Premium Member Character Traits

On my own terms my life I walk brave,
setting the course on the pathway I pave.
Nameless probing people uncalled, I descry
break the fence of protected privacy and pry,
ask incisive questions to slice my persona they try.
I don’t reply.

Their footprints I follow, they want with pride,
abandoning me for what I am on the wayside,
to exist as a mute formless entity dormant.
Caustic comments they make of me being adamant,
my character traits make on them negative impact.
I don’t react.

In my heart sunk in the quicksand of time weary,
emotions struggle to rise from the unfeeling debris.
The good done to me I don’t acknowledge loud,
but buds of their love bloom in me, I keep under shroud,
porous sensitivity absorbs all the feelings inarticulate.
I don’t demonstrate.

I will do what I do at free will until I finally sleep,
even if you all call me a deviant black sheep,
for life for me isn’t to fit in your measurement.
I would be me intransigent.

John had his mom’s eyes
Inherited her kindness --
Keen sense of humor

Sweet sister-in-law
They shared love for animals --
She and I still close

Never met father
John tried to avoid his fate --
Died young like his dad

British Traits That Ain'T So Great

We as British people are known around
the world for our own individual traits

Such as we are supposed to be and
thought of as polite

Love ever so saying and apologizing
for anything and everything even if it
isn't actually in fact out fault

People say we even love and don't
mind queuing

Our self deprecating sarcastic sense
of humor

The Crown a Royal wedding like when
Harry met Megan

But there are also a few other traits that
can be added to the list which aren't
that great , such as

How we love espousing our views and
values upon the world at large with such
overbearing righteousness and sincerity

Well that is all well and good if in fact
theoretically it actually worked in practice
and we had managed to solve our own
problems here closer at home first

No 1 has quite ever explained why we
can't don't or are unable to rather try fixing
our own 1st before we go in search of others

And I promise then I will start worrying about
the plight of the snow leopards of Afghanistan
homeless cat's 3rd world debt and adopting
a child or building a school in god knows where

When I have any spare change left after
tripping over and giving to the homeless
on my doorstep or soon to be able to afford
and provide either electricity or food for
my own family

Who made us the arbiter of the world
and best placed to right and solve
all of the world's problems and wrongs

Our day's of Empire are long gone we
are no longer technically a superpower

Maybe it's time to start concentrating on
matter's here closer to home

And try instilling and restoring a bit
or some sense of pride back in all
of our own

Because everyone would benefit from
that and wouldn't only be good but
Great for all of us who reside here in Britain

I dreamed my way here
I’ve had my cringe moments
I feel pressure, I lose perspective
I’ve wholeheartedly failed
I misspeak, underthink, overreact
I try to do the right thing
the right thing isn’t always clear
I’ve tried to hold on
I’ve let go with grace
I’ve charged ahead
I’ve stepped aside
I self-sabotage, then try to do better
I’ve self-consciously retreated
I’ve stood up for others
I’ve backed down and apologized
I’ve rinsed and repeated
I’m a chameleon, but I’ve never been perfect
I’ve under-reacted to challenges
I’ve overreacted to the ordinary
I devalue likeability
I indulge the language of play
I share my human experience
I don’t know what else to say.

Premium Member Who I Am

"I have built my foundation with life's bricks;
I exist. I am me. And that has been enough. "

                                    Quote by_ Constance

My character traits define who I am,
both inherited morals and life lessons taught;
translating me is like an anagram !
Best, I be good because ... I only get one shot;
but, will not pretend that my life is Camelot.

Trustworthy, honest, respectful and kind,
always polite, friendly, grateful, open-minded;
lover of nature ... animals inclined !
I am proud, brave, courageous and worldly-minded;
though calm, tranquil and peaceful, I am strong-minded.

I am a dependable loyal friend,
always reliable, encouraging, sincere;
never, ever will I lie or pretend !
But, I will not claim to have no flaws ... lets be clear;
and am not afraid to share them with a sad tear.

I wear my grief like a heavy dark cloak,
and get hurt easily  ...  often melancholy;
cruel life will often leave me heart broke !
Though sad emotions my colors are not palely
and I am soon back on life's fast moving trolley

Premium Member An Ode To My Three Strong Traits

I needed someone in whom I could trust
to let me know of my three strongest suits.
I asked my daughter; instantly she gave
a quick summation of my attributes.

The first she named (my easy-going ways)
I had not quite expected, but in her view
since I’m rarely ruffled, I am at ease.
The more I think about it, that’s very true.

I’m tolerant; not much will set me off.
Forgiving and relaxed is how I am.
As Popeye the Sailor Man was wont to say:
“I yam what I yam, and that’s what I yam!”

The second trait my daughter mentioned was
I’m fun – an easy one for me to guess.
Housework I will shirk if there’s to be had
a good time! I’ll just leave the house a mess.

Fun and easy-going go together.
What reason in the world is there to be
too hard on others or on my own self?
I love to laugh and often I’m carefree.

I like the last thing that my daughter said.
Of scriptures, it would be my favorite one,
which starts out with the two great words “Be kind.”
“Be kind to one another,” said God’s son.

I’ve never been the perfect nurturer
as a mom, but I feel at least I’m kind.
To know my daughter thinks of me this way
gives me much gratitude and peace of mind.

Character Traits

This soul is gentle, proud and true
I’ve veins of red and veins of blue
Red like flames that lick the air
Blue that hides, they’re unaware

The heart that worships and adores
Is the same that pulls away, ignores
I walk away by floorboard creak
Too shy to see them or to speak

But Saturdays I’m awfully loud
Swerving through the lively crowd
With neon lights of green and pink
I think I had too much to drink

I love the mornings, fresh cut grass
The big bronze bells that ring for mass
The moon enchants me way up high
And brings about a wistful sigh

My moods are many colored hues
Silvers, golds, the deepest blues
I keep my love behind a wall
I am human, after all

Unquenchable chameleons,

mull misfits lacking Ephesians,

Manifested mind's origins,

Premium Member The Image of God In Man

A human made in God’s image
with noble form, face, eyes, and limbs.
Created species of such form
was not before that time the norm.

Divine experiment it seems
of which we humans only dream.
A creature made, with nature less
would manifest, divine essence.

God, the epitome of love,
resides in heaven up above.
When mothers love those who they wean
God’s trait in man on earth is seen.

God is all-wise, omniscient
Always alert, never remiss.
The variedness of human views,
reveals the mind of God diffused.

God has no beginning or end.
This gift to man He did extend.
Man’s quest to live eternally,
declares God’s trait, in him, still stirs.

Though marred by sin, God’s image shines,
through noble deeds, of various kinds.
When saving grace, invades humans,
their god-like traits shine in sharp view.
