife and so a new song could begin.

                                                                       Judy Ball

Treasure Trove

We laughed so long and so loud
Our only witnesses were the clouds
You jumped up and shouted, Yes!
That was you, at your best

We thought you had snagged a bass
It could have been a whale
That brim was so tiny
In unison, we all fell

Thinking back on that time
Finding this beautiful treasure trove
Good thing we caught four brims today
We can now fire up the stove

Yesterday's tempest eroded the shore
uncovering part of a treasure trove.
For we found a ring with a crimson stone
and a few coins exposed near the mangrove.

My daughter fell in love with the prospect
of a rich harvest, and ran on ahead.
For that ring, forgotten for untold years,
held hope, and helped her enthusiasm spread.

In the misty fog, she's a mere shadow
a silhouette, moving with fluid grace.
And though I could no longer see her smile
I knew, that it was lighting up her face.

She runs to the beach with impatient feet
chasing down trinkets, given by the brine.
And hopes, to find a fabulous treasure,
while I am enjoying my time, with mine.

Treasure Trove

I went to look for my treasure trove

I had it hidden away in a small alcove

Found a poem that was in complete

Decided to finish it and make it sweet

It was about true love and friendship

That was half done because my mind did slip

To leave it this way would make me feel hollow

With my heart full now my words would easily flow

I wrote everything down that you meant to me

There was so much to say the lines came easily

I spoke my mind of you and poured out my soul

Polished my verse and finally made my verses whole

I pleasure dove into my treasure trove
Of keepsakes and mementos
I snoop around here about every ten years
And am always amazed at how quickly the time goes

There are pictures and things, an old mood ring,
Ticket stubs and newspaper clippings;
Blue tipped matches, old ID badges,
Birth announcements and all the memories that they bring

When I dove in this time I found an old rhyme
That I had written but was half complete
I promptly opened it and now here I sit
Thinking to finish it might be real neat

It reads:
I am a young man but I have a real plan
About the way I wish to live my life
I hope that my stories contain lots of glories
And I can make a career out of doing things that I like

I know that I am young; my journey just begun
And it is too soon to create a Bucket List
But I hope to one day, when I am older and grey
Come back and check off the things that I’ve missed

So I reviewed that old list and all the things it consists
As a teardrop formed in my eye
For I just had to laugh, I hadn’t even done half
And I’ve only a few years left yet to try

So I folded up that poem and stuck it back in its home
Without having completed the verse
I will come back to it here in a couple more years
But there are some things that I have to do first

NOTE: I wrote this for a contest but when I went back and re-read the rules I discovered it has far too many lines ... but I like the poem so I am posting it here, I just won't enter it into the contest. Thanks for the inspiration though.
