Best To The Bitter End Poems

Way of the River

My waters had their genesis in the sea,
A path created was fashioned for me;
It can't be changed for there my toil
Winds through life in a twisting coil.
My waters end where they began,
Where life takes hold of its brief span;
To return to that enigmatic source,
Where once again I flow on my course.
The fragrance from the flowers as I pass,
Scent the air with whispers from the grass;
And my waters run down as they go
Over gemlike stones my streamlets flow.
And the tears that pour from my sad eyes,
Go back to the sea where all rivers rise;
And if my soul should suddenly leap
Over a ledge to kiss violets that sleep;
Then I will wander back to the sea,
The mother source that set me free.
And if those riddles I must keep,
Let me not complain, but sweep
On to the bitter end without fear,
Knowing that He who walks with me is near.

Premium Member Sometimes My Words

they’re sensitive my words
exposed wires
like veins hidden
under the scars
of too many verbal attacks
like swarms of vampire bats
who puncture the night
turn the downpour red

you’ve never been able to stay on key
or open doors that needed one
like the beating one under your breast
with the rusted bars and the rusted lock

living in the city
alone is your state of mind
where once you found
the company to be friendly
where you could block those thoughts
travelled in the dark memories of your existence
and the only light was the bright white smile
you so casually hid behind
your casual stiff pose that fooled no one
not for a nickel or a dime

where glass although smoother than ice
cracked under your sharpened blades
it was there your pretty face resided
ugly and broken from that perspective

until you pulled out
your pencil and paper
until you placed people
and moved them
taught them to talk

saw something in that
for a little while you turned off the tap
suddenly attracted a crowd
one or two even saw beyond your guise
felt fine just to be you
for a length of time

before you fell
on the pavement
buried
in the concrete
oh too real

you were there
you were gone
and never regained your balance

life as easy as it comes
was too difficult
couldn’t explain
how you managed to grow old
sitting singular in your unlit corner
where nothing came of your success
or of your kind words
from your kind lips

and still kind

hopefully

to the bitter end

Premium Member Snoopy, the Red Baron, and Dragon

Dragon fell asleep at his nappy time, and his dreams were so sublime.
He’d just heard the song, ‘Snoopy Vs The Red Baron’, one more time.
That Plus ‘Snoopy’s Christmas’, both were… very old… favorites of mine!
And, I swear to you… this is how his dreams… Really… did align…

Snoopy’s Dog House was in for repair. His little mechanic bird friends…
Were working feverishly making repairs for Snoopys’ next battle to begin.
But as the time drew near… Snoopy couldn’t wait… He couldn’t be late.
A Duel of honor had been struck, and it was time for the Red Baron’s fate.

He’d AGAIN appear! Snoopy had to be there at dawn, to fight for our team.
To save our beloved Life, Liberty, Freedom, and the great American Dream.
The Red Baron was never late, or missed, this duel! He yearly repeated…
It was the anniversary of his greatest loss. This, he wanted! No! He needed!

This was, once again, his chance to Win! So Snoopy did the amazing thing!
He called on Dragon to see him thru! Yes, Dragon would supply the wings.
He’d be in a dog fight with Snoopy, against the Red Baron, to the bitter end.
What the Red Baron didn’t know was… he didn’t stand a chance, my friend.

Not with these two Super heroes, together, and they did start out, so true!
At least, until Snoopy’s machine gun jammed! Oh! What would they do??!!
Freedom Simply Couldn’t Be Lost, when it didn’t go, as they had planned!
But never fear, with Dragon here, at Snoopy’s inventive, brilliant command!

Snoopy called on Dragon’s most wonderous, Top Secret Strength, acquired!
Yep, you guessed! He had Dragon spit out, Really, Great, Big Balls of Fire!
Naturally that couldn’t be beat! Better yet, as The Red Baron leaned in…
Diving from above! Dragon did the greatest Loop de Loop EVER SEEN!

Yep, He ended up, right behind the Red Baron’s illustrious, flying machine!
Then Snoopy let his Dragon of War loose, to do his special thing, so keen!
And as you guessed, the tail of the Red Barons’ plane, caught fire, so sweet!
Sending him home… in a massive, humbling, complete and utter DEFEAT!

The moral of this story is: Never Mess with our… American Super Heroes!
Dedicated to the True Heroes of 9/11, the First Responders, and our Amazing
Soldiers… They’re the best the World will ever see!

