Best Take To Be Poems
A lifetime of security you will find in him,
But a good man is hard to find.
He's always there even though the light is dim,
But a good man is hard to find.
He's a full time lover,
But a good man is hard to find.
His shoulder is there to cry on like a mother,
But a good man is hard to find.
He listens to your every whim,
But good man is hard to find.
Yet no one is more trustworthy than him.
Still you say a good man is hard to find.
He may even be the most forgiving,
But yet good man is hard to find.
He knows you even from the beggining,
But a good man is hard to find.
What does it take to be a good man?
Because I know someone who is trustworthy,
Yet trusting of you more than anyone else.
But have you talked to him lately?
For he is the security you need greatly.
For unto him you can do no wrong without him still loving you.
So before you say a good man is hard to find pick up your bible and call on him.
What does it take, to be so kind,
to every fault and flaw, be blind
a goodly word, always to find
and wounded heart with love to bind?
Ask Richard!
What does it to take, to give a smile
To stop and chat and hug a while
and kind words on a heart to pile
to make encouragement, a style
Ask Richard!
What does it take to be real sweet
With words of life and light to greet
To leave behind a tasty treat
of loving words, it's not a feat
Ask Richard!
For Richard does it all so well
His kindness works a magic spell
If you want truth, it's truth he'll tell
He'll help the storms of life to quell
That's Richard.
Yes, oh yes, that's Richard!

This poem was inspired by Richard Lamoureux's comment on my poem, Don't Belittle Me:
I would never! I only wish to build you up. I enjoy being in the company of Royalty.
”Oh hermit, our eye cannot be single ~
unless polarities within mingle”
~ quote by poet
Narrow is our perception,
leading to misconception,
which if we take to be true,
makes delusional our view.
Sensory inputs and mind
an inexorable bind,
yet within the gap, the pause,
we may escape from its jaws.
Polarity interchange
frees our soul's cognition range,
by abiding in silence,
resting thought form violence.
Sans thought, awareness heightens
because load on heart lightens
but most take this as fiction,
due to thinking addiction.
To transcend mind, we rest thought,
whence no longer by fears fraught,
we see ourselves as we are,
luminous like yonder star.
What silence ushers is this:
we imbibe love, light and bliss,
which radiates within form,
propelled by magnetism warm.
Obtaining spherical sight,
entwined with bliss beat delight,
as we slowly come undone,
we see God and soul are one.
Looking back, we now can see,
that whence free from our mind tree
and on adding love to cart,
we sense God within each heart.
A REAL HERO?
By: Synthia Miner
What does it take to be a hero?
Being a single mother, keeping a family strong.
or a single father, helping his daughter along.
Maybe a soldier leaving his newly pregnant wife.
or making the ultimate sacrifice, to save only one life?
What makes a real hero?
Knowing how to stop a drug lab or a bomb.
or having the power to save a child gone wrong.
Is it being able to help the hungry,
or saving everything that’s been lonely.
How do we define a hero?
Every way you look at it, people can say,
heroes come naturally…. in a way,
But; when you dig down deep,
I see only one answer
A real hero must have the will to live;
whether for him or her self,
or everything and everyone one around them.
Heroes have the courage to stand up for what they believe in.
From this I say, that my Uncle Jason Mullholand is a real hero.
He has fought for his life, not just to be alive,
but for raising his family.
So you see, heroes are hear everyday.
It’s the soldier fighting for peace,
and the mother battling cancer.
And the kids you ignore hunting for food,
Just to feed their always hungry siblings.
A real hero values the life of everyone,
and charges with the courage of love.
To every hero out there
Please keep up the fight for life!
I wonder how long it will take to be great.
I wonder will my people ever be safe.
I wonder what happens to the boy who prays every day.
I wonder what happens to the man who takes people life away.
**** I even wonder about the circumstance I’m in,
I use to get in trouble wondering if neighbors were going to turn me in.
Stomach still rumbling, wondering if this change gone save me again.
I wonder if you really know the struggles of brave men.
Nothing can contain you, but the man said a cage can at the station sho’ damn can,
I wonder who is going to save him.
They say “don’t wonder.. think like this,
You shouldn't have a mind of your own think like this ".
And we shake our heads no but we take one sip.
You said you was walking in sin just until you bought one crib.
I wonder if the bible had a urban version would people read it.
I wonder if the pastors of churches end service early just to speak to Jesus.
Or did service end early for different reasons.
I wonder if the pastor getting a new car since it’s a different season.
I wonder why people so scared to talk.
I wonder how many black people called MLK before the million man march like "I’m scared to walk".
