Best Teasers Poems

Premium Member Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions please us deeper than just words-
though teasers talk up promises so made
with words that sound like songs of pretty birds;
the music's sweet, but sours when pledges fade.

Words flow smoothly, soothing heart and mind
with hopeful thoughts that all too soon escape.
These words that tease are truly not inclined
to fill those hopes that never will take shape.

Actions do please deeper- words just tease
to simply stoke a fire that's never lit.
Just empty words for vows that float away-
from shallow talkers who will not commit.

So disappointed when words stand alone-
that only tease with promises not met-
to then accept the letdown we bemoan
by sham neglect- the sad result we get.

Contest: Motto Matters
Sponsor: Natasha L Scragg
---------------------------------------------------
Note:
The origin of this phrase in its earliest known
appearance (with the exact wording it has today)
is in a work called the Melancholy State of Province,
1736: “Actions speak louder than words and are
more to be regarded.”
However, the idea of this phrase goes back even
further. For example, Michel de Montaigne, who
lived during the 1500s, expressed the following
in one of the essays he wrote:
“Saying is a different thing from doing.”

Premium Member Win- Lose Or Place--Colloquialisms

Writing for contests, is often a crapshoot!
Some may be teasers, and others no brainers.
Results often open a new can of worms,
though sponsors with backbones, will stick to their guns!
Plagued by the screams of dissatisfied rhymers
whose dreams of a win may have gone up in smoke!
But a poet's class act, is to take it in stride.
Don't be hung up, keep your eye on prize !

Wearing war-paint is a taint on the pride
Don't have a fit, ... be quick to decide
Stoked by the turn-on of writing excitement
We are caught in the cross-hairs of P. S. enchantment !!
Write with a zest that will stick to the ribs
Write for yourself, and find joy in the race
There is no disgrace if you handle with grace
Hold up your head, whether win, lose or place!

Medicinal Champagne Mc

See we know about traditional old skool
gangster new school and mumble
well I’m the additional
mister medicinal
brain cells missing
brain fail consistent
I’ll stand here and diss you all
don’t get me fishing fool
I didn’t grow up on a council estate
an idiot losing count of mistakes
with fists thrown in hate at mates
that hip girate away lay my babe no lady
lately grating cheese placed in the freezer
I don't know that meaning either.
I tell big munters I ain’t really a geezer
and joke I once choked on a Malteser.
no Jesus please unless it’s Christmas or Easter.
I'm not gona eat a pineapple pizza a meat I'll eat easier
but picking pineapple pieces placed is waste unpleasing
each to their own as their own they teach
from fresh green grass to sweaty as on the beach
dream out of reach move over move closer seek
gangstas can be geeks
aint set change step reset no fret repeat geeze
no teasers hair pulled by tweezers
uprooted remove streets find uses
but choose the choice you've got used to commit
convict and glue stick useless urban true
as for me always me and only me how I be
cus I'm happy as different unique and genuine
crown me king as I separate from the crowd
I'm proud I'm me un-scouted lout, nah not now ,
what's that about, when talent drought no go
Medicinal Champagne am I bow bow
that’s the MC I please needs
it ain’t musical it’s a free read

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Ah, Poetry

I dabble poetic in occasional rhyme
but remain obtuse and dull witted in haiku,
prone to my mistakes in cadence and lyrical crimes.
I fight iambic pentameter
and laugh at doggerels and limericks,
steering clear of epics and fixed formed teeter teasers.
Perhaps burlesque or lampoons should be my write
as I pen the words and phrases of heroic couplet
or narrative ballad best record of the knight.
Didactic, elegies, dirge and epigrams are a gain
still, I take a chance at each form to myself teach
but free verse flows readily and easily in my veins.
Alas, I write and take a whirling spin
at reading, writing poetry and poems each day
imagining the ah ha of poetry to begin.

The Infatuation

Tall, with long legs, a straight back, and long neck,
Hair falling over both of her shoulders,
Emerald eyes, as attention holders,
Instantly able to put you in check!
Nicely shaped lips, that would welcome a peck,
Forcing your arms to react like folders
And open completely, just to hold her,
Taking a feel of it just for the heck.
Unique is the word that describes her smile,
Aligned with teeth perfectly in a row;
Teasers and pleasers that define her style,
In a way that allows her face to glow.
On most days, I stare at her for a while,
Never In a way that would let her know.