Rose you were such a wise lady and a wonderful friend
I continued to visit you almost to the bitter end

Other friends abandoned you because you were so frail
But I continued visit and see your cheeks pinched and pale

How I miss our chats, we’d eat biscuits and drink tea
You were such a wonderful friend to me

You gave me a hydrangea, its flowers a pretty blue
So never a day passes when I don’t think of you

If we could meet again for one more day
We’d share the gossip and laugh our cares away

I’ll never forget when you taught me to line dance
Prancing around your lounge to songs of sweet romance

You practiced reiki and spiritual healing
You’d help me with issues that I was concealing

I remember that Christmas party, you dressed as a Christmas pud
You had me in hysterics the costume you made was oh so good

Breast cancer stole you away and bitter tears I cried
For we were away on holiday at the time you died

Your anniversary gift in our garden still grows
I think of you every day my lovely friend Rose

Life

Morning has broken,
Like the first morning,
Black bird has spoken,
Like the first word

Compare this to life,
My dearest friends,
We must live life to the full,
To the bitter end.

I sit here amazed,
At what life will bring,
Seemingly un phased,
Still unable to sing

Destined for greatness,
Me? I think not,
The great unanswered question,
Will I be famous or not?

A gripping finale,
My lifes a thriller,
The music grows tense,
The ending a spine chiller.

Hows this thriller end,
My friends I cant say,
For the best advice,
Is to live for today

A Poet Was He

Love is having, love is lost

Love believing that it is the key

This is what love is to me

Way back in ninety five

When I met a poet

A poet was he

He took me by the hand

Taught me about love

We were friends

We were lovers

To the bitter end

He would read poems in my ears

Would write my name like I was a goddess

Like no other

With a magic swirl

Held me like I was his dear

He kissed the light in my soul

Held me with an inspiration

We danced barefoot in the dark

Kissed in the grass in the park

Explored the avenues of our minds

Took me by surprise in never-never land

He listened to my songs

Helped me share my heart

Kissed my very soul

There were no tears

Then he was gone

The beauty of him

Took me by surprise

Our breath was ours

For the taken

And oh the lovemaking

My life have been filled

Lots of events

With lots of tragedy and laughter

But few regrets

Looking back over the past

So glad of memories

To make it last

As I experienced the pain

Of loss of my poet lover friend

In the end

I survived and live

With what is left

I will never forget

The friend I had

What I have seen

What was felt!

I do stand, laugh and love

I still

Shed a tear

As well as fear

At the end of time

Before I die

I’ll never forget my poet

And a Poet was he!

To the Bitter End

With the Darkness from within your own heart's a wry,
You're going to die without anyone to love you and no one to cry.
Just alone by yourself on the bed of your death,
With the stench of regret emanating from your last dying breath,

For you have chosen the path of a bitterly selfish man,
With the blood of your wife and children on your hands.
For the penance you'll pay for the way you've behaved,
Will be written in plain as the name of your grave.

In the fiery pits of hell will your soul perish in agony and horror,
For the consequences of murder is harsh punishments with fervor.
No amount of pleading will cease your unending suffering,
For the aftermath of those deaths is misery and agony unrelenting and neverending.

For the shadows of ghosts of the happenings that will be,
Or maybe those happenings are by made by you for you only.
For you can't buy your way to repent on the deaths you've erased,
The ever-so-clear punishment of infinite torment in death will serve those souls well repaid.

Premium Member She Kept My Secrets

Connie was a terrific best friend
She kept my secrets forever and a day
We were a galloping duo to the bitter end
Then college called, and I was whisked away

Fifteen hands high with a fanciness for fruit
Connie was a gentle filly with a love that was full
My two oldest children thought she was a hoot
No one ever called Connie boring or dull

I envision her running across verdant grasses
A meadow that is taking her love of galloping easily
Connie is giving angel children a ride with passes
There is a special paradise where she rides breezily

I see her black mane whipping in the air, she is fine.
I know she is in heaven, where the best friends go.
I am so grateful that Connie was totally mine.
She will greet me in heaven, this I really know.

The Scorpio

The Scorpio is dynamic and shrewd
Once in love, they’re faithful and true
Passionate, loyal, once they’re tied
But there feelings, they can hide

If they’re hurt, they seek revenge
Right through to the bitter end
Don’t dare trend on Scorpio’s tail
Make a mistake, better run like hell

Cause them pain, you wish you never
They're very cunning and extremely clever
They really have a dark side too
Never lie, they can see right through

Known as the world’s greatest lovers
As the opposite sex soon discovers
Their ---- drive is just so amazing
Once stung, and your be ----------

Intelligent, powerful with majestic eyes
One look from them, you’re be hypnotized
Charming, persuasive and pleasant to see
These are the Scorpio’s loving and free

Scorpio’s can rule from there heart or there head
One strike from them and you could be ---------
They master their emotions and can be great fun
Although the most possessive signs, under the sun

Determined, romantic with a hint of jealousy
The Scorpio’s traits are endless you see
Once you commit, there be your best friend
Laughing and joking, but please don't offend

Ruled by the planets Pluto and Mars
Under the moon, guided by stars
Their element is water, they value precious time
All this I know, because it's my birth sign

Raciism

Racism

                                A word chosen from prejudice,
                                Something meant to seperate.
A word so complexed it serves no justice,
For its root is love's hate.