I wonder how many people aint scared at all
I wonder if you know the reason why you didn't make it to the top is because you scared to fall.
I wonder why people don't chase their dreams, they just walk with reality.
I wonder why people always stuck on their iPod but scream to our god when it’s a tragedy.
I know you would probably laugh at me, but understand this not even half of me
God walks with me you can sense his presence but can’t grab his feet.
I wonder how many human beings think rationally.
I wonder how many people never prayed to their majesty and wonder why they not living happily.
I wonder will our generation ever rise above and say look who I become.
But I aint dumb, we can say the war is over but they turn around and put their silencers on their guns.
It’s so confusing, it’s hard being black, educated, and separated from the roads everybody choosing.
I wonder if I can ever stop wondering, the bus back home is coming in, and I’m fumbling thinking how I can make us one again....
When Cries and quite prayers fills the air
As things go wrong, as they usually do
When life starts to hurt as seconds fly away
And the Paths you plodding seems all-uphill
When Love is lost and hate is found,
And nothing goes right and all goes down
When People change as seasons in the year
And you look for a friend but all are gone
When you search for happiness and find none
And you need to cry but you have to smile
When Life pushes us to the edge with its twists and turns
We close our eyes try to stop the burns
We try to float away
Leaving all this chaos and confusion behind
Wondering how long it will take to be free from these chains
Floating through it all
My soul sees
What Eyes can't see
Take a break if you need but never do quit
A golden crown might be an inch away
Even if your eyes cant see it
You got to believe
You never can tell how close you are
Trust in yourself and Let faith lead your way
Grasp your dreams and never let go
Don't give up even if the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow
I promise you the goal is closer than it seems
Don’t be the struggler who has given up
Be the survivor who has captured the winner’s cup.
Thoughts of doubt might consume your mind
But keep in mind failure is just steps to success
Keep your head up with your armor and sword
And get in the battle in its hardest blow
Even when you feel weak, you must be strong
Believe in time
Believe in yourself
Those two can change the universe
Happiness
By Franklin Price

inspired by June Baker
Happiness how to define
Is your happiness the same as mine
Having things for which hell bent
Or is it just to be content
Keeping up with Alias Jones
Expensive cars and camera phones
Yachts and mansions first class cruisers
If you don't have them are you losers
Do you eat and have your fill
Not be in doubt of your next meal
When it rains be dry inside
Make enough to stem the tide
Wealth is not about the cash
To have it all a frantic dash
To strive for things that mean so little
Above contentment all's a piddle
What does it take to be content
Find happiness at least a glint
Dwell on the basics and you will find
Happiness and peace of mind
Self is first of all the most
To love yourself but not to boast
Then treat all others as if were you
Contentment comes as if on cue
what does it take to be free now?
I asked god and he showed me how
he gave me a book
and told me to look
so only to him will i bow
Father Christ Jesus listeners often got swept by His charismatic manner
Blurted their intention to follow Him
That does not mean they were ready to be true disciples of Father Christ Jesus
In this Gospel story
A man wanted to follow Father Christ but was deflated (let down) when Father Christ pointed out that He had no home
His followers would have none of the things considered necessary for a happy life
Following Jesus or Father Christ wouldn’t always be comfortable and that thought turned many away
For the second man in the story
The timing wasn’t right
He wanted to fulfill his duty to his dying father before setting out with Father Christ Jesus sets the agenda
Our duty is to obey Father Christ Jesus knew that looking back while plowing can ruin the job
He used that example to help the third man that we need to have a singleness of purpose to His disciple
We still have to make sacrifices to follow Father Christ Jesus
But He promises that the rewards will be worth much more
What does it mean to be a real man?
Pulling out chairs,
Opening doors,
Paying for the meal?
No. It's much much more than that.
What does it mean to be a real man?
Holding her when she cries,
Answering your phone at three a.m.
Being faithful?
Yes. But much more than this as well.
What does it take to be a real man?
Defending her honor?
Putting yourself between her and the danger?
Loving her no matter what?
Yes. But more than all this.
Being a man, means all this.
But, it also mean that when you do all this for her,
You do it because you love HER.
Not what she keeps hidden with thread.
A real man does these things
Because that's what men do.
Well, that's what Real Men do.
