Moments of meditative serenity
Crimping pleating floral white hybrid washi

Shaping and triangulating dainty folds
Stringing vertex wings of freedom symmetry

Garland of classic crane origami
Wishing long happy peaceful life

Premium Member You Are My Symbol

My symbol of a feral love you are
A molten searing flame that burns from far
The emblem of the best of bravery
A sign of strength and honored chivalry

You are the turbulence of passion's wave
The gallant knight on steed who’s come to save
You are the strength in love’s mad hurricane
The tumult of obsession gone insane

You are the conqueror; you are the king
Ferocious love embodied, you’re the dream
You are the pounding might of pouring rain
The joy that comes with dawn of midnight pain

You are the flaring sun that rules the sky
The heat that flames the heart and sears the thigh
You are the brightest star in midnight ink
The tantalizing taste of tempter’s drink

You are Enchantress' Son, come out to play
Caressing every curve, you have your way
You are the morning dew on thirsty lips
The silk of scented oil that clings to hips

You are the fantasy of every dream
The current running deep in flowing stream
You are desire's form on whom to cleave
The intercourse of real and make believe

You are the heat of love, personified
The lustful needs of passion, gratified
You are a wish, a hope for better things
The joy of life and love, its angel wings

The Symbol of Love

Two becoming one.

with hearts of purity

Grafted together.

With your stem of Beauty

Together producing new buds

Deeply rooted

Intertwining with Love

Thorny days with rain

Sadness when petals fall

Yet, the sun will always shine

As our love grows together

Entwined forever.

Premium Member The Infinity Symbol

The enterprise was doomed to irrevocable failure.
He looked at the board and re-examined his formulas.
The astral entities were too complicated for the earthly mind.
The fear of failure did not dampen his complicated theories.
Could it be that some abstract integral was escaping his perception?
The blemish of his calculations was just before his visage.
His aide looked on like a sentry never opening his mouth.
Then he noticed he had inserted the infinity symbol.
Where for Pete’s sake did that come from?
If he entered the machine and pulled the lever
What would be the result? The word leapt into his head.
It would be pernicious conclusion. So he desisted.
No man could traverse time to an earlier time.

Premium Member Inukshuk- Symbol of the Canadian North

They stand tall like a monument, the wayfarer’s journey guide
Rough stones shaped into human form, the meaning to unhide,
Inuits first carefully piled these stones, the meaning becomes clear,
Traditionally “you are on the right path” or “someone was here”.

These unworked stones were used for survival and a method to communicate,
Mountain passages or an open channel, the stone placement was your fate.
A cache of food was near an Inukshuk without arms or one with anthers attached,
For the lost hunter in the Arctic, their beckoning and comfort was unmatched.

These rocks are used for navigation, the right direction to select,
They can also signify a memorial, a quiet place of respect,
Or mark where the spirits abide or where the fish can be found,
Think- the amount of information provided, without uttering a sound.

Winter 2010, in Vancouver, it became the official Olympic mascot,
“In the likeness of a human” is the modern meaning, now it’s thought.
I am no expert on these stones but driving northward, I keep a watchful look,
And respect the stone monument there to welcome you, the Inuit Inukshuk

A Symbol of Our Love

I long to see this love we have blossom daily with each passing day
The beauty of which we can't see but we can feel it all the same
I love it when the sun comes up and the birds sing sweetly too
This rose will be on our bench every day of the year I spend with you.

This bench of love is reserved for us for many years to come
Sitting here now I say to you that I want you for the rest of our lives
The rose is a symbol of all that is pure, our trust, our hope and love
Two hearts shall not be broken when they've been blessed by God above.

I promise you that each year will be better than the one before
A rose I’ll leave on this bench as each year we’re married passes by
I’m always going to be here for you my darling you’re the one I adore
This rose represents the longing in my heart, I want you forevermore.

To show just how much I care I will plant a rose bush here just for you
When I look at our little bench each year and think of how it all began
I'll remember with pride, that eve I proposed and you said “I will marry you”
As I slipped on the ring, you'd tears in your eyes, as the moon came into view.

When times catches up, grey hair sets in, grandchildren running wild at our side
I hope you'll be by my side on our bench with our roses still growing with love
But if you're not with me,It won't be hard to remember that night of my life
When I proposed one beautiful eve, we married and were husband and wife.

Premium Member A Symbol of Spring's Resurrection

cold February's
rain saturates the good earth...
star magnolia blooms

A symbol of spring's resurrection are those early blossoms. The Daffodils spring up under the bright yellow Forsythia and beautiful pink tulip shaped flowers cover the Japanese Magnolia. Resurrection stated in the most subtle way. They say to me there is hope that the sun will soon warm the earth's soil signaling to all of nature to come alive.

red buds glow
decorating the roadside...
heavy fog cloaks all

Spring's presence can be unobtrusive slipping in like a lamb. One day it is winter then a heady essence wafts on a zephyr that aroma of pale lavender Wisteria announcing spring has sprung.

Premium Member A Symbol of Pride

Ontario in Iroquois is-
Kanadario meaning sparkling water

the British claimed the land
under the approval of the Queen

well all that is another story

Ontario became a province of Canada
in 1867
a land of rivers and lakes and wild forests

the flag of Ontario has only been flying
since 1965 -
     red background
British Union Jack in upper left corner
and Provincial Coat of Arms of Ontario on fly half
it is a symbol of our identity

and the history of Ontario's British heritage
our forever relationship with the Queen

the vastness of Ontario is breathtaking
the most amazing in my life
travelling to Hudson Bay's far north
           mostly still untouched and pristine

did you know that the Ontario's flower
is the white trillium
            found in woodlands
it follows the sun across the sky

our motto is loyal she began loyal she remains

the Ontario flag flies proudly beside the Canadian flag
a magical beautiful sight shining boldly

on any important building you will find her beauty

blazing in the sun
fluttering in the wind rain and snow
             a symbol of pride