It has the meaning to divide the mind,
Just as its divided us through time.
Generation by generation it shows its face,
So to destory the lovers of faith and grace.

Its the profiler of colorless hate,
                                Denying those their proper fate.
                                Eliminating the will of others,
                                Causing one to disallow further.

Racism has no partner or friend,
It always plots to the bitter end.
From land to land it spreads
Like a weed it moves till things are dead.

                                Its a blackness that seals,
                                Making promises and bad deals.
Overspreading a man's will to fight,
Taking an taking with its genocodial might.

Racism provides no morals or support
For its gender is white/black consotrs.
And when rebillion marches against its will,
It finers new ways to legally kill.

Killing those who defy its plan,
Confining them for taking the stand.
Yet the power of racism are but heard,
For its useage is but a simple word.

Bless My Beer

When friends do stray
And days grow drear;
It's nice to know
I can sip a beer.

Oh bless my beer
To the bitter end;
That foam topped glass
Is my best friend.

When I'm feeling blue
It is always here;
On a moment’s notice
The warmth is cheer.

You've seen me through
A marriage thrice;
And although those times
Were not so nice;
I always knew
I could depend on you.

Farewell Winter

A Life Worth Fighting For Tribute To Dr Angela Farr Griffin

We've all arrived at the point of our
homecoming and have come to realize
That life can be a stumbling block or
a stepping stone towards the heavenly prize
And our departure our homegoing
will surely come one day
Just make sure you fought the good fight
as you journeyed on your way

Yes life is a struggle, a tug of war
a push and a pull
But never forget to move forward
to progress like a tenacious bull
For power concedes nothing
we must fight for everything
There will be tears, there may be fears
Just don't stop til the final bell rings

My 1st Lady Dr. Angela Farr- Griffin
was a fighter most supreme
A progressive praying warrior
who lived out her dream
A valedictorian in high school
who earned her Masters and Ph.d
A promoter of health and wellness
a Doctor of Physical Therapy
A mother of 2, a grandmother to 2
and wedded for 40 years
She fought cancer to the bitter end
and never showed any fear

A life worth fighting for
that's how we all should live
To put on the full armor of God
and the Holy Spirit to us He did give
A soldier in the army of the Lord
she battled and fought every day
Her homegoing has come to pass
and towards Heaven she's made her way

She witnessed, worked and worshiped
to increase the kingdom of God
She always put her faith first
and from Him she would never depart
Passionate about many causes
Which led her to start many ministries
She believed if you stayed idle
you can't claim the victory
But most of all she was a worshipper
she continuously praised the Lord Christ
She danced, she sang she exalted Jesus
everyday of her life
But the devil is a liar
who only wants to destroy
But Angela was a jubilant warrior
consistently filled with joy

She fought the good fight
she had a life worth fighting for
And now she with her Savior
Our Lord Christ forevermore

When boys take arms to protect and serve
They only think about, can I make the curve

The cause is just but, do I have the nerve,
hearing all the veterans talk and I observe

They speak of pride and honor, doing what's right
and I ask them "how many did you kill in that fight"

Then, as a silence takes hold of all the noise,
these men stare in silence, like long lost boys

They say "war is a hell, where good men die"
and behind hollow stares, some of them cry

He was a Hero, they say speaking of a friend
knowing he had their back to the bitter end.

Know he sits all alone in a crowded bar,
drinking to forget, staring at a bronze star

Promises that he made to men in graves,
flow in all his thoughts, like endless waves

Why was I the one that survived that day,
they had wives and children to watch at play

I'm home now, with all pieces of me in disarray
42 years, since I kissed the ground in the USA

no star to show but, in pieces like their friend
I carry promises made, as I try to make amends

I think, with all of life's burdens, it's OK if I drown
God says, "I'll take all burdens, just put them down"

Vlad and Don, a Love Story

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
Thanks for the hack
Put me in front and Hillary back
I owe you my amazing win
For you I’ll do anything

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
you pull my strings
For you I can do so many things
You have something on me, yes its true
Lets keep it a secret between me and you

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
Be my best friend
Bffs to the bitter end
I won bigly with you, so all my thanks
Now teach me how to roll the tanks

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
So strong and powerful, you’re my kind of guy
Your enemies all seem to mysteriously die
You and I don’t have to fight
We both know that might makes right

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
Teach me how you silence opposition
so I can do it from my White House position
crybaby losers, my boot on their head
I’ll mock them by twitter as I crush them dead

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
how many journalists did you kill
that would give me such a thrill
Send bannon out as my murderous attendant
Bury them all with their first amendment

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
come real close
but don’t poison me with a lethal dose
like that guy from the KGB
You put plutonium in his tea

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
so-called judges might tell me no
then checks and balances got to go
Congress might stop me with laws they pass
They’ll burn like the Reichstag, to a heap of ash

Vladimir oh Vladimir,
We’re like-minded brothers
Leading a world of like-minded others
We’re leaders in the global fight
with our global army that fight for the white
