Best Sweet Balm Poems

Soul Thirst Quench

In draining sand I trace the line
the tide has made in bubbles, fine,

where scalloped wavelets sloped in foam,
halt the ocean’s wide roiling roam.

Pale seashells shimmer in bright sun
and tiny crabs sport sideways run;

whitecaps dancing, turquoise to green,
toss at my feet a glossed sea bean.

Solitude, loved quiet and calm,
give to my weary soul sweet balm.

The mornings that I stroll the beach
seem like heaven slips into reach;

I pause to rest on driftwood bench
drink in the sea, my soul thirst quench.

Premium Member THE SILENCE THAT WHISPERS

Peaceful as a frozen lake by a quiet winter's dawn
still as the silence that whispers to us, like a fawn
Drawn to the air in our lungs as we gently engage
side by side in a world of great love, rock of Age

Let us fly like birds through a world of pure joy
where beauty and grace are virtues we deploy
Let us live here as one and always keep pace
with a heart that is pure, set always in place

Composed as the Sun when it beams on the snow
with a linger of solitude and a trace of afterglow
Quiet as the stars of heaven that exude n' shine
late at night in the sky as it turns , red to wine

Let us embrace and exist as we breathe in the calm
clothing our thoughts with a drop of sweet balm
Let us arrive by the rivers of brave and swim free
just like the fish in the sea who know how to be,

peaceful as a frozen lake by a quiet winter pond,
still as the silence that whispers to us at dawn.

Premium Member Sunday Morning

The morning comes, dawning
slowly, as I arise once more --
mind meandering, sleepily yawning,
sunlight creeping through my door.

My mewing cat demands a morning meal
while distant church bells faintly peal
and traffic sounds invade the room.
Coffee briskly brews; the cat begins to groom.

I grab a glass of breakfast juice -- minutes pass
as I drink it down then get the paper from the grass.
I brush off the dew, read the news,
the comic strips and op-ed views.

My coffee cools. Dumb opinions heat me up.
To calm myself, I re-warm my too-cold cup
then turn to hear pure music's psalm.
No rapping please -- just melody's sweet balm.

Halos of a Thousand Lashes

“Halos of a Thousand Lashes”

Sweet dreams
for runnaway children
looking for nursery rhymes

a sweet balm comes to mind
fairy songs sung
to close their eyes

fluttering a thousand lashes
like angels wings

hearts wear thorny crowns
for halos seeking home
opening arms

shooting cupids arrows
across the universe
for better tomorrows

Natures Mirror

Mirrored trees reflecting so clear,
Mountains with snow peaks seem so near.
Tranquil lake sweet balm for my soul,
Seldom within a wave will roll.
Natures mirror lined with sky makes me shed a tear.

"Life is serene on a hammock with the ocean waves crashing behind you"
                                             - by Poet

Beautiful beach beckons, its sand pristine,
         Crashing wild waves, melody to the soul,
Cacophony of seabirds sounds divine,
         Bathed by the sea, my bare feet take a stroll,
    In constant motion, the sea billows roll;
The ocean has the upper hand, so calm,
          I sit in the dappled shade of the palm,
Swinging in a hammock, resting my eyes,
          The soothing swell in the background, sweet balm,
    Perfect peace envelops me, no surprise!

End comes surely,
Now lost at sea;
Rest feels sleepy,
Opt peace that frees;
Unbraid old woes,
Toils of these shores,
Enter and go.
New light feeds core,
Obtain fond ease
Within a place;
Hidden in peace,
Exult fine grace;
Rest in sweet balm,
Explore soul calm.

One Good Man

ONE GOOD MAN
by Tina Lasley

You breathed into my life like a whisper
So soft, and gentle, with such ease
Your kisses rocked my world
and brought me to my knees

A voice ever so soothing
A demeanor so easily calm
Your sexy voice singing
Is like a wonderful sweet balm

No need to fill the silence with chatter
We can sit in each other’s presence with ease
You holding my hand
Me wanting to please

Comfort, Protection and Safety
Are found within your arms
Where nothing can penetrate the surface
Therefore, bring no harm

Bigger than life, a gentle soul
A kindred spirit with a heart of gold
Such a wondrous Man
If truth be told

You set the standard
For all other men
Don't know that there’ll be another
That will measure up again

In hues of grace, wonders never fade beneath the starry skies who sing of in softest tones – precious, perfect psalms ~ quote by poet

