a few missing pieces
ones we may never find
the beast stares down at us
just waiting to pounce
three bloodied blind eyes
can't see the pink butterflies

psychedelic lies flow down stairs
colourless swirls checker board squares
check
where's your mate
blind in life
blind in death

who will save us
save us
save us from us

students with razor blades
cut their arms in school
no one questions their scars
it takes a village to raise a child

only women carry the bleeding lily
have to answer to strange twisted clocks
strum a lonely shape
on strings that bite
play till the tips break
until the skin shows bone

who will save them
save them
save them from us

wounded hands
won't speak to me
maybe people just die
no mention of our sins
grey clouds loom over earth

where is the man
who parted the waters
the large belly
the long beard
where is the one
whose image is ours

is it true
seek and you shall find

who will save us
save us
save us from us

Through frayed seams a rosy dream bleeds
needled and re-stitched
with threads of time and love and hope..

and still — a rosy dream bleeds
the miscarriage of a promised rose garden
leaving me bereft but for entwined bands of gold –
contemplative thorns tempt my angst
moony moody barbs bristle twigs of tenderness

sigh— it’s not a laurel wreath worn atop my brow
as I sit alone with a squeamish friend
my blue-sky-to-storm-cloud introspection —
as your distant eyes deserted mine long ago

Winter's beast laid bare a cerebral graveyard
lost you wander amongst laid-to-rest neurons
worn headstones of thoughts and laughter and memories…
you wonder why they hide — why they died

the crackle of cognitive circuitry quiets
branched-lightning fades from unwitting clouds
and aged roots of reality perish

our red rose finished fallen to pieces
you-and-me-petals a messy heap like old potpourri —
yet in dark’s hush love’s scent lingers on our dream pillow

Oh nostalgic sepals embrace me!
my heart yearns to return to the bud
to the fullness of our June bloom —

instead, I bury desires beneath life’s litterfall;
amid pollenless stamens and leaves of one-sided reveries
and cage my fear my despair behind purple thistle facing the light

as I free a smile for you, my love —

you my sun that still parts the rain-bearing nimbus

Premium Member When the Sun Drowns In the Sea

I walked home alone in the dampening mist
as the pastel colored sky blanketed the sun
His rays sank into the sea for their daily tryst
Resting among the waves, his work was done

And now the moon will rise in splendid glory
bringing lovers together in her lustrous light
while the mist hides the tears of my sad story
My heart is broken and my spirit is contrite

My cottage hearth will hold no warming fire
It's to darkness that I'll open my creaking door
No smiling face or welcome words will transpire
Twilight's become the time of day I most abhor

She would run and greet me when I neared home
But no longer do her laughing eyes meet mine
Her eyes now shine where she chose to roam
Bitter on my tongue is the taste of finest wine

Pity is not an emotion in which I choose to wallow
One day when the sun no longer drowns in the sea
perhaps then my wine will be pleasant to swallow
and memories of lost love will no longer torture me

The Message In the Sun

I went to the sun for a favor
and asked it to shine only for you
to grant you happiness though you may be sad
bright yellow 'midst so much blue

but when the day decides to end
and the sun sinks and goes away
I give you the moon as a reminder
that my love will never fade

though i can't tell you how much I love you right now
and I can't show you what's in my heart
i hope when you look at the sun and moon
you'll realize we aren't that far apart

A place in the sun shines for me.

Under the acknowledgement tree.

I don't mean from others.

They are too busy to be bothered.

Only from my experiences in life,

I find them full and ripe!

Only you, really can crown your poem.

Put it in your warm heart~

The poem's true home!