Diner Pour Deaux Moi et Toi
(Dinner For Two Me and You)

I've laid a quilt on this stretch of beach,
the place where our romance had its start.
Where one night, I took your offered hand
The night I gave you my hand and heart.

Soft light from candles in lanterns on the ground.
Two glasses for the aperitif I'm about to pour.
We sip and gaze into each other's hungry eyes.
As rhythmic sounds of waves crash on the shore.

I've set the stage with the intent of seduction.
Let's start our late night feast with finger food.
Grapes I've peeled, and brie, our appe(teasers).
Sparkling white wine should add to the mood.

We'll share a cold crisp cucumber salad
With a light dressing made with mint.
I've kept it chilled just the way you like
In the hope you're getting the hint.

I've delicious little roast beef sandwiches
To place upon your tongue with my fingers
There's no need to hurry, my darling.
Love and dinner will be sweeter if we linger.

Is there room for my French apple pie,
topped with globs of cold whipped cream?
From the look I see in your green eyes,
You've caught on to my romantic scheme.

Let's take a walk behind the moonlit dunes
I've the notion we're ready for a little flirt
We won't be taking home the leftovers.
We'll have each other as tonight's dessert.

Wipe Our Tears

I found myself
in a prison
Detained by others
My talks hindered by teasers
My life threatened by murderers
My skin hates sunlight
But I use to bask myself in it
For protection
Oh!!! I cant go to the forest
Where I can comfort my skin
Am afraid to be murdered with somebody's keen
I also love recreation
But I cant go to to recreate myself
Am afraid of a certain human wolf
Eyes staring at my home
Stuck to it like glue on a thing
They wish to catch me
I don't have a permanent home for safety
By then, how many rights have you violated to me?
Our bodies have become mines
Where our bones are minerals
All because of brutality

Things they always forget
God created us as one
We all inhale Oxygen
And Exhale Carbon Dioxide
We are all eligible to develop the nation
They dont know I can serve the world from its ruins
If our rights are protected
Is lacking melanin an issue???
But why??? but why???God created everyone with a purpose
When you are killing us
You are killing our purposes
You are troubling our souls
You are killing leaders

As a humane family
We breathe the same air
We are just nothing else
Than brothers and sisters
A heart has no color
No sex or the like
We are just a mixed branch
Nobody is Prototype
Whose characteristics are valid for everybody
Each one is unique
Each one is precious
Each one is needed
And healing never works with dark energy
Healing works by love
This is what all should do; love each other.

Sucking My Life Away

Sucking My Life Away

When you say untrue things about me

You never attempt to see

The hurt in my eyes

Or hear my cries.

Because by your words you cut my progress

Take away my enthusiasm for success.

Your taunts and insults invade my spirit

Making it spiral into a bottomless pit

Your meaness and your anger

Put my soul in danger

I try to survive

Not forever being able to hide

Fighting you with fists or ignorance

Doesn’t give me a better stance

Because you keep coming back harder and harder

Making the crowd against me larger and larger.

Until my life is sucked away

You make it unbearable for me to stay

It’s get harder day by day

I’ve tried and I’ve cried out.

In the principals office I even shout

That I can’t bare any more

Today they pushed me out the door

In my mind I’ve seen peace on the other side

Where I don’t have to hide

From the criticizers and teasers

And the bullying crowd pleasers

I cry out in dismay

From the sorted and ruthless way

You’ve sucked my life away

I’m crying and pleading to you

To stop but you don’t have a clue

That I silently disappear

Inch by inch the more you’re near

I know I should be strong

But tell me how long

Can my mind and body fend you off

You stick to me like a bad cough

No where is safe, not even home

What do I have to do to make you leave me a lone

Now it’s too late I’m just a shadow of gray

Because you’ve finally sucked my life away.