Reflections of the heart glisten through the night
Quieting the darkness, all the fright
Gentling the ache, a soft calm
Wise like the sweet balm
Singing peace
Psalm
Never cease
Silent soul’s aplomb
Praying, hoping with no qualm
Assurance of love bringing delight
Reflections of the heart glisten through the night

Deep in these woods quest solitude,
Invite the heart and mind to stay;
See fare and food in attitude,
Choice learns to start a better way.
Engage spirit as body finds,
Reach to contact a deeper whole;
Niche zest and wit with peace of mind.
Thrill your own pact as truth makes whole,
Heed stillness here as silence treats,
Observe the feel of tensile calm;
Rise to now steer the path you meet,
Embrace wise will that spreads sweet balm.
Ample speaks more in affluent seed,
Use joy galore to feed scant need.

The Boardwalk and the Blue Fairy

The sugar sweet balm of salt water taffy
      graced the breeze.
While savoring deep breaths of this seaside confection,
       I held tightly, my grandmother’s hand.
I was five years old and we had come to the shore,
      just the two of us, for a few days.

The boardwalk was hot. The sun’s intensity matched
     only by the hypnotic rhythm of the whitecaps
rushing their sandy demise.

Strolling along, I spotted a beautiful window.
     It boasted the most remarkable display of miniatures.
 There were elaborate, colorful settings of Ferris wheels and rides
     and it was full of Disney memorabilia.

Having just seen Pinocchio, I asked for the tiny Blue Fairy.
     She was beautiful and sure to bestow her magic on me.
I took my prize and together we sat for hours and gazed,
the ocean, the gulls, beach babies, my sweet guardian and me.
Indeed, my diminutive new friend did accompany me for
     the rest of my stay and long after.

That wonderful day, a blessed memory of my grandmother,
     will be with me forever.

Flower Beauty

Flower Beauty
(Life’s Refrain)

Red rose
Flower of love
So beautiful it grows
Send from above
Red rose

Flowers
With heart and soul
Loving the spring showers
To reach their goal
Flowers

With grace
Fragrant release
Colorful garden face
Sweet inner peace
With grace

Green hills
Inner poise calm
Nature’s wildflower thrills
With a sweet balm
Green hills

Meet moments calm in happy feel;
You start the tale with easy reach.
Joy spreads sweet balm to soothe and heal;
Ideas prevail to fondly teach.
Grapple with voice to cause appeal;
Success speaks well as outcomes tell;
Allow your choice to fund fine fill;
Wise up and spell the way you dwell.
Pulse dazzle play in simple fit;
Urge primes the mood in grandeur's bid;
Zest sparks fond say in splendour's glitz;
Zeal attracts good in cheery seed;
Look beyond need to see things here;
Evoke fine deed that flings wise cheer.

TINKERS #1:

Mind follows heart as feelings urge,
Intent floods start with poise and merge;
Charm has a way to ooze sweet balm,
Health primes each day as stillness calms;
Ask truth to tell in plain words bold,
Expect fine spell to now unfold;
Live in the light of ample surge.
Touch then clear sight with that blind purge,
Inspire fond feel in ancient psalm;
Now watch touch heal with magic palm,
Keep pulse right here with ideas sold;
Etch thus good cheer that warms the cold,
Reap as you sow such lovely things,
See happy grow grand buzz thought brings.

WHEN DARKNESS FALLS, HOLD ON TO HOPE

In sorrow's dark and lonely night,
Have you lost loved ones, or labored in vain for light?
Has joy's sweet melody been shattered by life's unseen hand?
Fear not, dear heart, for hope's sweet balm is at your command.

Injustice's chains have bound you tight,
Unjustly jailed, and suffering for another's plight.
Love's sweet deceit has left you torn,
And family's troubles weigh upon your heart forlorn.

Rejection's sting has pierced your soul,
Failure's label clings, and fears make you whole.
But don't be swayed, dear heart, for success is near,
And goodness, though unreciprocated, will ultimately clear.

Fired, forsaken, and forgotten, you wander alone,
A poor man's voice, drowned out by the crowd's cold stone.
Evil's repayment for your love's pure heart,
Don't stop your goodness, for it will never depart.

What's meant to be will be, no force can alter fate's design,
Though delayed, joy will arrive, and lost glory will entwine.
Why succumb to life's complexities, and contemplate the darkest night?
Why surrender to negativity's grasp, and consider the final, fatal fight?

Guard yourself, relax, and rejoice, for the cross's burden will soon pass,
And in its wake, a brighter dawn will rise, and forever last.
