Best The Americas Poems

Little Corona

Little Corona
declared one day
"I will be the strongest,
most powerful I say !"

"I shall conquer the world,
and establish my reign.
The world in my hands,
never free again !"

"The fittest shall survive,
as Darwin said.
And all the weaklings,
will sadly be dead"

"Ridden with fever,
cough and cold,
the world will suffer,
the young and the old...."

"My reign will start
where its most populated,
I think its China"
little Corona speculated.

"I will then go on
to the Americas,
the world's most famous,
celebrated landmass."

"And that's not the end"
little Corona went on,
"I will destroy the world,
my reign will go on !"

"I will make sure,
none can escape, NONE !!
Try as hard as they might,
to fight me or run."

"I am the most powerful,
and I am very clever.
I will conquer the world,
You can defeat me NEVER !!"

Or so Corona thought,
being little and immature.
But man is much smarter,
and will certainly find a cure !

Reject the Self-Hatred, Part I

Programmed fools demonize our culture,
try to undermine, demoralize,
say that it’s all ‘white supremacist,’
it’s ‘patriarchal,’ ‘all built on lies.’
Overblow every mistake they find,
project onto us all of their sins,
parasites dependant on a host
that they’re busy killing from within.
Be they our teachers of professors,
or scum media lying out loud,
don’t listen when they preach self-hatred,
for there is much of which to be proud.

They like to blame us for slavery,
tell children it was unique to us,
when the Muslims enslaved twenty times
of what came to the Americas.
They don’t teach that for ten thousand years
it was commonplace to all mankind,
they do not want that much perspective
to ever enter into our minds.
They don’t mention that we helped kill it,
that the west paid in blood for that change,
or that no culture who came before
dared to take on this practice deranged.
They harp on this to guilt good people,
make them cower to the leftist crowd,
there is no need to feel self-hatred,
when there’s so much that should make you proud.

They like to proclaim that we’re ‘racist,’
it’s their favorite way to shut you up,
use your skin tint to assign virtues,
endlessly coming up with such stuff.
But the only racists out there are
the lefties who reduce us to groups,
the rest of us don’t care for this crap,
and are annoyed by people who do.
When we buried Jim Crow long ago,
held up equality under law,
we did all that a country can do,
one standard for all, despite our flaws.
Go ask China about Africans,
or the Muslim world of people dark,
and you’ll understand very quickly
that our attitudes are far apart.
We say that color doesn’t matter,
and that all who try must be allowed,
so when they preach racial self-hatred,
flip them off, you’ve a right to be proud...

CONCLUDES IN PART II.

Cinco De Mayo and the Conquest of Puebla

Cinco De Mayo, the fifth day of May, to all Mexican and Mexican-Americans, is a very special day,

It celebrates the Mexican's Armies, unlikely victory over France, The Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, was Napoleon's grab for Mexican lands,

At the time of this battle, France's Army was considered the World's best, led by Napoleon, it was hell-bent, on achieving World conquest,

An 8,000 strong French Army, marched to Puebla to cause misery, but it was the 4,000 Pueblans, who came out with the victory,

Mexican's celebrate this great triumph, with fiesta and cheers, the French Army had not been defeated, previously, for at least 50 years,

By defeating a much better equipped Army, they were outnumbered by man, steel and horse, They ensured there would never be an attack on a country of the Americas, by any other European military force.

Although there comrades had died, they were hungry and their lips muy seco,
The soldiers cried " Ole! ", as the mariachi sang " Viva Mexico!"

Feliz Cinco De Mayo! Viva Mexico!

Africana

Africana, a poem that details the pre - colonial, colonial and post -colonial Africa, her rich history, struggles and unique cultural heritage in a picturesque execution.

Africa will Rise Up Tall,Bold, and rule the Earth again
But first Africans must be Africans and more, not more and black.
           Mathew R, 2014.
initiator, AFRICANA - the movement ©

AFRICANA (A Poem )

"Our forebears broke kola nuts
And offered prayers
To the benevolent maker,

Whose name varied from one tribe to another.
They lived in peace and harmony."
This was way before
The meek white missionaries
Made landing on our shores.

Africana
They condemned our customs and traditions.
They said our ways were too primitive.
So they burnt down our shrines
And in its stead,
They gave us their three C's.
(Christianity, civilization and commerce)

Africana
These white saviours, in their glowing white robes Baptised our forebears
In the name of the Father, his Son and his Holy Spirit.
Whilst our fore-elders learnt how to pray,
They formed a government,
And on our natural Resources they preyed.