No Need For the Sun

~

I looked for the sun
on the eastern horizon
Waved off the clouds
that now stood in the way

Whispered my thoughts
through the leaves steady falling
Longed for the beauty
of dawn on display

Then like a dream
found the words you had written
Smiled as my day
once again had begun

Wrote a reply in
poetic lines stating
When you are near
there’s no need for the sun

But, what if the sun, too, needs a savior?
Like an eternal gem that beams
upon dreary dawns set upon her,
draining every heavy lampshade
of stars within spheres.
A savior eternal, dawns on heavy stars…

Stayed in the sun too long today.
My skin became like the bark of a tree.
The soul turning to brittle scars
 for uncaring worlds to see.
My face is a pile of old owl bones.
Sewn into banks of midnight creeks.
Even the plump ones no longer look at me...

If their tires were flat, or oil grim reaper black.
they'd manage a water-colored smile...
So long as I could spin the jack...
So, I spin it until their potholes turn to satin.

Stayed in the sun too long today.
The mind has smoothed like pebbles in Saturn's rings.
A forgotten spice in the conversation of life.

Tomorrow I'll stay wrapped inside.
Until my skin turns back to ivory.
To an easter egg yesterday
A time of bouncing ball and spinning jack.
When the mind was a great silky nest.
The face a flowered meadow place.
Where watercolors swirled all day,
the heartworms kept at bay.

I'll stay hidden within the weeds,
till the jewels of memories soothe
every scar - every stripe.
Till the sweetened fruit reclaims the tree.
Until then only my curtains breathe...
       ...stayed in the sun
              to long
                today.

Premium Member A Place In the Sun

A day in the springtime, so balmy and sunny,
A few precious moments with nothing to do
Found me on my lawn, in the sunrays of honey
Which poured from the heavens of delicate blue.

I thought as I sat there of One who is brighter,
Whose rays thrill my heart on the cloudiest day;
And when it is sad, it can only grow lighter
When He fills it up with His love while I pray.

No heart is too hard, neither lost in a darkness
Too deep for the light of the heavenly Sun;
With warm, gentle hands He removes every hardness,
And darkness retreats from the face of God's Son.

I thought as I sat there of how I once drifted
For lack of a compass on waves of the sea;
But now I've a book, and my wandering has shifted
To one single course, where my life is to be.

The skies were once dark as the night without moonlight,
And day on the wings of black stormclouds would run;
But now even night is like shade of the noonlight-
God gave me in mercy a place in the sun.

His goodness and mercy are with me forever,
E'en when thro' the valley of shadows I go;
He comforts my tears, sees my smallest endeavor:
His truth is the one thing forever I'll know.

A place in the sun, it's there I want to run. . .
Orange and yellow palette brush my face,
they dry my wells of fears and so I won,
I-- slowly flower from God's skirt of grace.

Unfailing is His love shown sweet to His face,
I eagerly crave to behold in million tons
as to entwine in His warmth: My Master race.
A place in the sun, it's there I want to run. . .

Rainbow peeping after some raging storm spun;
His reminder that we: His people must chase
infant days to grow better with our love ones.
Orange and yellow palette brush my face

for God so kind. My pains, He soothes and erase.
Tender are His words as I read them one by one
helping me be fearless yet humble with my pace.
They dry my wells of fears and so I won--

then my heart soar high, I have some fun.
Evil always haunts but with Him, all I can evade,
hence, troubles are little but close to none.
I slowly flower from God's skirt of grace. . .

God crashes darkness with love not by gun.
Must we go elsewhere when He is the best hiding place?
God is everything before even life began
God our undefeatable fortress-- His base
a place in the sun.

When the Sun Sets

When the sun sets, The stars shine with no regrets. Darkness fills the air, The moon gives light with every care. The darkness is easier to walk through, Every light shining is so pure and true. Guidence forever are the stars in the sky, With them we find our places lifted so high. Forever is the moon to cast light upon us all, We become encouraged to stand firm and tall. The stars shine with no regrets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, Shining its powerful light it never forgets. Though light fades to darkness, It comes about with alertness. Shadows before the eye can see, The little shining light is enough to set us free. Sometimes we are afraid to walk alone in the dark, From which we were given a caustic remark. Guidance Forever is the changing of dark and light, It helps us to be strong and make one last fight. Forever are the shadows lurking at every turning point, If we give in it is ourselves we disappoint. Shining its powerful light it never forgets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects. All the animals of the sea, Come forth creating a musical harmony. The waves crash upon the shore, Washing up new sand to the ocean floor. Its a beautiful site to see, The ocean sounds are calmingly free. Who's to say the ocean isn't peaceful get away, Its a calming place to relax and stay. The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects, When the sun sets.

