keep the music sorrowfully low,
so big daddy doesn’t hear.
the shadowy figures, surrender
and whisper in your ear.
the psychedelic colors flow
like the sea foam beat.
Angie, your chromatic hair
smells incandescently sweet.
locked and loaded, alone
with your beastie dreams.
your pillow’s soft and it leans -
your coming apart “at the seams”
one boy plays peek-a-boo, sniffing
your honeysuckles suspended.
tickled by your goldilock curls,
not realizing all it portended.
like walking into the deep dark wood,
he creeps hand and foot, eyes first
like a prowling tiger, tail wagging,
with a rattling tongue a-thirst.
Angie, swooshes her fingers
through his hair, hushes him.
...he stares at the ceiling stars
...loud music descends on his limbs.
Angie digs her embryonic duffel bag,
smiles and adds his decomposing bones
to the ashes of her huge imagination
and recalls that in this world, she’s all alone.

Above the firmament, crossing over the rainbow
Riding on those clouds, an endless trail of loving you
I am a freed butterfly in frenzy from a red cocoon
I’ll taste your kisses, so sweet like flowers in bloom
When I hold your hand, you tightly hold mine
I knew from the start, our hearts will entwine
Your passionate embrace makes it all divine
I’m besotted with you, our heartbeats go in rhyme
I love you with all my heart Mi Amor, my love
Our betrothal is a song swooshes into a pair of doves
Te amo con todo mi corazon, God knows from Above
I love you with all my heart, Mi Amor, my love

smashing! there she goes swaying her strut in red stilettos
with a lady gaga ’do, vamp gear and rockin’ diva blues…
"hottie P.D." that’s what she’s called.. ready to prance at
her latest night call, another gig for chilling a dish
at the flaming la vida loca bar: strictly for exclusive members
only, she ain’t on the list… hmmm,
sly fox down to two altoids and twenty bucks in her leased
armani tote. you guessed it right! she bats her long lashes
at the bomber’s gate; swooshes past the queue
using victoria’s secret model’s gait… what a RAAWWR!
surveying the lair, the sly destroyer skips no beat---
there’s her catch, a dumb-- looking frog, a sort of
prince dude. time for the bait, ready to down tons of martini,
tequila, whatever she won’t regret... ooh my, the vixen
slants a tyra pose caressing her mane smoothie smooth.
dumb frog approaches his " prey"--- that’s what’s lurking
on dude’s snail brain…” foxy lady, you beat the tar out of me!”.
PD coos,“ big boy, you better show me punk cuz i settle
for nothin’ less than a big score.”
flashing his platinum card on the deck, sly fox rattles off drinks
on top of the heap. whoa, a little bit of sweet talking and fast touching,
sly destroyer goes for the kill..“ an uptown throb you are,
smokin’ hon-- you care to bring your babe home in your
limo ,bimbo?” and frog croaks, “ wait babe, will bring it on!”
with another long wink, her last crime…hahaha, from PD’s
devilish voodoo blink, all she needed was a fancy hitch big time home.
sly destroyer whams it again! but wait.. frog is gone for friggin
30 minutes… turns out, the platinum card expired and stolen. drat!…
who’s the sly destroyer.. and who’s the flaky loser?
( just for fun!)

As I walk next to the frozen pond
The early morning sun was rising from behind the hill in the distance
Its warm rays peek through the line of maples
The air was still, the day was quiet
Only yesterday’s snow crunches with each step I take,
And the new freshly fallen powdery snow swooshes out from under my boots
I wondered, as I peered at the icy pond, would it support my weight
Should I venture across?
I would reach the road faster by cutting across, and decided to risk it
Gingerly I stepped, one foot at a time, holding my breath, closing my eyes,
Listening for the ominous crack
The air was still, the day was quiet
I hastened my step, quickly, lightly
It was a narrow, but a long pond, and deep for one so small
My heart pounded at the thought of its bottom
Nearing the center, the belly of this beast, a sharp noise stopped me like a statue
On the frozen pond
Caged magnetic daydreams of lucid migration;
I’ve been there before. It’s forbidden:
Orchard carved calligraphy crisply cut -
Spiraled surface-scratched immortality
Dimly azure, aglow on videotape,
Red, blue, green. Nature’s baby grand.
An organic player-piano ceaseless
In mellow tone, perched potpourri hillside,
Plucking raspberry notes of beautiful song;
Translucent aches nestled by slippy wake
That ricochet ripples, careening whispers
Through rendezvous dreams.
Seductive susurrus, sentient, shadowy,
Teasing temptation longed to taste;
Siren’s breathiness gurgles in devilish dive,
Swooshes, swoops, swallows. Tickles.
Siren’s breathless gurgle chokes drowned lies.
But…so serene. Feather soft tranquility.
Lyrical folly forbidden. Salmon pink.