Africana
Albeit their government lynched our forebears.
In the church,
Both the oppressed and their oppressors
Screamed amen.
From two conspicuously separated rows;
The salvation bringers occupied the front seats
The back seats, sanctified for the blacks.
And they said their God was impartial.

Africana
They captured, tortured and shipped
Our forebears to the americas;
To work their cane plantations,
Cotton fields, paddy fields, sugar plants.
The unfortunate ones, thrown overboard
To swim Frank's ocean.

Africana
And many centuries after their first landing.
We, the descendants of former slaves,
Rose from our slumber
And fought for Africa's uhuru.
This freedom many willingly laid down their lives...
And when at last,
We were declared independence,
Our struggle for survival begun.

Godwin Henry Osaigbovo Pa Shakespeare

Totems are formed through a talisman tribal identity.
                         *
Talisman emblems to the tribal identity.
Totem to raise above the distinctiveness of foreign Indians.
Democracy is bureaucracy to their form in the Americas.
Columbus verbalize the inhabitants to be Indians.
Native tribes are the origin of the hills, mountains, flatlands, and prairies.
China brought their prairie dog and pitted him against Mayan’s.
They must think they will crest in the United States of America.
Mayan Tribe resides in Mexico.
Therefore, these immigrants better venture further.

I am not trying to miscommunicate my pillaring.
I am gore from the origin I speak of.
I am not volatile to the carnage of man.
I am (the) only representation of peace in the motherland.

Twenty-twelve and I am fulfilled with empowerment.
Charmed by my own intellect, I am an epitome of women’s health.
Taiwan, Asia has provided me insight
Of the plight that my body manifests.
Physicality did through a technical presence
To demean dignity for blokes.
I am fortified by prophecy foretold.

I hope this is not confounding the mind.
Miscommunication is not a strength of mine.
I aspire to pierce the thoughts to impale or to prevent a loss.
My origin is first and foremost.

Amulet, the synthesis conjecture is that talisman tribal identity forms totem poles.

Goree Island

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Goree Island
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: February/2014

 I see the blood
of my ancestors
that swell
 in the Atlantic ocean
on
Goree Island -

The unmerciful ill winds
that fell
over my people,
in Senegal,
on that
horrific night,
brought the European's,
across the Atlantic,
to our Village -

Everything
in the world
changed forever,
and
will never be forgotten,
when the "unthinkable"
cruel acts
of slavery,
cloaked my people
like
darkness in the night -

White men
dressed in British
formal attire,
brought with them,
 bullwhip's, chains, machetes,
and rifles,
 to capture us.....

 to ENSLAVE us!

We were brutally beaten,
and
taken to
the House of Slaves,
on Goree Island -

The malice intent
of
the British,
intensified our
suffering
at the slave house,
as they
cuffed us to
the walls,
in neck, waist,
and
ankle chains -

Days would pass,
some of us died
from
diseases,
and
starvation,

while waiting
for
the slave ship
to come
from the Americas -

The hideous inhumane
acts
by the British,
sold us
as property,

as we were
auctioned off as
commodity,
to the Americas,
during
the Atlantic Slave Trade

The mournful ness
in our helpless eyes,
spoke of horrendous fear,
as a feeling of distraught,
distress,
and despair,
clothed us
like
death -

We are innocent people
that will never
see our families again
 Our homeland again -

It's unfathomable,
to see black souls in chains,
taking those final usurious
steps towards the "Door Of No
Return,"
in the House Of Slaves,
which left its ugly mark,
on the whole global earth -

Once through
 the  Door Of No Return,
we were sold to the Americas,
and
faced a future of
severe beatings, burnings,
hangings, lynchings,
and
rape -

To this day,
ancient spirits
of
black people,
still scream in rage
 on
Goree Island,

where an untold number
of us were
slaughtered,
and
branded
before walking
through the slave door,
of
an uncertain future -

The ominous clouds
of slavery,
 will
forever cast
a dark shadow,
over the
House Of Slaves,
the Door Of No Return,
and the world -

Goree Island,
in the Atlantic Ocean,
will forever
cry tears of blood,
from the souls of
black people -

Premium Member Dont Ascertain When You Dont Know

Self knowledge equated to the encyclopedia
and perceived facts, products of personal reasoning
the efficacy of thoughts should not be questioned
and assumptions simply made real and absolute

Typical of such a thought stamps on convictions that
the banana and plantain are the same
a superior race surely exist
leg size has a great correlation with the male’s genital
the measure of one’s success is solely factored
in his accumulation of wealth
and money is the root of all evil.

