Gratitude For Recent Food

Year fourteen ninety two Upon Atlantic’s traverse Europeans discovered food On the other side of Earth: Including avocados, Amaizing corn and peppers, And roots of sweet potatoes, Which delighted early settlers. Who shipped out jalapeños To Europe, then to yonder Followed by potatoes On a march to conquer hunger. Tomatoes, great for sauces, The pineapple sweet-marvel, And green-bean pods, and squashes, Surprisingly, were novel. Flavor-fave vanilla, Pretty strawberry gems, Plus chocolate, all-time thriller From America, do stem. And peanuts, two per pod And cashews, and neat pecans… Let’s give thanks to G-d For the foods from the new land!

Yes, it's possible the nightshades are not good for my arthritis. I think it depends on the person. DARK chocolate is so good for us!

Hannah, my fellow FOODIE. I too have written poems like this going on and on about certain ones I love! This was informative and well written. Love your wit and humor! So sad that a lot of these foods are the worst ones for weight gain.

More info.: Paradoxically, Dr. Gundry, a nutrition "trailblazer", rails against 'nightshade' foods -- tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and eggplant; and HAILS chocolate. (Against all wholegrains, too). Thanks for your compliment!