Writer’s note:
Told as a pet parakeet (while his owner listens to Radiohead’s song Videotape) whose cage is hung in the window of a cottage overlooking a stream through an orchard while the sun goes down who was a fish in a past life but, sadly, drowned due to a mental disorder which caused him to believe he was a bird and, consequently, spend all day trying to fly out of the water…until the day he refused to use his gills to breathe since, after all, birds don’t have gills.
The-beat-the, the-beat-the, the-beat
Drawn into my innards so sweet.
A lifetime of heartbeats come smoldering back-
The child, the teen, the young adult
Pound, out of sync.
But together they sound so heavenly sweet.
Feet dashing down school halls;
The brush swooshes through hair in the mirror;
Sweet love burns down childhood’s stick house.
Starting with a flicker…then inferno...then fizzle.
This middle-age relic inhales the heat, while
Lost in the-beat-the, the-beat .
Crash of air, piped, piped, piped to the-beat-
Boom, rest, boom, rest, boom, there’s more;
Multi-task sensors want more, much more!
Adding to, multiplying on-
The-beat-the, the-beat-the, the-beat
An infinity of joy, without repeat.
Yes, yes, yes…..maybe?
Fire’s almost out…
And smoke has no beat
Pfffttt!

A small tree, quite old, sits near the harbor
Where the water swooshes into the rocks
A real dark blue, near black, color exists
A murky flow hits hard there by the docks
The wind picks up, a storm is on the way
Tree bends but surely refuses to break
The sound becomes deafening with the waves
Even by the beach the water does rake
Past the beach is a lovely green pasture
Wild flowers blooming here and there, softly
Brings the feeling of peace before the storm
Lifting wind displays its power greatly
In the horizon deep into the sea
The lightning flashes and thunder crashes
Brings the storm on its heels, moving briskly
I run to take cover from its thrashes
The storm comes, a mega-powerful force
Wind blows greatly, moving water fiercely
All the flowers in the field hold their ground
Just as it came in fast, it leaves quickly
I’m free from the grasp of nature’s fury
Free to enjoy calmer waters once more
Air has a crisp, cool feelings all about
I revisit the small tree that’s now sore

Like many heroes of mysterious Marvel Comics,
Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange is a bolt of magic mix;
Spells of supernatural kinds he works, abundantly,
Crimsons, crystals, ice, rings, chains - in constant redundancy...!
Pile of pure pulverization and annihilation,
The Bolts of Balthakk has become eternal damnation;
On any stuff - solid or liquid - the bolt does explode,
Like iron-oxidation, all powers it does corrode...!
Bounds, rebounds, rings, winks, blows, boomerangs at its master's hands,
Swishes, swooshes; whizzes, whooshes like winds in desert sands;
None in heaven or hell could ever its gravity hold,
Like swift, sly electric current it does its force unfold...!
Is it terrible torch of fire? Or lake of lava?
Is it hydro-nitrogen bomb resembling baklava?
From hands of Doctor Strange, like gold dust they serenely fly,
Clapping, crashing, flashing, dazzling, booming, zooming they spry...!
Doctor Strange manipulates these bolts like liquid plasma,
For him, a magic-surgeon, it's mere mental miasma;
An awesome third eye adorns the forehead of Doctor Strange,
For mesmerized kids, these are, delightful amusement-range...!

I'm a genie and Batman wangled
a one-wish, real deal from me;
he said graveyard shift duties
have been driving him real nuts lately;
he was bored flapping nocturnal,
chasing this and that criminal.
He wanted to be Spiderman,
that celebrity on teevee;
I said yes, but identical identities
I couldn't guarantee;
for crimes of impersonation he shouldn't
look at me, I was merely his genie.
On his wish he would insist;
I granted it with a minor twist:
the spider silk wouldn't zip out
from his fingers or from his wrist,
but through his shoes or the crotch
of his pants, whichever opened first.
So, if the guy swooshes by upright,
that's the Spiderman alright;
if he dangles upside down by his butt
that's the man who's a bat;
if that's unsightly, don't blame me,
that's arachnid anatomy!
There’s a quiet in watching myself sleep
Like a buzz , a drone of calm abandon
Gently passing this fluid ocean , deep
Past reeds and tall grasses that slither on
To unknown whispering or gushing tide--
A current, steady as unconscious sigh
Rivering through the swooshes of my glide,
To bring rest from a wired day..I slip by.
Across glittering shorelines in moon’s flow;
My breaths bid me closer in an embrace
While I lie here in your summer, aglow
As whispers talk in lapses about grace.
Till after midnight, we both cuddle peace
For the drawl of evening pulls me, astir
Where in your arms- soft murmurs-- find release
Through a space between awareness and blur.