This mindset can walk on hot coal just to prove these points
Columbus was the first European to visit the Americas
bulls are colour blind and bats are completely blind
women are subordinates to men
and a pure heart is one which covers its body from head to toe

This mind can even tear its clothes to rags
in displeasure to your opposition to issues such as
Sydney is Australia’s capital
the earth’s evolution is the cause of day and night
Africa is a country and its inhabitants exchange
morning greetings with the Lion and the Chimpanzee
and Neil Armstrong is the first human to journey into out space

Despite carrying the internet even to the dreams
and having global captions mixed with daily breath
assumptions such as these are nurtured
religiously, with rigidity and military acceptance
the biggest illiterate of the 21st century is one
who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn
so said Alvin Toffler, the Australian Educationist.
Oh sorry! The American futurist

My Family Tree

a thriving ploom in the garden of life
waving in the cool breezes overhanging a cliff
roots embedded in the continent of Africa
branching into Europe, Asia and the Americas

through misguided uncompromising fallacies
some of my branches have lost their leaves in the canopies
my beautiful human fruit have become so rotten
to show any taste of love between themselves forbidden
consequently they’ve become shrivelled and dry
self condemned to die...why?

I’ve been through many-a-forest fires
that have wiped out entire species when times were dire
perhaps I’ve grown too tall for my own branches
because war prunes them into their own dark dug trenches

so as my tops suffocate
in the thinned poisoned undercurrent
collapsing under political instability and overpopulation
disease and lack of absolution
my own weight supported
I’m cultivated
for industry
but oddly enough not forestry
watered by oil
then set alight to boil

to bear evil seeds
by artificial means like weeds
exposure from too much sun
a mutilated son
capable of matricide to shovel
my severed lifecycle

my soul died a thousand years ago
I now only exist in the soil of man’s ego
as he climbs higher
I freeze in the winter
my shade is nothing if not colder
each day he becomes defiant and bolder

black or white
wrong or right
day or night
dim or bright
dark or light
to the lumberjack
><
we’re one trunk

The Big Easy

The Big Easy

Brash lady of the south, home of jazz and blues,
party town USA, brawling port of the nation,
melting pot of cultures, the city of Hope,
and Queen of the Nile of the Americas....

.....She's the Big Easy..

Yes, I know there is Bourbon Street where you rub shoulders with pimps,
prostitutes, drunks and movie queens,
And, you stand shoulder to shoulder and jostled and fight for the cheap beads
thrown from a Mardi Gras float,
Walk the narrow, crowded streets and listen to the mournful moan of the blues, and
the rhythm of jazz being discovered as it drifts through the narrow alley ways,
Feel the sweat and the clamor of the docks, with the exports
of the nation being loaded on the mammoth
ships for all the world.
Sip the strong coffee and wash down the beignets, savor the dripping poboys and
famous oysters Rockefeller, and smell the aromas of the seafood preparer of the
nation.

She is the queen city of the Nile of the Americas - the
mighty Missisip'

- don't apologize for her being
a lady of the streets,
the birth place of jazz
the queen city of the mighty river of the nation
good food,
fun time
fast people....

She's the city that never sleeps,
The play town and work place of the nation,
....A lady like no other lady.....

.....She's the Big Easy.

Trump Drum of Triumph

The drum is sounding
From Queens in New York
Stretching to the horns of America
And the horns of Africa
Hear them applause
They call it the Trump drum of triumph
I sat on my chair of reeds
And looked towards north America
O, Horns of America!
Send your messengers across the pacific and be specific
Send waves of excitement for the Republican
U.S President elect---who entranced the long serving mother
The mother of United States who has done enough for the U.S
To stand on HER feet
Tell the world what a drum it is
Should it be a drum of war!
The trump drum of triumph
Is offbeat

Those are tourists at Las Vegas
Watching the Trump towers
Fathoming the towers would reform into a gold mine
A precious gold mine to America and the world
The Americas and the world at large in awe
But agape with an intriguing question
Will the Trump drum of triumph not sell America to the world?
Either, will it not sell the world to America?
Now that Trump needn’t a salary?
Does he have a business plan in his palace behind his unproved humility?
America wonders---the world looks on---hat trick or not!
Let the white house and the black house both keenly watch
The start of this political game
Should he meddle in his belly and ignore America and the world?
The Trump drum of triumph
Is offbeat

