I think it would work better if you put "this daughter's wedding", for the introduction of "her" creates a distraction. I get put off the subject matter and wonder who the mother is.

Yes, I know that - the "her" *as a word* creates the distraction from the rest of the poem, though.

Thanks for your most inspiring contest, Julia. The mother in my poem is the one who has been patiently doing the origami for her daughter's wedding. I much appreciate the placement.

This is darling; I have attempted origami, and I am horrible at it; tromping through throwing away pages and pages. Yes, I do believe you have mastered that art in addition to poetry and painting, friend.
