Bless My Beer

When friends do stray And days grow drear; It's nice to know I can sip a beer. Oh bless my beer To the bitter end; That foam topped glass Is my best friend. When I'm feeling blue It is always here; On a moment’s notice The warmth is cheer. You've seen me through A marriage thrice; And although those times Were not so nice; I always knew I could depend on you. For What Turns You On - Contest Elizabeth Wesley

What kind do you like, Liz? I grew up in Denver just a few miles from Golden, CO where they brew Coors. You could get 3/2 beer at age 18. There was enough alcohol that if you drank enough of the stuff you could get pretty high. Those days are over. I dare not touch alcohol now, but Jim Beam has gotten me through some scary public performance. Good hic write. Love, daver

Being a beer lover myself, I couldn't resist this one... playful and full of wry humour. (My beard is shorter now!) Best wishes, Keith

I see you won in the contest with this entry. Congratulations! It has good wording and rhyming, even though you sacrificed good grammar in your first verse so the second and fourth lines would rhyme. Still it was a fun read.