What is his say on gay-ism and lesbianism?
Where Barrack Obama was offbeat-ism
The practice that is against God-ism
Which spoils ten thousand American children daily-ism
A man kissing a man-ism
A woman kissing a woman-ism
Abominable act in the world traditional society-ism
How about Illuminati, the god worshipers that are barriers between God and mankind-ism?
Consult Trump’s priest-ism
To burn down all the shrines of Baphomet in Americas-ism
And the National church of bey where our men become unproductive-ism
By sacrificing their manhood-ism
They become infertile for life-ism
Heal the world again dear Trump-ism
Make my county South Sudan a country again-ism
And refrain from God’s wrath-ism
Only then will the Trump drum of triumph-ism
Not be offbeat-ism

Premium Member Middle-Belt Star In the Americas

A stop route of west African slave trade
passing through gradual conversion from an escape center
to a beautiful republic cemented in the ninety-sixties,
to pride as the first nation in the middle of the Americas
and to become an independent political and economic entity.

The first among the ‘warm-climated’ group
to participate in the ‘cold climated’ games.
It has grown wings to have so much political will
and becoming humanity’s chief servant in fighting for the globally marginalized.
So greatly influenced by the Afro-Caribbean spiritual salt,
giving value to the philosophy of international morality.

Beauty at its peak is flaunted through the Blue Mountains,
unfortunately in a land weak in the resistance
of nature’s dangerous waves of theft and anger.
Home to eight non-venomous snakes and great crimes;
obeahism lingering as the corridor to the inner mind;
are mixed segments of a growing star in the Caribbean
which is also the best place to see wild flora and fauna.

College

Do you ever think about why you came to college?
to meet some new people? maybe gain some knowledge?
or out of obligation and potentially some homage?
Look, I'm not trying to bash everything about school
It's just not what it could be, it's more of a societal stepping stool,
paying for school to get a job to pay for school, seems cruel
you see, so many of my classes are just memorization and regurgitation
when they should be focused primarily on edification,
everyone's scared to talk in class, products of elementary indoctrination,
example, columbus discovered the americas? that's just falsification,
diluting people's inherent abilities and creativity,
in exchange for robots in suits, cubicles, aka captivity,
in today's world we've mistaken busy for productivity,
think back to when you were a kid, get in touch with your propensities,
you can be anything you want to, theres the secret to happiness and longevity!

Let Us Go Home Now, Jesus

Family ought to be high in Church and State, a place for practising His way
Forgiveness is hardest at home, as in sharing religion, or charity there ...
Let us go Home now Jesus: this world holds nothing holy, or treasured, today.

The evil thoughts, ponera, they come whilst I am dreaming away
Of a white Christmas, a really white Christmas in the Americas ...
Family ought to be high in Church and State, a place for practising His way

"Your older brother stole your land and home. Don't let him get away"
One sister took your book and coin collection, while you were in the Americas!
Let us go Home now Jesus, this world holds nothing holy, or treasured, today.

The devil is ever busy, and he is a lawyer, too, pressing charges all the way
Against my siblings. They are wrong, but I must forgive say the Gospel writers
Family ought to be high in Church and State, a place for practising His way

So when my beautiful sleep is assailed by Satan, so near Christmas Day
I cling to Jesus and His teachings: "Forgive because ye are ALL sinners!"
Let us go Home now Jesus, this world holds nothing holy, or treasured, today.

All we endure here has to teach us that nothing here will endure or stay
Siblings colonize, brutalize, and lie as if I'm a virgin land in the Americas
Family ought to be high in Church and State, a place for practising His way
Let us go Home now Jesus, this world holds nothing holy, or treasured, today.

Understanding Our Past, Living Today, Creating Our Future

Only when lions have historians
will hunters cease being heroes
we are one nation, one family, indivisible
for us, divorce or separation are not options

Though Blacks first stepped foot in the Americas, in 1518
"racial barriers broken" time passes, but love endures
racial rifts, "tearing at the heart of America"
"clean your house of racism", "America"

racism is a sickness, that may never go away
there's no color in love
the ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won
the port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting

Afro American history; the record of a race
of indomitable people surviving the diaspora
where do we go from here!
we move united into the future