TAURUS,THAT'S US TAUREANS!
TENDERLY LOVING,
TERRIFIC companions,
TRUE FRIENDS: so loyal,
great TEASERS TOO.

AFFECTIONATE towards others,
AMAZINGLY caring and loving ,
AMOROUS:great lovers
that's true,
ALWAYS helpful,
kind hearted to you.

UNCONDITIONED:they do all to please
anyone, even go out of their way,
but never condition a TAURUS,
they definitely do it their way.

ROMANTIC: best describes us,
RURAL: nature lovers for sure,
we're earthy people,
love life and much more.
RELIABLE too,
RESENTFUL hard to be,
but possesivity comes naturally.

UNIQUE,in our ideas,
but ready to learn all.
UNPREDICTABLE,so stay alert
to know us more.

SENTIMENTAL and SWEET,is our identity!
STUBBORN and STRONG HEADED is our motto,
we're very lucky people,
even if we never win the lotto.

TAURUS:the sign of the bull!
The bull in the arena so weak,
yet so strong till the end.

When a Teen Disobeys

When a teen disobeys,
innocence becomes insolance,
but malice is caused by exernal influence;
banners with explicit sexual indulgence,
conversations with obscene words
and gestures that can offend passerbys.

There are signs that can detect
any danger, watch the sexy way they dress:
tight clothing and that glamorous look
so irrisistable and provoking; and it
may not go unnoticed, and some teasers
even approve of it...adding to their lustful taste.

Even before modern times left their indecent mark,
these teens had a plan to run from home,
hop on train or bus and head for the big cities;
and on those thriving sidewalks, the predators
wait and they know how despair can turn into need,
an urgent need to survive...to eat and sleep.

Beautiful children, why do you constantly disobey,
and refuse to listen to your parents and elders,
who were raised in kindness, respect and dignity?
Innocent children, before that delusional fantasy
steals away more irreplaceable dreams...ask yourselves:
shouldn't a dream, such as yours, be trashed?

Unpack your back-packs and stay in a wam environment,
before silly thoughts become your biggest fear
and you will follow them to their destructive end...
not ever feeling any absence of the parental heart,
where there is a happy home you don't consider
the greatest place to nurture love with loving cheer.

When a teen disobeys,
love loses its profound defination...
as its pure essence is taken away by the rampant indignation
of an embittered truant: cursing, mocking justice,
stealing to feed bad habits, and in doing so they allow grief
to overcome joy, and replace it with a tragic death.

Aficionado

Aficionados here and there,
People craft, lead and build.

Those traders are teasers of the wind,
Sail and sail, draft and rate,
Be your own rafter till you lead the machines.

Magician of genius,
Roundtables of roundabouts,
Wheel and chain wheel every unshielded process,

Superhuman intellectuals fragmenting puzzles of equations,

Build this new cybernetics!
Nemesis are the rivals of each creationists.

Mechanics are our homepage.

Premium Member To Thine Own Self Be True

“ Care about what other people think, and you will always be their prisoner.”

                           ~Philosopher, Lao Tzu~

So dying to be adored!
Empty as dried out lakes.

Oh, how tragic to behold,
The old, being just fakes.

We, especially who have
trouble seeing or hearing.

Do simply not understand,
At the young, stop your jeering!

Take inventory of our time left.
Knock off telling the old to follow.

Cheapness is our great sorrow.
Hiding well what we have learned.

Flashing our bold sheepskins?
They all should be burned!

Have we learned nothing at all?
Deaf ones, prideful, should be scorned.

Younger poets we treat with derision.
As is we were gods, with some royal
circumcision?

No, no. do not ape the crowds.
Sing your song fearlessly, sing it loud.

Never be cheap, a crowd pleaser.
You, afraid to speak truth?
Nothing but life’s greatest teasers!

Deprived

Pacing, searching, panicking;
can't find what I'm missing.
I'm about to lose it.
Been in this rat race
for way too long.
Don't know which way to go.
Spinning in squares, triangles, figure eights,
anything that doesn't makes sense.
Now I'm sick gonna throw up,
no remedy for me.
Just teasers of happiness
that are not for me.
A bystander observer
not allowed to have it for myself.
