Best Toads Poems
Auf stillem Wasser
So im sanften Mondlicht
Der Ruf der Unken
On quiet water
There in the gentle moonlight
The call of the toads
De agua tranquilo
En suave luz de la luna
Los gritod de sapos
In the midst of fiery crises
I miss cool, shady oases
O, Fountain, spring forth your fresh water
revive my land to evergreen
O, Abdim's storks, will you perch my neem?
O, white-feather, flaunting egrets
harbingers of rain,
and night croaking toads,
I've missed your glad tidings again
In the midst of hot desert dunes
I miss monsoons
and rows of sorghum
demarcated by a sorrel hedge
I miss evening drizzles
and their running clouds
nightly torrents
and showers between sunshines
Wash Those Froggies, Wash Those Froggies,
Dirty Froggies Get Eaten By Moggies.
Don't Be Mean, Get Them Clean
While You Read Your Magazine.
I never understood the saying
"It's raining cats and dogs".
It would make a lot more sense
If it was raining toads and frogs!
Though I'm ugly and I'm old,
And I'm fat and I'm bald,
And I'm grey and I'm cold;
I've still a story to be told …
I've never been a handsome prince
As far as I can tell;
Unless I lost my memory
During a witch’s evil spell!
I started my spawned life in a pond,
In that valley, there beyond,
I haven't always been a 'toad-in-the-hole',
I was once, a cute tadpole,
Hmmmn … those were the days.
I'm a source of fear for superstitious folk
The hapless butt of many a joke,
I'm not endearing, or the least bit cute,
With all the charm of a hob-nail-boot.
I’m not a worshiper of the sun,
My warty skin preferring it dank,
So I make my home in a shaded hole,
In a man-made stone hedge, or a bank.
You might think that I'm between
A rock and a hard place,
That I've got my back to the wall,
But it's me that's never worked,
Paid tax or had a mortgage,
And never had to go to school!
When I'm licking toads I regress into a dream
Glory is bestowed you won't believe what I have seen
We travel this same road don't know where it may lead
The greedy overload take much more than they need
When I'm licking toads I slip inside a dream
After a smoke I think I know what this all means.
When my mind is high so much higher than a kite
Something stirs inside like my soul has taken flight
Those things that hide in life often side by side
Have faith that real Love will never tell a lie
When my mind is high like that flying kite
This feeling deep inside can never be denied.
When I feel like this I giggle like a loon
Could be really tall look down upon the moon
Life should be a ball wake every day at noon
Please don't crash and fall don't come home too soon
When I feel the urge to giggle like a loon
Body stays put my spirit surges past the moon.
When I'm on the roll and leaping cloud to cloud
It's nothing like a stroll through the Sheeping crowds
With policeman on payroll that shouldn't be allowed
The dick's shout like trolls so very very loud
When I'm on the roll and roaring through the crowds
I like nothing more than soaring through the clouds.
When I need to see there's more than meets the eye
I close them both and look out through my mind
The ignorant could think I'd be rendered blind
The arrogant would say it's all a waste of time
They can't see the joy hiding just behind the eyes
They have closed their eyes, but they have shut their minds.
When your spirits free and truly can it roam
Just Let It Be you'll find your own way home
You could follow me til your confidence has grown
There will come a time when you can make it on your own
When you spirits free and it's truly had a roam
Just Let It Be who cares if you make it home.
When evening turns t morning in barely but a blink
The realizations dawning from that time to think
Got no time for yawning need to find that missing link
You won't find me snoring but i'l teeter on the brink
When evening turns to morning hardly time to blink
The realizations dawning that I begin to stink.
How I yearn to write of adoration
Love
Pattering heartbeats and Rose petals on pillows
And my how my stomach billows
At the thought of you
As freshly washed sheets in a springtime
Blue
But the brutal truth
My poor valentine
Regrettably
Theres not one romantic bone in this body of mine
Just lust care and drudgery
A tad of trust between I and thee
Never could fill my basket with all mine eggs
Childhood prepared me with starter gun legs
To deal with things in surviver mode
Yet still my darling you kiss this toad
sweet rainy season
alike voice of toads in ponds
no sound when dried up
Do Toads Cause Warts?
By Elton Camp
Touching a toad might make us feel sick
But to give warts would be quite a trick
For toads don’t even have warts to begin
Those bumps are only glands in their skin
That viruses cause warts all experts say
They’re from humans and no other way
Handshaking, infected objects, public shower
All these to transmit the virus have the power
In the skin just some very minor break
To admit the virus is all that it does take
Warts, in a couple of years, usually disappear
Of serious consequences there’s little to fear
So if developing warts you would like to stop
Careful of infected objects and wear flip-flop
And go ahead and touch a toad if you will
Especially if that happens to give some thrill
Horny Toads
Grandpa knew everything,
that was needed to be known,
always.
I stayed every summer,
from the time before I remember,
until the time I pray,
never to forget.
We worked in the garden.
We dug holes, and planted seeds.
Everything was new to me.
Miracles were in the garden.
Tiny things that most miss.
an ant, a spider, a snake,
and if you are very, very lucky…
you will find,
a toad…with horns.
Unicorns are in the bible.
God had Noah build an ark.
We are small "He" is tall,
and wonders…
never cease,
when Grandpa…
goes to plant vegetables.
LITTLE CHILD read the dictionary:
a poem about all things!
Strains of marigold those
shadows of dancing old!
Ashes to ash all-in-all
a mental addiction
burning wells of poetry
all souls a poem
Cut yourself with A's
and create imaginary gardens
with real toads
real change -- the only poem
And Life is brazenly amazing
leaving no time for thought.
is what i heard.

Story of frogs, toads, salamanders and newts
Crocodiles, seals, beavers with flutes.
These cold-blooded moist skins
Amphibians with twins
Live on land and sea in custom wet suits
I'm a frog, you're a frog,
Everyone's a frog-frog,
On a log, in the bog,
Hiding from the dog-dog.
Once we shared
the same swizzle stick and paper plate,
ate the casserole no one else wanted,
but then there were the toads.
The Atlantic flushed, hands were washed,
the toads stayed to be reasons why.
I filled a storage unit with them,
at night I hear their forlorn croaking.
I’m hoping they'll evolve,
become less noxious.
You kept your toads also,
and wrote to say,
their warty appearance began to improve
the moment I left.
Summer Winds
Amidst strong winds, John was treading the road
Carrying on his back a heavy load,
It was a pitiful sight
To brave the wind in such plight:
When load fell down, it showed a bag of toads!