The Sun Rises--The Moon Sets

The Sun Rises- -The Moon Sets

Think of life, the cycle of
How radiation can support life, enough heat to
Ensure a stable self sustaining system.

Something like our RA, peasants producing
Under this celestial god. He may be dull at times, but
Never far from active.

Rising to all inhabitants.
Imitated by many, but none can capture
Something so surreal. For many hours
Everything thrives into productivity only to
Soon fade.

Telescoping images of you in the night
How warm is your glow soft blue white
Ever circling the world we call home

Master of revolution, elliptical, precise
Omnipresent, effervescence
Orb of the night, silent in flight
Never failing, glowing light

Shimmering beauty, through magnified eye
Emitting a wondrous, magnificent sight
Torched your surface, by meteor showers
Shine again tomorrow, I'm forever yours

Tomorrow's dawn will start the longest day
When summer takes the torch and starts to run
He'll summon all the children of the sun
His followers that love his warming way

They'll laugh and celebrate in outdoor play
It is the greatest time for water fun
Each claiming to be summer's fav'rite son
Absorbing every ultraviolet ray

And when the sun lies down to take his rest
Their celebrations go in to the night
Cavorting with the moon, who's unimpressed
He knows they only like him 'cause he's bright
They'll fall asleep their backs toward the west
As children of the sun await first light

When the Sun Sets On Me

I wonder where I will be
when the sun sets on me…
for if I were a flake of snow,
a dying breeze, or autumn leaf...
then I’d know.
I am but a blink of a father’s eye
desperate for answers to my words and rhymes
waiting for another world or God to intercede,
in what may come or ever may be.

I wonder where I will be
when the moon rises over me...
for if I were shadows in a cave,
a cricket, star, or ocean wave...
then I'd know.
I am but a drop of rain on a summer night
vaporizing where I fall and touch,
waiting for clouds and sky to again define me;
not knowing who I ever was or aimed to be.

If I am clay in my Maker’s hands…pliable, yielding,
I wonder where my own will comes to end
and where His fingers start forming me
into the masterpiece He desires me to be.
All the answers dancing gracefully,
from omnipotence and my need to be free…

I wonder where I’ll be, when I start to
speak, live, breathe, dance….fearlessly.
If I were air and sea, with all of Heaven shining on me,
then, I’d know…

Premium Member Chasing the Sun

Rushing through each day, as if I had not a care,
head long toward the sun screaming, "catch me if you dare."
Dripping drabs of liquid sunshine burn my deft eye.

While seeking answers to the question, why, why! Why?
Into the sun I run, my skin so hot and dry,
as the dusky penciled pastels of twilight smear.

Through tight clinched lids the sun glares, blind I'll be I fear,
always grasping for truth, but my head just can't clear
my thoughts on the tautly stretched canvas of my mind.

Race and run and fill my lungs, still I fall behind
playing catch with the sun, and all I seem to find,
I'm racing toward the horizon of tomorrow.

Please, one more chance, for a moment I can borrow,
but blithe sun denies me, leaving me in sorrow,
while in the distance the light slowly fades to dark.

Truth or naught, who can say, the end is cold and stark
the meaning is lost in life's fading rainbow arc,
enveloping me in my sadness and despair.

Dripping drabs of liquid sunshine burn my deft eye
as the dusky penciled pastels of twilight smear
my thoughts on the tautly stretched canvas of my mind.
I'm racing toward the horizon of tomorrow
while in the distance the light slowly fades to dark
enveloping me in my sadness and despair.