Nestling upon the snow, puss peeks over the soft
dusty snow, as sparkling snowflake spiral and fall
upon her long fur sending her spirits aloft.
She has the most expressive face and yet so small,
her bright emerald eyes look up while the wind whipped
dusty snow, as sparkling snowflake spiral and fall.
Puss white downy fur was hard to see as she dipped
a labyrinth path around the powdery fluff,
her bright emerald eyes look up while the wind whipped.
Puss breasted the numbing air with breath of white puffs.
Wind swooshes through with an intent chill as it jests
a labyrinth path around the powdery fluff.
Thrilled of first falling snow she frolics in more quests.
Trailing behind a thread of white from bush and tree
wind swooshes through with an intent chill as it jests.
Puss dashes out to the backyard so she may see.
Nestling upon the snow, puss peeks over the soft
trailing behind a thread of white from bush and tree
upon her long fur sending her spirits aloft.

Eyes open as you inhale the morning air, The body still heavy from slumber loosens with each stretch and yawn, Standing slowly you walk to the window, Peeking through the inviting sun beams onto you its warmth, You head for the front door, Every subtle step the floorboards beneath your feet creak and groan as you near the doorway arch you step down onto the entryways stone floor, Ice cold to the touch of your skin, Shivers run down your spine swiftly you step onto the welcoming mat, Your feet warm once again you grasp the door handle turning slowly you hear the door peel away from the frame, Cool dew air swooshes in with the draft smacking against your face as if you were splashed by a sprinkler, Goosebumps appear in a matter of seconds, Peering out beyond your house the soft blankets of fog thinly cover the landscape as far as the eye can see, Dewdrops speckled all about your yard you hesitate to proceed, You choose to carry on seeing the possession in which you seek is only a few feet in-front of you, One foot proceeds after the next, Once on concrete, twice on concrete, Thrice you pause, Looking down the lush green sea at your feet an the tears of last nights cold temperature beckoning, Forth step the grass bristles between your toes slashing at your ankles, The icy cool strips of grass feel as though it were cutting deep within to the bone, Fifth step you reach down picking up the prize you sought after, With haste you rush back through the icy sea of green without fear or hesitation, Leaping onto the concrete an bounding for the front door, Closing the door behind you chills rise once again as the warmth bellows out from the fireplace, Your lashed with wave after wave of hungry flames only feet away, You exhale with triumph striking a silly victory pose as you wipe your feet on the mat below, Moving to the recliner you sit back propping your fit up and unleash the paper from within it's clear wrapping, Your morning has only just begun.
Radios blaring, televisions drumming on and on and on
The faucet drips, the dishwasher hums
A soft blowing sound from the air conditioner
The refrigerator dropping ice..then filling with water
Ticking clocks on the bed stands
The ringing of the phone from some telemarketing service
My own voice droning on the answering machine after the irritating beep
Swirling swooshes of ceiling fans
Another tire hitting the storm drain on the road behind my home
The roar of a lawnmower…followed by a trimmer…then a blower
Birds chattering in the many trees in my yard, some chirping, some whistling
A neighbor’s dog barking at the children out front, yelling mixed with laughter
My thoughts invaded with uninvited sounds
Dozens of intruders flying through my ears
I sometimes long for just a moment
When the air isn’t filled with all these noises
You can't trust them
Tangle in the spider webs mind
You see reflection of your outer soul
It shows the wages of time
In every line on once so smooth a surface
You smile
Creams, powders, stretching, the knife
Once youth escapes it can not be recaptured
Only remembered
In old photographs, home movies
Images Reflected
A moment capture
Frozen
Before
Since
Once
Vanity is pride in denial
No you can't trust them
Mirrors never speak the truth but they show it
Love yourself old and your heart stays young
A breath of reality swooshes the spider webs clear
You can trust them
Life is good
You smile.
MY LADY WITH BLUE EYES
I called her out
She turned around
She smiled at me
And swooshes’ her hair to the back
Where was I, out of the world
I reached for her hand, she became shy
She laughed, and looked down
I stood there and looked as the breeze swindles her rainbow dress
I cleared my throat, for the second approach
To woe you lady be mine
From a thousand galaxies we see in the night sky
The billion human beings on planet earth
And all the ladies out there, can I please…
Say no more, she said, as she put her finger on my lips
Slowly she let it roll down to my chin
Then turned back again, biting her nail…
She gave me a glimpse,
For that moment I saw her blue eyes
Sparkling like the morning dew…
To be continued…