Cowards, not terrorists, Call them what they are
Not Martyrs, killers of babies, children both near and far
Cowards, not terrorists, Call them what they are
How much courage does it take to mow down people with cars and trucks
How much courage does it take to be armed with all kinds of ammunition
like a sniper and shoot down cops like sitting ducks
How much courage does it take to shoot unsuspecting people in a show or school
To kill and brutalize with a heart of hate
To fly into buildings, blow up people having fun running in races is beyond cruel
Oh you say, it is for what I believe in, I have courage to take my own life
Or they deserve it, they hurt me, I am angry
They will pay with a gun, bomb, or knife
Cowards that is what terrorists are
Even an old woman could drive a truck through a crowd of people, shoot cops
Plant bombs in crowds and kill people near and far
Some say, my God wants to rid the world of infidels and heathens, then what is left
What is left? People like you who kill children who don't understand
Don't even know their place in the world yet
Cowards, not terrorists, not Martyrs
Cowards willing to kill babies, children, mothers and fathers
Cowards let us call them what they are
Cowards
I'm nothing special, just plain old me
Ancestors from my past came down from the tree
We scratched our knuckles and found that hurt
Scraping our skin through our neighbourhood dirt
As wise as I was at that young age
My skin bleeding, something needed to change
The fruit above caught my eye
As I unarched my back it made me sigh
Why had dad, not thought of this before
Than knuckling dirt on our neighbourhood floor
As I looked around and viewed our troop
They were all like me, not one did stoop
Is it a corner we've turned, and is it for the best
This standing up, the evolution test
For through the years we transformed and formed
Into a standing ape like human form
Was this a path for us to take
Or a misleading path and it's all a mistake
It's millions of years, later now
Why have we become what we are now
Our treatment of us, is oh so sad
What made us, turn out so bad
What will it take to be so sure
Maybe taking that stance on our neighbourhood floor
And why do I say what you read above
It's mans inhumanity to man, it sure ain't love
So what do we do to iron this out
I'm no Stephen Hawking's, but please give me a shout!
It's best to discuss this sitting under a tree
As we look up above, where we used to be
For Constance's ' A Rambling Poet~ contest 'Why oh Why?'
This was written in Nov 08 by James Fraser.
It is my second poem and it was posted on June 12th 2009, and it received two comments.
It takes life to live life,
Fresh air to breathe;
Sunlight to have energy,
And a power to create.
It takes war to win freedom,
Courage to be a hero;
Pain to be a poet,
And two to tango.
It takes humility to say sorry,
Forgiveness to forget;
Meekness to make apology,
And mistake to show regret.
It takes a long hard road
To go the extra mile;
And a cheerful moment,
To make someone smile.
It takes smile to stay young,
Speed to beat the clock;
So much love to have time,
And shepherd to feed the flock.
It takes prayer to realize a dream,
To be perfect, more practice;
Self-discipline to improve,
And time to gain success.
It takes work to prove faith,
Truth to set man free;
Proof to accept the truth,
And heart to be holy.
It takes trial to be strong,
Faith to move mountain;
Blood for man to be redeemed,
And hope to reside in heaven.
Endless things so it seems,
For everyone to learn and see;
In a perfect world of glory,
What does it take to be?
Wearing Great Smelling Deodorant
From Trump each and every word
We heard from him was totally absurd
After hearing him came to conclusion
Was optical illusion in mental institution.
With what he wore would try to impress
And also occasionally he tried to abscess
Worldly woman he wanted to have been
But in female bathroom didn't let him in.
What did it take to be an Olympic winner
On Wheaties box by name of Bruce Jenner
Who was playing a role about his anonymity
Wanting to be Jane who was a cute calamity.
I did determined that things may not differ
When I was being a good wiffer of her
Made no difference where he or she went
Were distinguished by desirable deodorant.

Apollo,
God of prophecy, music and eloquence
Had advised Man two things he had to do
In order the truth of things to discover
And as a result to see the world anew:
"Know Thyself" and " Nothing in Excess"
The son of Zeus emphatically declared
In that way the path to wisdom you find
Thus better for you it is to be prepared
Stop trying to locate your God far away
High up a mountain or on the floor of the sea
For God in the depths of your soul is found
Waiting for you one day to be able Him to see
Close your eyes, your ears, your nose, your mouth
Hold back your hands and touch things no more
Remain thus immobile and in absolute silence
If you ever wish to perceive, eternity's divine door
Take notice of what to you Man I, Apollo, say
Make certain every step you take to be the right one
Avoid excess or deficiency in all that you are doing
Keep your soul in balance, for to see how all is done!*

* My poem has nothing to do with religious believes whatsoever.
It is just a poem that focuses on the knowledge of the self which was
a main theme in the ancient Greek philosophy that had understood
that the door to knowledge was found within us, in our soul! So please,
do not connect my poem with the HOLY Bible. It is just history. When someone writes on dragons does he worship dragons?
